Yesterday a friend and myself discussed what the most expensive kill ever made was worth? Was it the 40 billion paladdin kill some time ago (for subcap ships) or is it even crazier than that? Guess the Titan obvious takes the prize in the Capital class, but what about sub cap? Whats the most expensive kill ever made there? Just beeing qurious

The kestrel that was carrying 74 plex's in it's cargo was a 20+ billion loss, iirc. Then there was that 8 billion isk vindy loss.

Edited by: Abdiel Kavash on 14/11/2010 15:51:14 I have seen a kill valued by the killboard at about 60 bilion. It was a faction BS (can't remember which one), and the only piece of fitting that was not officer's was a tractor beam.
Then there are some pretty crazy freighter kills carrying outposts, capital BPOs and such.
Of course, lost Titans go for 70-120 bilion too, but a huge part of that is obviously the ship cost. ___________

Yeah I'd say faction/unique ships cost more since while the material cost may be much less, they are quite harder to find and may even be in limited numbers... So a unique ship valued for any cost may be said to cost much more for the simple reason that it's unique. A titan after all only needs money and logistics to be built, no real "cap" on titans.

Buga Buga might have a point. What would the Gold Magnate be worth today?

Then let me ask a follow up question:
What is the most expensive non-cap non-unique ship lost?

the most expensive kills was CCPs income as pirates get off hunting/griefing noobs before or immediately after they upgrade their trial account

I think losing of Imperial Apocalypse is in the same ballpark. Both of those losses are magnitudes greater than next best contenders in the forum of various officer fitted supercaps.

A few years back a state raven was lost which I think was valued at over 100 billion due to hull alone.
Fairly recently there was a Kronos lost which cost over 20b.

Edited by: Buga Buga on 15/11/2010 20:14:48 The gold magnate was one of a kind. The other ship lost were not unique, so the Gold Magnate must be the most expensive kill I'm a "Shoot me I suck" specialist. |

the most valuable ship in eve is Chribba's veldnaught a revalation class dreadnaught in highsec trade hub station Amarr currently it still survives due to the massive tank though. most valuable kills would be rare ships, basicly look at variations of ships like the apocalypse and what the info says if it sounds rare it is

Considering we got bids of 200 billion for it, I'd say the Imperial Apoc that fell in the alliance tournament.
