How many Elephants must have their legs chopped off before you realise this is a cruel practice...and a totally disgusting food. I mean, just look at the evil right there
grill real meat and eat it off a stick, much better for you.

I had doner kebab once when I was working in London. And I do mean *once*. It was vile, both in taste as in texture - and most likely in origin too - but not as vile as the indigestion I got afterwards. Consequences of dabbling with that festering feast of purulent remains.
But then, some years later when I was in Amsterdam, I discovered Maoz, the original venue, and my belly found joy in their falafel kebabs. So good it eventually expanded to a few other countries and cities, now including my hometown as well.
Hmm... and going off into another tangent now, the word "Falafel" always makes me think of Tricky's Maxinquaye.

How drunk were you? You need a certain level of inebriation to deal with a doner, though you can get away with a shish (just normal meat grilled on the cooker more or less) while sober.
The elephant's leg is not for the faint hearted though, no denying it.

Elephant leg? That's the first I've heard of that. The D÷nner we get here in the netherlands is just regular lamb. Also, that stuff is DANGEROUS when you're drunk, cuz you already have dehydration. One Durum Donner (lamb) contains twice the daily intake of salt.. If you plan on chugging one down before bed after a night of drinking.. Prepare for intense vomiting/worst hangover ever/death.
"British kebab lovers, I bring you... MORE CORN!!"

In Canada we call them Donairs.
They come with "donair sauce" which i can tell you first hand from working in a place that made such things is nothing more than curdled evaporated milk and sugar.
As for what the processed meat actually consists of, i'd rather not know, and the companies which normally supply it aren't very forthcoming with such info.

Don't get me wrong, i love the traditional kebab but Gyros is so much nicer and less fatty. Although it is quite a bit more expensive.

BUT just about right there you dodged the toasting imho lol.
I had Brit kebabs - mmmmm om nom nom nom, oooops there goes the trouser button. Swiss Kebabs - much dryer, served in a wrap not a pitta and using dried chilli spice mix instead of roast your face off (nice to me) chilli sauce.
Gotta admit the Swiss one felt healthier and was tastier.
Ive now banned myself from all fast food barring burger in a sit down pub/resto/club.

My first true kebabs were in Turkey near Adana.
Until this day my favorite recipes are Turkish. Nobody else knows how to do mushrooms as good.

I used to enjoy a Shawarma kebab occasionally when I lived in London. It's cooked in a similar way to a doner, but the spit is loaded with proper chunks of lamb, rather than that dubious doner sh*t. Doner kebabs make me think of very drunk fat people, semi-concious in the gutter, leaking from every orifice.

My mother use to force feed me doner meat aka warm shoe leather when I was young in order for me to gain weight.
We dont speak much now
I agree with the haters here and tbh anything that comes out of a take away (exception being a pizza) is best to be avoided, no matter how drunk you are .

It will be your duty to review it on that site if you do ("pita bread looked like an upside-down Apocalypse" etc).
