So I see that the Incursion Features page describes Client Customization: "Smooth things out with new total anti-aliasing options now available in the settings menu. Set your perfect view of the universe; the height and width of your windowed client can now be controlled with a simple drag of a border." I like that anti-aliasing has been added to the client, hopefully I'll see an improvement over the AA I currently have setup through the nvidia control panel.
But more to the point: with regard to setting my "perfect view of the universe", does that mean that running the client windowed will now properly support dual screen without additional software?!
Definitely looking forward to next month! |

TL;DR: yep
Extended Special Edition:
Depends on your dual screen setup. If you run the usual variant with the second screen just expanding the desktop (instead of cloning the view or other stuff) than you should be able to just drag the window as wide as you want. Can't test it myself as i run just a single screen with a TV for fullscreen video display, however that what I described is what I got from people actually running a "real" dual-screen setup.
Even better. You can set the camera center to the sides. Result of it in a small example: you can run eve on 2 screens with 3840x1080 and see your entire ship on the left or right side of the screen without the frames of the screens slicing your ship in two. How awesome is that? |

Yes you can. I play dual screened on sisi and it looks amazing. highest anti-aliasing dual screen looks beautiful.
The main thing that makes this feature amazing is the camera and UI offset when you stretch the window it not longer forces you to have your ship in the seem between your monitors, you can slide the ship to either side and have a nice panoramic view.
Once I get my second graphics card I'll have a 3rd monitor set up for an even more awesome view. I LOVE this feature.

What if monitor 2 is not as "tall" as monitor 1, IE 900 versus 1080, would i have to, if I want to use this feature have eve cover most but not all of monitor one, leaving a nasty unsightly and pointless gap?

Yes. Unfortunately graphics cards aren't used to rendering odd resolutions - they simply don't understand when you give them an area with multiple sizes to work on. Graphics cards understand YxZ, and little else.
You could divide the work up, but that'd mean double the work for the GPU with massive overhead, and that's not ideal. This is exactly how SupCom does it (it renders two sets of YxZ). This is not EVE's fault, you'll simply have to live with it. ---

would it work if it renders still in the off limits part but is forcing the ui to render on the visible parts? Linkage

I manually added a few resolutions to my registry and am now running 1680x980 on a 22" screen. It's perfect and this resizing doesn't matter at all, unless the client remembers the resolution the screen was in when you closed it last. Then this will become my preferred method of determining the EVE window size.
I also can't wait for AA options in the game itself, as long as it's not for nVidia cards only.
