I had an odd thing happen during a limited engagment in a hi-sec system...module lag. Lag to the point where my ship and modules wouldn't respond to commands at all, just continue straight and level as my opponents ripped me to pieces. I know that my system is powerful enough to run eve and have never noticed this before the latest set of patches. What I want to know is...is this just some anomalous behavior or have other community members noticed this?

I'm going to guess nothing. Personally I think the logs are generated in a pseudo random fashion that has absolutely nothing to do with actual game play. --Vel

I think I had this problem.
Did your ships modules keep on cycling and you could in no way stop your ship or interact with it?
I had to reboot the client, luckly I wasn't in a fight.

I've had that problem myself, Alara. Usually it comes from a horrible desync - mine usually result in the client crashing on it's own. --Vel

Not just that: the logs are not even in English or any other language a Westerner would recognize, but in Pumpokol, which stems from a region in central Siberia, and his been dead since the 18th century.
Yugh - another language from the Yeniseian family - was proposed as the official language for EVE logs, but CCP found out that according to Wikipedia, by 1991 it still had around 2 or 3 non-fluent speakers, and that was deemed to close for comfort.

After a fashion...no matter how many times I clicked on them they did nothing at all, my guns wouldn't fire even though the initial attacker had been auto-targeted. I mean NOTHING worked, AB...Armor-Rep...NOS...manuver commands, nothing. Even after the ship blew...my pod was non-responsive as well when trying to get back into station at approx 1700 meters away.

Ah, but if no one speaks the language how did they program the system to create the logs in that language? ---- --- ---

Edited by: Indeterminacy on 22/11/2010 16:45:32 There is a way to remain effective in combat in the face of module lag in all but the worst cases. That said, MWD lag + inability to navigate might be the worst IMO.

Just for future reference, your ship blowing up activates a 30 second session timer so you can't dock, warp off, don't try to dock (I know it didn't matter in this case as ship was not responsive, but for times when it is

Were you in a mission hub? Were you doing a mission? Were there hundreads of other people in the system doing missions too?
It used to happen in dodixie at peak hours a fair bit.

You most certainly can warp your pod after your ship is destroyed.
