Let's try to keep this mature and brief so that it's useful to CCP.
I left WoW because it's a game for immature people who have no patience or creativity. EVE gave me a game where patient, mature players can play in a sandbox where things are difficult, life is unscripted, and you have to be an admirable person in order to succeed.
If that ever changes, I will quit EVE without batting an eye.

I'm not sure what game you joined after leaving WOW but from your description of the player base it sure isn't EVE?

I am not an Ageist.
Age was never mentioned in the OP.
And for the OP it will happen in steps the most notable probably coming with Incarna/Walking In Stations/Ambulation assuming there is anything to actually do with that expansion.

Coincidentally, I left WoW because although it was, and probably is, a FUN game. I did not feel the need to take the same roller coaster ride again after the Burning Crusade expansion ended.
See unlike you, I don't need to brand WoW as a bad game to enjoy my time in Eve. I liked WoW, I think it was a great game but expansions don't change much and after you've done it once you don't need to do it again.
Playing Eve doesn't suddenly make me a better person than when I played WoW. It's clear though that you're not "mature" enough to understand that.

No but it was mentioned in the tital and I would rather not see people disuaded from playing this game because they are not adult enough for the OP.
The stupid will get weeded out by the tenents of EVE such as world or in this case universal PVP and the Competitive Drive. There is little point to a thread that has no relevent information and then says if the wrong people show up I quit...

I am not really sure how mature and adult EvE is. When I explained it to my wife in detail she paused for a moment before replying," So it is about flying internet spaceships and being mean on the internet?". I would like EvE to remain complex and confusing to learn, however I don't need "adult" content to stick around. If this were the same game except we flew golden pandas around I would still play due to the customization and margin for error.

Hear, hear. EVERY game community gets that sense of hubris that it is 'special', more 'mature' or just better than everyone else. EvE is a focking cool game, but no need to knock other people's leisure activities to promote one's own.

In my opinion, the game is no where near being the mature audience CCP attempts to portray as its player base.
- The aspect of drug / substance abuse has been frowned upon and practically removed from the game. I remember in my early days, I was offered a mission to collect and deliver a bunch of narcotics.
- When CCP decided to expand back into the box version with Atari, the game got a warning label added upon logging in. Now instead of being "Mature", it has become "Teen".
- What exactly is suppose to be "cold and dark" about this gaming universe again?
- Goons were envisioned as adolescent teens with too much time on their hands. And many people follow their leads even today.
- Perhaps I am showing my age, but reading replies like, "Ur stuf - can i haz?" speaks volumes about that poster's overall mentality which I will willing translate into immaturity.
- With the world economy being what it has been, I feel more adults would have let their accounts lapse to spend the sub costs in real life bills while young adults without so many expensive bills, would have more spending money to burn on this game.
Of course, I could be wrong. But maturity in this game is pretty rare now-a-days.

Fix'ed, it is not just forums. People in general laugh joke and kid around. Wanting them to conform to a single idea of maturity is the biggest joke of all and you don't get that in EVE.
It is a universe for anyone and a Sandbox to express idea's and opinions. Other games have it to and if you don't like the human element you won't like open multiplayer games at all.

As if extreme patience neccessarily makes good players and impatient people are always bad players. This simply isn't true. And agreed look at the forum: not what's my definition of mature behaviour.

I actually don't mind children much in the real world, so i'm not 'ageist', but the internet often just makes them insufferable. Precious little snowflakes who start barking insults and throwing tantrums the moment any small thing goes wrong or they don't get their way. You don't want to be in a group depending on someone like that.

I strongly agree with the OP as sometimes you do want to have a game where Gear Score 1337 and *skill* (Arena) do not interfere with content.
EVE is more then just a game it is a simulator and I had great time with mature players in here as they will help will teach and keep game satisfaction level supa dupa high XD.

When I first started playing EVE, I thought it had a pretty intelligent and mature community.
Over the years, I've learned how wrong I was.
Better than other MMO communities? Overall, yeah, probably. That's not saying much, though. -----SIGNATURE-----
