So, I just got my Orca the other day so far have Mining Dir 3, Industrial Command Ships 3, and Warfare Link Specialist 3. Traing Mining Dir 4 now.
My question is, since we are getting any skill points in Learning back as of Dec 14 I'll have 2.25 mil SP to play with. What would you take to 5 first? Industrial Command Ships or Warefare Link Specialist.
I can get Mining Director to 5 and have enough left over to get one of the other 2 to 5 (or almost, I'll fall about 200,000 short on Industrial Command Ship 5).
Any thoughts or advice?

Mining Director: 100% link bonus per level (charisma/willpower) Warfare Link Specialist: 10% link bonus per level (charisma/willpower) Industrial Command Ships/Orca: 3% link bonus per level (perception/willpower)
Mining Director 5 + Cybernetics 5 also gets you a Mining Foreman Mindlink, which boosts links by another 50%, and gives a flat 15% bonus (replaces Mining Foreman's 10%).

Cybernetics is intelligence/memory, so I personally wouldn't waste refund points on it; it trains faster than the charisma skills.
Already have Cybernetics 5 so it looks like I'll head that direction, thanks.

Warfare Link Spec for 2 reasons
1. It gives the larger boost 2. It's charisma based, so you're less likely to remap for it

3. It affects all links, not just mining ones. Presumably at some point you'll be maxed out in Orca skills and start training the character for something else; warfare link spec will help if you decide to get command ships for link (or use a BC for gang PVP). *** Wish list for PI:
*One-click input routing *Copy product, inputs & outputs in factories *Launchpad upgrades: twice the space, twice the cost, half the hassle! |

The Orca can use 3 combat warfare links also. Makes for a very nice booster for w-space RR fleets in anoms.

I've actually already thought of this. Since I didn't have a clear plan of where this character was going after I finished with the Orca I figured a Orca/Command Ship pilot was logical.
Thanks all for the input.

I've long since retired my Orca from mining duty. Before the introduction of the Noctis it was my mission support ship using that 1k m/s 70k range tractor to make wreck balls and carry around a salvage dessie in the maint bay. I'd use it to swap out fittings in the middle of a mission which was handy for stuff like worlds collide to be able to always have the optimal tank with out having to dock up.
In fact I never even bothered maxing my mining skills on any of the characters I fly it with because it was so useful for other activities.
It's also the high sec afk hauler of choice since thanks to the corp hanger it's very unlikely to be ganked for economic reasons, of course they could always gank you for lulz but that can happen in a shuttle too.
It really is an awesome ship. My current plan is to take one of my Orca pilots and train him to max leadership over the next year. To use him as a neutral fleet booster in high sec.
Infomorph Psychology V to have a clone for each type of mindlink, then fit gang links on Orca to flavor.
The eventual goal after maxing leadership skills will be to train command ships and T3 so he can fill a more active role.
So I'm going to concur with the advice to get Warfare link Spec.
Besides 10% is more than 3% and you should be using haulers to haul not your Orca, tank the damned thing and enjoy the ganker tears when they figure out that 10 alpha BS's can't suicide a properly fit Orca. 250k ehp baby.
