I've heard of a White Wolf developed tabletop with an Eve theme is in the works. Thing is, I'm impatient.
I've been GMing, developing, and playing tabletop roleplaying games for 17 years now, and I hadn't really made anything in a while, so I decided to have a crack at designing an Eve themed tabletop roleplaying game. So here is my humble attempt that I call 'Eve: Descended'. The setting is for those that are interested in roleplaying as any average citizen, soldier, or anything from the Eve universe (Capsuleers need not apply). If you want to roleplay as a Capsuleer, I hear there is already a video game for that.
Character Sheet Everything else you'll need to get started
This is the first iteration of the game, I will be updating it as it's played. Also, if anything is confusing, feel free to ask.

Nice, thanks for sharing. Looks simple and smooth. I'll give an update if I can convince my friends to try this out :)

Just played a game recently. Was lots of fun and I got some feedback on some of the gameplay mechanics. (although a majority of the game was character interaction, so the gameplay itself was minimal.)

In the first iteration of the game, it was directly connected. But now it's a separate attribute completely. So any points put into max health are taken from the initial distributed 30.

A few more questions:
What is the average life of a player (or that of an enemy npc) ? Is there any type of armour in the game ? How do technological skills level up ? (If you roll on the core die a failure, how do you know where to allocate it to the tech or to the skills ? Who decides?) What other tips can you offer ? :P - What I mean by this: I'm making a little session with my friends to introduce them to the universe of eve and what tips should I know so I can make their play more enjoyable ?

Originally by: lisaaa What is the average life of a player (or that of an enemy npc) ?
When I ran my campaign, most of the players had about 5-6 health. I gave my NPCs health based on their importance, from 3-8 (3 for cannon fodder guards, and 8 for a Guristas mob boss of some sort.)
Originally by: lisaaa Is there any type of armour in the game ?
Sure, I'd suggest that if a player has body armor equipped, and they take damage in that region, you could say it nullifies 2 damage or so. It's always fun to get creative with the numbers. When a random shot is fired towards someone, I like to roll a d6 to determine where the shot will go: 1=head 2=right arm 3=chest 4=left arm 5=right leg 6=left leg
Just remember, it's your campaign, you can take liberties with the rules and story whenever you feel it's necessary to make the game more enjoyable/exciting for your players.

Both the tech and the skill gain SP when the core die fails. Although I should mention that the tech skills should only be used when something is of higher difficulty than average, and only if the challenge is based on faction tech or knowledge. (Common civilian locks/weapons/challenges etc will never use a tech knowledge bonus.)
Originally by: lisaaa What other tips can you offer ? :P - What I mean by this: I'm making a little session with my friends to introduce them to the universe of eve and what tips should I know so I can make their play more enjoyable ?
Personally, I like to have a soundtrack made up of things that I can use to set the mood of the game. I loop them in the background when the situation calls for them. Also, coming up with a soundtrack for your campaign can be just as fun as writing the campaign itself sometimes. Here are some examples: Slums Fire Fight Calm
I also made a point to have my sessions have a lot of tension, and to start things out small to leave room for more exciting things later. I took a note from Cowboy Bebop and Firefly and decided to make my players a very poor crew who only had a few ISK and a crappy ship (Dingo class Republic Interplanetary transport, worse than a rookie ship) to their name. I also took the liberty of adding a lower value currency called Kronas, where 1000 Kronas = 1 ISK, this allowed me to let the players buy very low value things without them costing near as much as a cruise missile (~100 ISK).
If you're interested in a quick campaign idea, you're welcome to read over the few sessions that we played online.
I hope these tips help out some, you'll have to let me know how your sessions go.

I actually have been trying my hand at building an RPG system for an EVE-like environment myself. I've taken a slightly different route than you've gone (I've been doing with a very odd combination of d20 and Whitewolf systems, turning out well).
I'd be interested in picking your brain sometime :)

Apologies for not replying sooner, I haven't been around for a few days. I will definitely look you up :).
I'm actually really liking the combat system I've come up with (I won't flood your thread with it ><). It's less abstracted than the d20 "Your pistol will do 2d6 damage", but more abstracted than EVE's to-hit calculation.
My biggest hurtle right at the moment is coming up with flavour for weapon charts. I would like to keep things balanced, but I want the Accuracy over Range and Damage over Range to be distinct and "feel" different between a Railgun Rifle and an Autopistol, for example.
</rant> I just needed to get that off my chest, lol.
Again, I don't want to flood your thread, but if you're interested in helping me with stating, I'd love to elaborate. ____ "There was a time in the evolution of all things that work, when it didn't" http://www.robinomicon.com |

Bumping for interest! I'll hopefully be running a small campaign of this with my friends soon. Most of them don't know what EVE is, so maybe this will generate interest and they will join! :)
Awesome work, keep it up!

Okay, silly question. Aside from the Dust 514 chronicles are there any particular chronicles that go into detail as to what life as a common rifleman / foot soldier is like? ____ "There was a time in the evolution of all things that work, when it didn't" http://www.robinomicon.com |

If I remember correctly, there is a decent amount of info on it in the two novels released. I'll skim through the chronicles though and see if I can find one more relevant there.
