Hello,
Over the past weeks the ship prices rose. Production costs are just under the market value of the ship. The rise in prices of components required for production is very peculiar. Price of Nanotransistor steadly rising for months. As well as the necessary Moon Minerals such as: Platinum, Mercury, etc... Partially the Moon Minarals availability in the market is very low, wich will drive the price in the coming days, probably even higher. Supposably in one or two weeks this will have an effect on ships prices and they also rise. It looks like the first speculators are buying up large quantities of these minerals just like before the Dominion Patch. For now, the prices for Technetium and Neodymium have leveled off at a very high level. Will this progress continue for far less interesting minerals such as the mentioned Platinium and Mercury? Can we soon anticipate a price e.g. Vagabond for 300 million ISK or similar?
I ask for your opinion on this issue.

The ISK/MRD exchange rate will continue to rise. It is not a bad time to invest in the Mineral Reserve. We expect Pyerite to reach 5 ISK soon, and perhaps 6 ISK in the near future. Nocxium is heading for 450 ISK, Zyd to 1500, and Megacyte to 4000 ISK.
Tritanium, Isogen, and Mexallon are a bit uncertain.

- Massive dive in mineral prices back in june due to expansion changes drove multiple miners to mission run instead... check (Downward pressure on supply)
- Multiple Wars on ... Check (upward pressure on demand)
- Supercaps and regular caps dying daily... check (upward pressure on demand)
- New ship introduced to game.... check (upward pressure on demand)
- BUNCHES of pilots about to be buying a crapload of ships they couldn't fly til now: Check (upward pressure on demand)
- New Hulkageddon announced in near future (Feb)... check (downward pressure on supply)
Expect mineral prices to keep climbing for a while. The demand is far outstripping supply right now.
I'm not even a market trader or manufacturer and I can see that the market is poised for minerals to continue climbing in price... at least for a while.

Well the megacyte came true, so far, that's for sure.

That looks like another thread reflecting lack of planet mats supply. I am really getting curious if CCP gona make a hot fix for PI in terms of more capacity.

Well they are not gona buy more ships they gona buy DIFFERENT ships, so mineral wise they will be used to produce ship B instead of ship A, but it does not exlude poeple from buying just that extra cool ship for that particula neat role XD.

They will be buying new ships to play with and will probably still be keeping old ones.
For example I have been able to fly drakes since before they were released ;) When they were released I didn't stop flying other ships (well except the ferox) I just bought those in addition to drakes... though I fly T2 more often now....
Even though I've been flying T2 for a long time I STILL keep stockpiles of drakes, ruptures, hell I even have rifters.... so yeah I mean MORE ships. Most people will still keep buying their workhorses but there will be a rush on T2 ships and T1 ships that people cross into or use skillpoints to train into. So, yes, in the short term there will be pressure for more minerals, not just the same minerals for different ships.

Some are attached to their ships as well.
I kept my first Rifter, my first Rupture, my first Bantam (!), first Mammoth, first Thrasher, first Retriever, first Hulk, first Mack, first Fenrir, first Hurricane (gifted by a friend), first Tempest, first Maelstrom, first Nidhoggur...

Might be demand going up as 0.0 has an increased ammount of ship to ship violence.
Provi, Catch, the north, and drone regions all see lots of ships being blown up lately.

Nano transistors will continue to rise, infact theyre ludicrously cheap atm even with price increases. Infact I'm surprised you can find them on teh market as much as you with how completely unprofitable theyve become. Technetium either needs to take a nose dive or fuel costs (mostly tech though youd have to go negative for fuel costs to make it profitable)

795 now. BSAC is partially or fully responsible. No wonder he/they could so confidently predict "450"

IMHO- Prices, especially for tech2 materials/products, will continue to have higher-than-normal volatility for some time. The switch-over to having non-ice POS fuels created by PI instead of NPCs is increasing operating costs significantly. This is complicated by the fact that fuel prices are by no means settled; NPC stockpile dumps are still causing fairly wild swings in supply and depressing prices of certain goods. Further complicating the situation is the fact that there are significant changes pending for PI which will affect supply..... somehow. It is difficult to say how.
Despite all this, there is a bright side for the average consumer. By the nature of PI, large-scale manufacturers cannot provide anywhere near the quantity of materials they consume (in POS fuels or direct materials costs). Along with the increase in prices for these goods, this provides a conduit for significant amounts of ISK to go from the former economic dead-end of the producer back down to small-scale consumers, increasing the average velocity of ISK and stimulating the economy as a whole.
tl;dr: PI screwed things up but good. Once it settles and stockpiles are consumed everything'll work better than before, but until then things'll be borked. *** Wish list for PI:
*One-click input routing *Copy product, inputs & outputs in factories *Launchpad upgrades: twice the space, twice the cost, half the hassle! |
