Edited by: Mako Dorgiers on 05/12/2010 01:14:56 Dear Pilots,
At 22.41 hours today, DED managed to capture a rough pilot claiming to work for the Sansha Nation.
After interogating the unnamed person of interest, DED has declassified the following intel for decryption.
The captured pilot didnt give alot intel, except for the fact he might have said that this could have something to do with the upcomming incursion treats. We also would like to point out that any and all questions regarding our methods of interogation will be ignored. We do our work for the welfare of New Eden.
Our analyst are hard at work at cracking the code but hope you are able to help.
With regards,
Mako Dorgiers Operational Officer DED Section X

i am not sure... but it's gramatical check sure did
as for any 'code' ... the only thing i can make out is a series of - probably- morse code, running along the top and bottom of the image.
((OOC, CCP, please edit the word morse to one more fitting for the eve universe... or just this brackeded bit if it is still valid, thankyou for your time))

The symbols at the top of the message are: ./..////..///.///.\..\.\..\.//....././..././///../.../.\...
It is believed that the symbols reference characters in the text. Each group of periods is a character count into a word, "/" means skip a word, "\" is a separator between groups of periods, proceeding in order through the text.
So, the initial "./..////.." means take the first letter in the first word ("w"), skip the next word, take the second letter in the next word ("o"), skip the next four words, take the second character in the next word ("r").
The whole string decodes into "1s2ssss2sss1sss12121ss5s1s3s1ssss2s3s13", where we either take the given letter from a word, or skip the word: "w", skip 1, "o", skip 4, "r", skip 3, "m", etc.
However, this would need 39 words, when we only have 37 in the text, and would decode into "wormholegenernr--", with the last two "-" indicating the two missing words.
It's possible that the author made two mistakes in the symbols: there's an extra "/", and a "/" where a "\" was intended:
./..////..///.///.\..\.\..\.//....././..././//..\.../.\...
which decodes to "wormholegenerator".

Hmph. Either DED is less competent than I'd expected (not entirely surprising, given the quality of the pilots they send on their campaigns into Curse), or this represents a manipulation by someone.
Also, does Section X only have one analyst? He must be overwhelmed.

I wasn't aware the DED had a window licking division.
You learn something new every day.
