Actually the plate setup would make me lazy because it would be a lot easier to use. But it's also a lot easier to lose.

No I won't. You might if you use this setup, but the only reason for that would be - you suck.

Is this for gangs? I feel like you're not fitting a plate because it's for solo pvp...
I see, you use it both solo and fleet, Hammerheads for fleeting up and a mix of warrior IIs and ECM drones for solo.
At first glance the setup looks decent but also noticing how you've fit all T2 mods, something a lot of raxes can't. Looks like a solid loadout. |

Edited by: Dabljuh on 06/12/2010 07:12:53 The rigs are worthless: with 3 Magstabs already, they work out to less than 2% more dps per rig. Rule of thumb: Limit yourself to 2 Mag Stabs or 1 Magstab + Hybrid Rigs on ships that might get shot at.

Actually a decent kiting vexor or stabber would be able to beat a plated rupture as they are fast enough to keep range, now a shield rupture on the other hand is a whole other story.
Quick extra although obvious im fairly sure I could kill a plated rupture in a blackbird for obvious reasons

Replace med rep with 800mm, replace rigs with trimarks and get as many guns to ions as possible.
Your fit is fail btw, no one fits reps without a cap booster. And a single rep is beyond useless even in 1v1s.

that's not really fair or true
arbitrator can rock a ruppie though it's usually close enough to flip a coin

Tony, you might have more credibility if you had a kill history to support your claims, or at the very least explained how the ship is supposed to survive (MWD, active tank, cap guns, no booster?). As it stands now you are either just a terrible alt or just plain terrible.

You don't seem to understand this setup. Fitting a plate is a rediculous notion on this ship, it is meant to be fast and be able to run the MWD for a long time to get into blaster range and spew out it's 500 + dps, and also to be able to get out if it has to vs plated ships. Excluding minmatar ships, escaping should be rather easy, but the idea is you shouldn't have to escape against a minmatar ship.
VS a standard rupture he will have about thrice your ehp and you will have, not quite but almost, twice his dps, plus the ability to soak up some damage with your rep, and unless he's fitted eccm, I will have 5 points of jam strength against his sensor strength of twelve, so if I were to get a single jam on him in this fight, I would win.
And yes the rigs are wrong, I am not sure what kind to use, maybe resist rigs? But the whole point is to be relatively fast...
I hope that explains to you why this is decent vs a rupture and if anyone has got any great ideas as to which rigs to use shout it out please. Might not be the uber best cruiser in the universe, but it is fine.
And yes reps are useful in a pvp, way more so then an EANM or whatever the hell you figure is best, anyone who says different is snorting stuff, or not playing the game at all.
And yes this is an alt.

I think you fastly underestimate the armor ruptures dps and ability to stay away from yours thanks to its scram and web

All you need to do to figure this out, kids, is ask yourself one question - will fitting a plate make this setup more viable when fighting a rupture? The answer is no.
Maybe I am underestimating a ruptures stats, Mr. Leaf, but I think you're underestimating my jamming drones. All it takes is one jam and he's got nothing after that.

Lets ignore for a second that the Rupture will turn circles around you, being faster, and that it can dictate range, thus will keep you way out of your blasters' optimals, also that the ruppie can disengage at will. Pure EFT warrioring:
Your cookie cutter Rupture will hit you with about 400 dps while sporting 30k EHP. Your MAR without resists will repair about 60 EHP/s, you have 12k EHP while doing ~600 dps. So he's doing over 300 dps to you still at a larger range. Your TTL (Time To Live) is <40 seconds. His TTL is >50s.
With an 800 plate, your EHP increases to 16k, which against the 400 dps means you live slightly longer, a full 40s now.
Un-Neuted, your Cap will hold for about 120 seconds. With 2 small neuts, the Ruppie still needs about 60 seconds to drain your cap, so that doesn't even become a factor.
Since you don't live long enough to get neuted, you are, strictly speaking, better off with the MAR because you're more agile while the TTL remains the same. In either case, the rupture quite handily turns you into mince meat.

A rupture with a 1600 plate is 10m/s faster than this, oh yeah, a real kite mobile. You charge him, lock him and scram him and you will be in blaster range and it will take him an hour to gain range on you.

You don't get it, do you. You "charge" him? He can keep you at 15kms, from where he can DPS you in Falloff for about 200 dps with his long point, while you can't do diddly to him. Lets say you get the jump and get a point on him within 2kms range. You scram him while he only has a web on you, but: Now what I just wrote about happens - You die long before he does because he has three times the EHP and the MAR doesn't make a lick of difference when he's pounding you for 4/5ths of your own DPS.

I've got a char with decent skills in matari/Gallente boats, we can try all these setup in any configuration you want there . If you are interested, send me a mail and we can setup an hour or two of testing. ( I prefer euro times or early US times in the afternoon.
Im not doing this to say later: I was right or wrong, just for test purpose.

LOL unless the rupture has no plate on, this thorax is faster and can run the mwd for longer, so no, he can't keep me at 15 and pound dps on me lmao.
Anyway, once the rax gets in scram range it turns into a slugfest and the outcome can end up being decided by my choice of drones. If I bring ecm drones (always for solo) I can get a jam on ruppy and that will win the engagement. OFC it all depends and I may get unlucky sometimes, but it is still a great loadout for a thorax.
Besides the fact that I'm right, there's nothing wrong with losing a thorax to a rupture really and the argument really isn't fair.
