Goal is to build a ship that can roam in bubble infested 0.0 and still take advantage of small sig while orbitting at 500m.
I realize the Dram is great for this but the Jag is 1/6th the price.
Basic idea would be speed/sig tank it in a 500m orbit. The MWD is for getting initial tackle and getting out of bubbles.
Is this a decent idea or will it fail terribly?
Halos or Snakes for implants?

Sure, good idea. Originally by: Truculent Misanthrope

68/17.6=3.86. 1 Dram is 3.86 jags atm. Fitted approx. 1 dram = 3 jags.

No isk for dram but have isk for implants? You either trolling or doing it wrong.
Have isk = by dram. Have no isk = buy jag, die 10 times more than on dram, and buy dram.
The right answer is: dram, dram, dram, dram (I'm sorry for repeating).
FOTM DRAM (sorry again).

Not trying to troll at all. Just working through things and bouncing some ideas off the forum. Will have to check prices again. Cheap jags and expensive drams in my end of space I guess or I could have checked the market on a bad day.
Regarding implants, what would be more useful for this kind of ship? Halo with boosters should keep the ship nice and small in all cases. Snakes would help tackling. Dunno.

Halos are not going to reduce your sig enough to make a differnce as it already has a fairly small sig anyways but snakes will at least give you an edge in speed which is what will really make the difference when overheating your mwd on the burn in.

I don't want to completely shut down your idea but I've found the Jag works best when you take advantage of it's sick native damage resist profile to give it a beefy tank. Here's a pretty standard Jag fit.
[Jaguar - Standard Null]
Gyrostabilizer II Damage Control II Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Medium Shield extender II Catalyzed Cold-Gas Arcjet Thrusters Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor Warp Scrambler II
200mm Autocannon II 200mm Autocannon II 200mm Autocannon II [Empty Slot]
Small Core Defence Field Extender I Small Core Defence Field Extender I
2941 m/s
10,076 EHP
156dps
This fit plays to the Jag's strengths which are having a nice mix of tank/gank/speed. The problem with a pure sig tank is you are going to have a tough time (read: Die in a Fire) dogfighting with inties/sabres/AFs/Pirate Frigs all of which are frequently encountered in null-sec.
YMMV

Dual prop Jaguar doesnt mean you have to drop the medium extender, and it works just fine. With some practice it has a better chance at reapproach when running into a bubblecamp, and burning off with something as clumsy as an AF typically doesnt work too well.
I'd use 150s over the 200s btw, since you are running into more tracking issues than you need with those. You might also wanna try and fit a neut in there with those nice capless weapons.

I'm no frig expert, but this was my dualprop eft fit for a jag. (funny how the idiots have the most advice to give)
it is pretty much the same (imo) as oldmanst4r's fit, trades a bit of speed and the web for dual prop. I'm honestly not sure which is most important (I would imaging it is very situational) the web or the ab.
on that note swapping for a t2 medium extender and a meta 2-4 damage control gives more EHP
150s and 200s looked pretty similar when I compaired them, but I liked the increased tracking on the 150s over the slightly more falloff and damage in the 200s. that and a nos, every frig has to have a nos imo!
[Jaguar, Jaggy] Damage Control II Gyrostabilizer II Micro Auxiliary Power Core I
Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S 150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S 150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S Small Diminishing Power System Drain I
Small Core Defence Field Extender I Small Core Defence Field Extender I

Overheated named AB gives you a bigger edge than counterwebbing, while non-overheated named AB is slightly worse than counterwebbing.
With a t2 AB (requires shield upgrades 5 to fit with the t2 MSE + gyro, or shield upgrades 4 with MSE2 + nano) the AB is better in both cases.
You might even squeeze a deadspace AB in there somehow, havent tried that yet though and not sure if the needed sacrifice would be worth it.
Also the AB has other advantages, so I'd say generally the dualprop is my favourite, though I fly both fits regularly.

Also fit nos or neut, depending on your targets.

It is a great idea. MWD + web is always the best for 0.0, but many forget that duel prop is great too, so go ahead and do it, IMO its basically a choice between whether you need more cpu or more grid. if you need more cpu use duel prop if you need more grid you Mwd + web.
