Guys,
I'm new to Eve. I just jointed a corp and the CEO wants us to raise our standings with the Amarr Empire. Currently I'm running level 1 mining missions for corps who are members of the empire while in empire space.
I've only done a few missions but it doesnt seem to be raising my standings with the empire. Will this eventually raise my standings with the empire? |

Running agent missions raises your standings with the corp you are running the missions for.
For Example, Running missions from a Theology Council Agent will boost your standings with the Theology Council. Every 16 (same level, same faction) missions, you get a storyline mission. Story line missions significantly boost your standings with the Corp you Run it for, AND for the Faction you run it with.
So, after running 16 Theology Council Missions, you'll get a Theology Council Storyline Mission that boosts your standings with the Amarr Faction...
Note: The corp that offers you the story line mission wont necessarily be Theology Council, but it will be a member of the Amarr Empire Faction...
You can always run level 1 missions (assuming you can fly in amarr space). At +1 Corp standings or higher, you should gain access to Level 2 Missions At +3 Corp standings or higher, you should gain access to Level 3 Missions At +5 Corp standings or higher, you gain access to LeveL 4 missions...
Higher LeveL missions give a stronger boost to your standings... |

To quickly raise your standings, check out the advice in the Faction Standing Repair Plan.
Notably for new characters: the Career Agents. You'll find one set in each region, so you can find career agents in Domain, Kor Azor, Kador, Tash Murkon, and Khanid which will raise your Amarr standings.

So you can do 15 missions at your favorite agent, then trek out to do mission 16 at a regular mission agent with the the closest storyline agent that you desire and do one mission there, then do the storyline, and return to your favorite agent.
Sometimes you don't need to move at all though.
Example: Raise standing fast with Ministry of Internal Order and Amarr. [Good Amarrian corp by the way.]
Step 1. Find the storyline agents.
Ministry of Internal Order only has 3 storyline agents: * Penirgman system (0.9) in Domain * Haimeh system (0.5), in Aridia, so it is a hisec island. * Antem system (0.3), in lowsec
Only Penirgman is really suitable, and it just happens to be a major mission hub. Go figure!
Step 2. Find the regular mission agents.
Ministry of Internal Order only has 4 regular level 1 agents in Domain: * Two agents in Penirgman (0.9) * Orkashu (0.8) * Bashakru (0.6) Well, looks like Penirgman is a CANDIDATE to consider.
Step 3. Verify there are no other closer Amarr storyline agents.
The closest (map or map) Amarr storyline agent to Penirgman is the Ministry of order storyline agent!
Summary: You can run level 1 missions for Ministry of Internal Order in Penirgman and after the 16 mission you will always get a storyline with Ministry of Internal Order storyline agent also in Penirgman!
When you start doing level 2, 3, and 4 missions, you'll have to figure out where to do mission 16 the same way. |

You can do the next level of missions based off of corporation standings which is much faster to raise than faction standings. So you will be able to do level 4s earlier if you don't spread your focus between various corporations. Different corporations also have different number of agents per level, and some don't even have level 4 agents so look into it before selecting a corporation to focus on. Also if you focus on one corporation you get the added bonus of being able to get good gear from the LP shop instead of a bunch of +1 implants spread across a bunch of corps. |
