I'm a space noob. I'm thinking bout making a new account through the buddy program, too many tempting offers.
How would I go about getting my stuff to my new account. I'd rather not let my 3 dinky ships and 3 mil ISK go to waste.

Open both accounts.
Move all original character's assets into one station and leave character docked in that station.
Dock new character in same station.
Transfer assets via the trade window (with original character, right click new character in the guest list and select 'trade'). |

If I log out, am I still a guest in a station? Hmm, that's neet.
How long dose my old character "live" there till he just dies of boredom after I abandon him, and just falls off the list? |

Quite true, but he doesn't say he's on a trial account, only that he's thinking of opening a new account.
If he's on a trial he won't be able to use contracts either, so he might be stymied.

Rams Trouput wrote:How long dose my old character "live" there till he just dies of boredom after I abandon him, and just falls off the list? More or less indefinitely. You could reactivate him at a later date if you wanted to, by re-subbing the account. |

So If I wanted get in on it I would have to make a new account under a new email? |

Edit: Let's clear up one detail here - are you ,or are you not, on a trial account? |

I was just considering my options.

If you're on a trial account I'm fairly sure there's no way you can trade or use the contract system, so I think you're stuck.
Look on the bright side: those three ships and 3mil ISK might seem a lot to you right now, but you'll get them back in no time at all with your new character, and before long they'll look like peanuts anyway. |

You can "give money" though. So sell all your assets, "give money" to your new character. If you run through the Career Advancement tutorials you'll get more ISK and assets anyway, and pretty soon you'll have hangars packed with junk that you're never using. Get used to the idea of cleaning up now, rather than doing a region-wide Spring cleaning every year :)

agreed, the more you know and understand how the game works, the more time you sabe, in 14 you can get to know at least the basic about how to play, 21 days and even if you can get 51 days (in case you get a plex to activate the buddy trial). you can get more and more experience, and those 3 millions will be just nothing.
word from a 2-3 months player, which tasted ratting and living in 0.0, tasted high sec mining with a well fitted retriever and who was starting to get into Planet Interaction......(altought this made me loose time, and i lost the sub). |

Oh well I gess I'll think on it a lil while. I like my guy anyway. it was those offers tempting me

You can use an anchored and password protected secure container to transfer items.
You can even transfer ISK by buying items, using the container to trade them, then selling the items.
Unfortunately you can't trade any ship bigger than a packaged frigate this way. |

Umm, i know this is a sh*t place to post it. If you give me your stuff (i know) i will hold it for you untill you want it back.
My basis for this (and some here may even agree) is that your small amount of property is worth probably less than the value of the stuff i give away to new players on a daily basis, and i will therefor not steal it.
If it was billions, i mught steal it. But mils i wont, and tristans with t1 guns i have no interest in. What i will say is that this is eve so i expect the next 20posts to involve "don't trust AAAANNYYYYOOOONNEEEE bro, this is EvE". This is true to an extent, but since ur gonna abandon it anyway, may as well give it a go. The Apostle : I want a kangeroo Captain Kirk : Silly Austrians Sarmatiko : Let me guess: you're from US? All I wanna keep is some of the junk I scavenged and 2 frigates and a destroyer(not too attached to the destroyer though). Gronn wrote:Just activate your current account! I know, and I will. I was wondering the secure container myself. Could I just "try" to run 2 clients and jetcan it to myself?
But in that what would equal braking the law?
Option 1: If I took my stuff out to middle of no where, and if #1 jetcaned and #2 come to pick it up, would that be stealing?
Option 2: Or what if #2 ejected a (almost) empty can, can #1 put stuff in it with out looking like he's can'flipping?
If I had to use a secure container, do those laws still apply? |
