I'm curious what we'll see with Tech 2 battleships, or what everyone else would like to see them be. Personally, I wouldn't mind just seeing a ship that is generally all around better than in predicessor, but that's just me.

Basicly you can expect them to be like Heavy Assualt Cruisers are to the normal cruiser, alot more ress, extra bonuses, looks cooler, etc

250m? I'll bet my arse that if the BPO's get handed out to players, they will cost something like 750m to a bill..

I think they will be alot more tha 250mil, I wouldn't be suprised if it was more in the region of 500 - 1000 mil.
Just look at how much more Heavy Assaults cost compared to normal cruisers.

Because not enough BPOs are out there, so people can raise the price to astronomical hights.
Overall the price should be going down with POS making Tech 2 components...

Edited by: Feta Solamnia on 15/01/2005 18:27:15 given that asssault cruisers use 160 reactors and frigs use ~30, we can realistically expect t2 bs' to use ~500 of em.
So, what I'me expecting here is an approximate 100m in comps needed for a single t2 bs which would raise the buildcost to ~200m.
After those 200m we can only speculate on the "normal" amount of profit the print owner will be able to ask for.
The profit will be greately influenced by the following factors: a) How many ppl will spend the time to train bs lvl5? b) How much better t2 bs will be than t1? c) What is the build time of the print? d) How many prints will be dished out by agents? e) Are they going to be balanced or will we see an infux towards a specific print? (see crow), add ontop of that that most of the ppl ingame fly caldari/amarr f) Are t2 ships going to be effectively insured? ... and other similar factors.
Assigning medium values to all those questions, I'd expect the owner of the print to ask for 150m of profit per run, hence raising the total cost to ~350mil.
EDIT: damn lille typo buggers, I will get em all! SOON(tm)...

The 'normal' price for the comps of a Heavy Assault Cruiser is around 50M. This is is WITHOUT player profit and avg. market values. Compare 50M to 5M to build a high tier tech1 cruiser and you are looking at a 10x raise. So i wouldn't be surprised if we were to dish out 700-800M for a tech2 Armageddon or 1-1.2B for an elite Apoc. ----------------------------------------------- Watch my leet everchanging dynamic signature \o/ http://www.games-on.nl/~cu2moro/evesigphp/icon.php?blaat=.GIF |

Im more worried that "elite bs" builders will try to keep the ships away from pirates, and only selling through orders but not on the market,,,,,

Actually with good buy orders and a bit of wheeling and dealing the comps for a tech 2 HAC can cost as little as 20mil, the cruiser another 6. The rest is opertunity profits.
With POS produced tech 2 comps starting to hit the market I should think the price will fall drastically so Tech 2 BS "may" not be as expensive as we think.

LOl elite frigates at the cheapest cost 14 mill wtf did you get 2.5x from a jaguar is more like 7x or 8x the cost of a rifter. enyo costs 33mill yet incursus only costs 180-190k.

I hope they are a long way off - My gut feeling is that even if they have a huge cost they will just become broken so quickly. From what I hear a fully tanked BS can be a pain to get through, and people want one with Assault style resists? Is there anything else that could be more spoiling?

Aye I agree, and it would also make the new Dreadnought class quite useless. I'm thinking we'll see things more along the lines of vastly increased range and damage for tech 2 battleships.

I can see how someone with access to a HAC BP would see Assault BSs coming out as "spoiling" (ISK greedy twonk). They gonna be rare so how they gonna upset the Dreadnought? Chill peeps.

Edited by: Jim Steele on 17/01/2005 11:27:09 id like to see T2 battleships more survivable against dreadnaughts when they are relesed, mabye some resits or damage bonuses.
Personally i'd like a Raven with 8 Siege Bays and +25% shiels resists to all. You would need to outnumber one to take it down and expect they will cost at least 1B.

considering the difficulty of lvl 5 complexes and that the difficulty level is listed as 5/10 and the difficulty increase from 4/10 to 5/10... I think the tech 2 battleships AND the dreads will be needed in the future with better resists etc :) Just imagine a lvl 10 complex. a Lvl 5 is harsh enough as it is now.
Now for PVP players have always found ways to adapt. And to go beyond the intentions of the system. So i see no great problem of uber ships like this. Sure they will be difficult to kill but they should be for the arm and leg they will cost. If they are as low on the "risk vs reward" ladder as the faction ships, meaning as weak compared to the difficulty to optain them, then you wont see many that will dare to put htem at risk and thus never use them other than for cruising in empire pimping for the girls.
So make them too weak and you make them practicaly useless.
