So, I pretty much play the game exclusively for PVP and while I have trained up alts for other purposes I really never use them. I'm looking to start, however, since my wallet can't keep up with the risks that come with my PVP habit and my "I only fly Tech 2!" attitude about it. So, I'm looking for input as to what the best way to make ISK would be on my alt accounts given their skills. Any recommendations for how to go about it without leaving the relative safety of high-sec would be greatly appreciated.
I have three accounts:
Main account - Dedicated combat pilot, able to run level 4s for Gallente and Minmatar. Mainly PVP. No trade or indy skills.
Alt account #1 - Max skill Orca pilot, also able to pilot Golem and run level 4s for Caldari. Strong missile skills, no turret skills, able to pilot _all_ non-turret Caldari T2 ships except for transports and Widow.
Alt account #2 - Max skill Hulk pilot, near-perfect refining skills for all ores that can be found in high sec and some that can only be found in low and null sec. Strong trade skills as well.
So, what would my options be? Mining? Trading? Please elaborate.

So your basicly asking "how do i make isk with my alts that specialize in diffrent isk making fields"?
Golem alt = grind l4s The miner alt can "afk" mine on the 2nd client
and your main could aswell run l4s, or just do nothing.
there, nice steady income with as little sweat as possible.

Well, I was referring more to whether or not it would be better to use the Golem pilot to run L4s or fly is orca to support the miner, or do trade instead of mining, or, if mining, do it solo or join a mining corp with both hulk and orca pilots or what?

Mining is only good if you want low effort at the keyboard for steady income, if it is ISK you are after, put up the trader to trading and the other two running L4's together, if they can, to run them faster/salvage/loot quicker. Also wouldn't hurt to have someone train up to be a good manufacturer so you can benefit from that income stream as well.

^this
or if you can't "handle" dualboxing l4s just do what i suggested, golem for l4s hulk mining (just tab to the hulk client now and then)
Joining a mining corp would probably not be the best move since you need to be more active with the hulk pilot, and joining with both the orca and hulk pilot would be a huge isk "loss" since running l4s with the golem will get you more isk/hour than boosting the hulk with an orca

Dual-box main + alt #1 on level 4's. Spec the Golem for tank/salvage and the main for gank. Train alt #2 for a Bustard and use the 30k m3 to haul the reprocessed mission loot daily to a market hub where it can be traded, and use trading in general as a means of income.
If this does not net you at least 500m within a week of playing a couple hours a day, you're doing it wrong.

PI.
With 9 charachters, will take you 20 mins a day to set extractors on 23 hour cycles. You will make a billion a month in hi sec. Its a fantasric source of passive income

Stupid question alert!!
When you guys recommend trading - do you mean to just study the market and try to find popular components at low prices to sell at profit or do you mean some trade specific type missions? I had to ask because I haven't been playing EVE for years and it never ceases to amaze me how much stuff is added.

My suggestion... Grow a pair go out to 0.0 where a drake is capable of making more then decked out CNR running lvl 4's in high sec.

But a GTC with RL $ and sell it for lots of ISK. Not that hard really and much more efficient than spending hours and hours to grind ISK, unless of course you are a homeless bum with no ability to make cash IRL.

As much as I would like the isk income, I would prefer something that I can do while only semi-paying attention(meaning not having to monitor local) so that I can somewhat passively grind isk while doing homework.

If you can train 3 characters to that level, and still have to come to the forums to ask how to make isk... I don't even know what to say. Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |

So basically you want to make ISK without paying attention to the game? Hmm ok
I can see what you will be buying / downloading soon

Since you fly and lose T2 ships, I'll assume you got access to 0.0...
The easiest, more reliable way to get started with trading is to buy 0.0 rat droppings (moduled/salvage) in 0.0 and sell in jita. The margins are usually good enough and competition not that hard. So pretty nice to start off with for beginner traders until you got 10-20 billion, at which point the income of speculation starts making more sense.

This is all well and good but I'm doing the same in W-Space and sure it takes 20 mins to reset all the extracters but it takes 2 hours in total to move all the goods around to different planets and procs.
2 hours daily for 1 bil a month isnt worth it..
