What is this JUNK?
It have a nice hull, but that is all. It is useless. Actually if you dont share it at all, I believe nobody would complain.
I cant believe that EvE is so buggless and without any kind of issues, that you can design and implement yet another useless ship in EvE for fun. And not to mention that you are moving human resources from EvE to Dust, which is of no interest to us.

Thank you CCP. I know this isn't going to be the best ship in Eve. I wouldn't expect a free gift from you to be the end all be all of internetz spaceshipz but it is useful. Some hack sites don't have rats and this will increase my chances of occasionally finding something special with it. Again, thanks for the free ship and Merry Xmas CCP!

I think it is a case of shiny is nice but I am willing to bet that a lot of folks would have rathered seen a re-done popular hull (like maybe raven / mega / apoc / geddon ..etc) instead of wasting the developers time on a rather useless ship that maybe 1% of the population will even make use of on a "try it out basis".
There is a lot better use of time to be had .. gimme a real friggin cyno graphic for example..

Though i am greatful. And weve been needing a hackin ship with bonus's.I stand by my previous comment.Hope it has a spare mid to throw on a AB since we will still need to get within opening range of container.

Do I have the option of trading it in for a snowball launcher and some snowballs?
Can i have this option as well...I miss snowball fights in huge tradehubs..And the clearing of undocks at that time was priceless.

A hacking ship is nice but I'm guessing that it will be useless for the places I go to hack because when you successfully hack an encryption item, many times, rats will show up and I somehow don't think they will overlook a ship that has no weapon slots.

Sexy, sexy little boat. I love the design a lot! Sure, maybe not the most useful thing, but hey, it's cool looking, and I for one will enjoy taking it for a spin now and then. But I definitely do hope CCP pulls a Primae->Noctis deal with this, because damn, that is seriously an awesome looking frigate. Props to the art team!

Originally by: CCP Loktofeit Edited by: CCP Loktofeit on 09/12/2010 15:28:42 The stats of the Echelon are fairly equal to an average T1 frigate, except that it can only fit one module and no rigs. Basic rule of gamedesign, if it's free it's also functionaly useless. Let the art department make some real ships and not these limited issue shuttles. I'd rather have test server geddon day with free titans dor everyone :) ------------------------------------------------ There is no such thing as good or evil. Thanks for the gift! Beautiful ship!!! Hoping this one isn't a limited edition. Still though - THANK YOU! Happy Holidays! EVE is a great game.
Also - please to all the negative nancy's out there...yes it will be pretty much functionless (most likely) but it is like the old saying goes - "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth." Someone worked really hard on this ship and yes EVE has other issues but new ships are never a bad thing even if they do just sit in your hangar.
Personally though - I think this thing will be somehow useful in hacking the cans for the Supercarrier BPC. So bring your REP gangs with you to the Sansha sites kiddies, because I bet a million isk this ship will be the key to getting it. Just a thought before you go bad mouthing it more.

LOL, what are you all getting excited about... a new ship which what...will be sitting in your hangar just for the sake of it???, is anybody using zephyr or noctis? Please CCP if you trying to make it up with something for the christmas let's not make it with something like that cause it is insulting us!

Edited by: Conrad Makbure on 10/12/2010 06:43:32 It's almost as if they're catering to the multi-account holders and giving the single account customers the finger at the same time...think about it. For a multi-account holder, just put this thing on approach to your real ship and your main pilot will escort it to the object getting hacked or whatever. That could work.
Now, for us regular folk who made the sensible decision to get one account, this is not very feasable. I mean, you can't be serious with this thing? A T1 frigate with 1 module slot?????!? Look, I understand, clear the site and come back to get it, but jesus, we travel, many jumps. This thing can't defend it's self. Does it have a large drone bay we don't know about??
What should have happened is this ship should have been equal to the rookie ship, in fitting and stats and then given a slight buff across the board in addition to this special module slot. So, we'd get one on redeem and from here on out, this ship becomes the default rookie ship that the insurance company gives you if you loose a ship - for all customers who redeemed this item durring the redemption period. That would have been a better idea.

Yes the ship looks fine and interesting. Fitting for a hacking ship. I'll still look the gift horse in the mount since CCP themselves make a huge deal about how hard and time consuming it is to make new ships for the game or talk about how new ships from the next design a ship contest can't likely be added before 2012, because the art teams have so much to do. This is why I want every hull added to the game to have some kind of real function and people need to be able to make more. It means new designs that are only used for hangar ornaments are in fact bad.
Now on to the said function. Are you seriously suggesting this will be mandatory to getting the BPC from a downed sansha SC drop? That would turn this ship from a "meh, nothing special but nice" to epic fail. Is one player supposed to sit in this and just wait doing nothing while the rest of the team kills the SC and enjoys a good fight? That would be pretty horrible gamedesign. If it only does the hacking a bit better than a regular combat ship fitted for hacking, it remains useless, since those hacking sites are likely heavy combat areas. While fitted for hacking it can't fit guns, propulsion modules or a cloak, so it is just a killmail waiting to happen, that also provides a miserable gameplay experience to the poor sap tricked in to flying it. If anything your idea just provides even greater reasons for badmouthing it in it's current implementation.

yep, another ship for the hangar collection =/ and probably won't even be decent at anything else either.
not that people don't appreciate the fine effort ccp puts in making things, but it's much better when ccp makes a ship that can be very good at one thing, but also allows for other uses, like fitting a cloak, nano fitting or any other option, even if doesn't excels in it, because it allows the player to do creative things with that item, and enlarge the game experience fun.
having said that, is the new ship any good (in allowing to fit things), or do we have to Waite for a bpo release of the new version that actually serves to do some useful thing !? (at least would be in high sec, and have less sad things like in the release of the noctis blueprint, in null.
