I build and package development releases of Wine for myself, I'll share my builds here when new development tarballs are put in the wild. Although I have been doing this for ages I'll just link the last 3 development packages and add new ones in the future with a thread bump...

Do you have scripts that build your own debian/ directory along with the rules script to put the resulting wine binaries into a .deb, or do you use the build rules from the official debian packages?
I like compiling my own wine, but it would be nice if I could get a script or debian/ directory to put wine into its own .deb and was wondering since your putting wine into a package if you could point me in the right direction.

Well the scripts are in the debian repository already.
-------- as root or sudo --------- apt-get ( or aptitude) install devscripts cdbs dh-make apt-get build-dep wine --------------------------------------
1. Get the source via git.
2. Go into your wine dir
3. Do a "dh_make -n -b -s"
4. Edit the debian/rules and add: CONFIGOPTS = --with-x --disable-tests
5. dpkg-buildpackage -b -us -uc
6. wait :)
7. Install the deb should work then.

I have tried that, works well on smaller projects but the compile failed when I tried it with wine 1.3.2 (or so) and I haven't tried to fix the problem.
Seems I was missing step 4 and didn't think of what options I needed to included in the build to get it to work nicely. Thanks I'll give it a go since 1.3.9 is now out.
