Pretty straight forward. Yes, this information is easy to find. You can look it up on the website. You can do a test refine of one minimum amount of an ore. You can even just ask a hard core miner. Still, the information belongs in the Information dialog box. What minerals an ore yields should be listed either in the "Attributes" tab or in a separate "Mineral Yield" tab ("Units to Refine" should be a subsection there too).
A tab for "Types" or "Variations" would be helpful. From there, a player can click to see the other sub-forms. thus exactly how much better one form is from another (e.g. that Viscous Pyrox has no more Nocxium that Solid Pyrox).
Further more, skills that can help refine the ore should be listed. For a new player, this tells them 1) that they exist & 2) if they have them and at what level at a glance. Some of the ore refining skills have higher prerequisites, which new players and (hopefully plenty of) new industrialists may not know. Listing crystals that effect yield would also be handy for market look-ups. This just makes relevant information easier to find.
With the winter expansion looking like an industry makeover, this would fit right in. I really wish this info was there when I was a new player. As an older one, it would be a handy convenience. |

Excellent idea, and shouldn't be that difficult to implement. Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't try to do things. You simply must do things. ~Ray Bradbury~

Actually, you're wrong here. Assuming Pyrox refines at 11 (could be 8, but I'm lazy and the yield I have says 11)
Pyrox --> 11 Solid --> 11.55 = 11 Viscous --> 12.2 =12
If it refines at 8
Pyrox --> 8 Solid --> 8.4 = 8 Viscous --> 8.8 = 8
Soon as you hit 2 refines, that extra 10% is "revealed" |

Then we need CCP to include more accurate information on the tab and the website:
Nocxium Yields from Official Website Pyroxeres: 11 Solid Pyroxeres: 12 Viscous Pyroxeres: 12
This is what's been on the website since 2004. I did see conflicting information on other sites. I deffer to the official site in cases like this, but it seems the site is wrong. It sounds like doing a test refine would not yield accurate result. At the least, the result would be off when scaled. |
