Well here's the story : I was docked on a station, clicked on missions and saw one that offered 200k for a 13 jumps trip. Clicked on it, the next moment I got 500k substracted from my wallet and I got no mission whatsoever in my journal. Asking around in the help channel I was told this is a bug
Now pardon my rant, but shouldn't be the Tranquility server the one that has the bugs weeded out ? Or at least : developers please put somewhere in the game a big big big sign : "new players beware : you can get ripped off if you try to use player courier missions as they are buggy as hell"
I apologize for the tone, but it is extremly frustrating to have lost 500k ISK out of the blue, after I worked hard for them.
Otherwise I find EVE an excellent game, I will stick around - except this experience all other things went nice for me in the EVE universe.

Petition it, and they should return your lost cash. Could have been worse, you could have bought a battleship and never recieved it. They've thankfully eliminated that one for the most part (haven't heard of it for a while). Basically, TQ was pretty stable just before exodus, but the expansion introduced a bunch of new bugs/problems that have not yet been resolved yet. They are working on it however.

I had the same thing - collateral was deducted, but I didn't get a mission. In fact, it was deducted three times over, losing me all my money, because I stupidly tried to take on the mission twice more when it didn't appear to have worked. It wasn't until the next day that it occured to me to petition about it, and the support guys got back to me immediately, refunded all the money I lost and apologised. They also said not to shy from Courier missions in future because of this bug, they'd always refund the money if it happened again, and apparently it's very rare.
It nearly put me off, too, but their excellent response to my petition completely resolved my misgivings.

Player courier missions are not the best way to make Isk and have always been a little dodgy! Agent missions are a much better way to spend your time and as your standing increases so you will get access to higher level agents that will pay you more money.

Yes, this happened to me over the weekend (only lost 80k). I hopped in the Newbie channel and was told that it was indeed a known bug. I petitioned the issue (giving the exact transaction time, amount etc) and the next business day I was refunded by a friendly GM. Other MMO's need to learn from CCP's Customer Service :D

Ever since Exodus the courier missions have been totally ruined, first by the contraband problem and now by these lingering bugs. Consequently nobody is accepting them anymore.
This is a real pain in the butt because it means I can't use courier missions to get stuff shipped anymore.
One more factor in the deteriorating EVE economy. _____________________________________________ I am motivated by various things, mostly ISK. |

sometimes you can earn some isk on player mission..I am a lazy miner..and sometimes I do pay like 500k isk..just to have someone move 1000M3 from 1 station to another..maybe just 6-7 jumps...
for me 500k isk.aint much..but its a great deal of money for a new player..and only for doing 6 jumps in a indy in safe space (Empire)...
but ofcause. if the game have a bug...its not good :(
