Yes pretty much now that Oversized ABs have been nerfed. Before the nerf I would say that they would have a fairly good chance depending on the BS spawn. -----

hmm, ill give it a try tho atleast :) the proph dishes out as much damage as my mega, its just the defence that is gonna be a problem, maybee with alot of warping in and out? _______________________________________________

To start, I think you'd die.
While we're on the topic, I never understood people's fascination with using underpowered ships to try to slug through NPC missions. Doing agent missions is tantamount to mining, it just requires more keystrokes and mouse-clicks but you're still pitted against a brainless artificial foe in order to gain money... people talk about using interceptors for level 3 missions, or battle/assault cruisers for level 4, and all I can wonder is why - if you're mining, and can fly a large barge, do you take your Thorax out into the asteroid field instead? The less time it takes, the better - get a nice Raven or Apoc for your missions :p

personally, since I have been doing lvl 4 missions with a friend for almost 3 weeks now ( bloods, ammatar, khanid, sansha ) 1 BS isn't really enuff and thats with having a wingman in a super apoc tank ( 24mil SP on his char ) and a prophecy, which we use to do 4/10 up deadspaces fine, just isn't enuff by itself. Maybe if you get a easy spawn but we have been getting 10 inties, 10 cruisers, 2 BS and that might be just 1 spawn and as soon as they're dead we get another... up to 4 or 5 spawns sometimes.
Prophecy can't handle our missions at all... not even as a wingman because if the tank has to warp out due to nasty damage or gets a CTD... the other ship is toast if it cant warp out. -----

Agreed. However, interceptors are efficient in level 3 missions. Fast loot collection is the least bonus, along with better travel time (esp. if you don't have a set of area instas for your agent base(s)), but a crow for example is as fast as a good cruiser or BC. A crusader isn't quite as efficient, but I honestly think I do as many missions over the course of a few hours in a 'sader as in an apoc with cruiser guns+drones.

depends on the NPCs. Ammatar BSs will web/scramble you like the inties. And they are quite fast and aggressive. -----

Check out Eve-i for information on the warp scramble strength of the various pirate/mission ships.
But as a general rule (if I remember correctly) the frigates generally only have a warp scramble strength of 1, but some of the cruisers/battleships have a warp scramble strength of 2.

I managed to do a lvl 4 sansha spies mission in a Cyclone so I should imagine with the resistance bonuses of the prohecy some of the lvl 4s will be doable. Took bloody ages... had to warp out three times cos of all the cruisers getting too close - I sacrificed speed for more defensive capability, and they kept catching me.
Dunno about the difficulty of other missions though... I only tried that one, and decided I needed more named goodies to make up for the amount of time and money I spent repairing my ship.
As for why you would do this... well... it's a challenge. That and I don't ever want to fly battleships. So to do lvl 4 missions, its either BC or HAC (soon ).
Interesting times await... |

Yeah, I have one of your battleship-phobic kind in my corporation. I wish I knew where you all came from, so I could burn it down.

Istvaan, the main difference between missions and mining is that missions, while at least resembling action, allow you to use your combat SP for making isk. Doing them in underpowered ships, however, is simply inefficient.
As for the topic, yes, I can make a prophecy setup that will be able to do non-deadspace lv4, but it will take ages, will bring less isk/time than lv3 and NOT be fun. There's a subtle difference between a challenge and outright masochism. That is also the reason I'm not doing lv4 in my zealot - it takes too much effort for too little a reward.
PS. Those battleship-phobic types come from the simple fact that bships are extremely boring for any PVE activity, as well as that they're slow :)

I just LOOOOVE the way NPC BS' mwd onto you doing 2500m/s, u pop them (after they raped your shield doing 500dmg), and when u open the can....
BINGO:
1mn Afterburner 1 Basic shield recharger 2 Large capasitor battery <- This must be the clue, the more cap the more dmg u do ? *caugh*
Anyways, they probably used the moons gravity to slingshot onto you at 2.5km/s.

Sign me up for that man. I can see only a few reasons to use a BC or HAC in lvl4 missions:
- You are suicidal. - You dont have enough isk to buy a BS - You have to much isk, and need to rid yourself of some. - You cant fit a BS, in wich case u cant fit a hac either. - You like stribing for hours and hours and hours for the isk you could make in a BS 5000% faster.

I use a Zealot for a select few lvl4 missions. I only do so because it's faster in these select missions.
I did a storyline mission w/it yesterday vs 2 merc bs, 4 merc commanders and 4 wingman. I took the zealot because the mission was 6 jumps away so although the raven might tackle the spawn faster, the travel time put the zealot far far ahead. ________________________________________________________
