Summary: Make a EVE Tablet client ASAP or face extinction.
If I were CCP I would be scared $h1t-less about losing my installed base of +300k accounts as desktop and laptops are rapidly becoming relics of the past. Within the next 5 years EVERYTHING will be tablets and smartphones. Of course the though of playing EVE on a quad-core SoC smartphone is ridiculous unless you're plugging your Oculus Rift VR headset into it or perhaps using it with Google Glass to update your market orders.
Tablets on the other-hand are more than capable both in tactile control (EVE is a click-fest interface) and in display resolution. Samsung's next table is going to be rocking a 11.8-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) screen = 256ppi on par with Apple's Retina display.
As much as we all love our 27" monitors, keyboards and mice, the end is nigh and we (as should CCP, obviously) should realize that change is coming whether we want it or not. EVE needs to grow it's subscriber base in order to survive and this will be an impossible task for CCP when potential new subscribers have never had a PC.
Anyway, if you value the future of EVE sound off on this and let CCP know that they must do this. |

GTFO. Tablets are nowhere near as popular as you think, not to mention game friendly. Go back to your iPad and leave games and gamers where they belong.
Oh and another thing: tablets haven't yet exceeded the 10" form factor and there's currently no reason they will. That's smaller than our old 14" CRT monitors. Try cramming the Neocom, overview, HUD, inventory and a whole bunch of other windows on a 10" screen and let me know if you can click anything. CCP gives you a pack of nails. It's your choice whether you use a hammer to build a house, or a rock to punch them in your head.-á |

Would be nice to have. unlikely to be able to play eve etc and do fleet fights, but maybe those other "little things" that makes eve fun, namely the minigames stuff.
Since this is more or less about Apps, would be neat to have some interaction with Eve via Apps. I just bought a tablet so I'm unfortunately a noob in all that stuff -- then again we were all noobs the day we dared to make an eve account :P.
Nonetheless. How about a few Eve Online minigames games to program via App n stuff?
Buying some sort of Semi-CCP/Eve Licence for App-programming could and would be lucrative. Think about all that ISKies... or those those... dollars or "Yurows"! @w@ confirthisposmed

By the time tablets take over (and that's still assuming that they ever will) they'll be powerful enough to run the standard EVE client.
So what's the point in spending time developing a seperate client for tablets? |

Within the next 5 years EVERYTHING will be tablets and smartphones. you're a fool. mobile computing is becoming more popular, but it's unlikely that desktop computers will ever truly go extinct unless they come up with a more efficient input method than mouse and keyboard (don't tell me a touchscreen is more efficiant, it really is not). things like office work are not in any way suited for a mobile platform. and as long as there's desktop computers for that reason, there will be gaming computers too. I will agree that "laptops" are becoming relics and are being replaced by netbooks and superbooks. but that should not really be considered in this as you should never game on a laptop. |

text based eve? something to interact with contracts (now that most things are also on the market) buy/sell orders, ship fitting pretty much anything that can be done while docked.
i fully support a way to interact with the nonflying in space parts of the game without the full client. Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Actually the new ipad has over 2k horizontal pixels! More than enough for EVE online.
This idea is still pants on head ********, however. |
