>> To tag-on to Siigari's points.
- Lipstick. More colours, definitely - and colours that actually match their 'square', ofc... but, what I'd really like to see is a two-tone system, similar to what happens with hair just now, for example - it's possible to have your top lip in black just now, and your bottom lip (mostly) natural, with a stripe of black. If the colour selection 'bit' had a transparent, or 'non' colour option, you could keep that semi-natural look; or go the whole hog, and have interesting colour combinations... (Some of the current lipsticks on TQ already do this...)
- Underwear. Bring back the colour selector, please. And offer style options. Having every topless-alt in New Eden sharing the same grey bra, is gonna fall-short of "excellent"... You know you want to.....
>> To tag-on to everyone on the main forums, who think everyone's going to look too similar...
- Do we all really have to start-up the creator, with the exact same 'pretty boy/girl' model, because there's a realistic chance that loads of people will just accept that model as being 'good-enough' for them; creating a self-fulfilling prophecy of clone armies...
- Loading up the creator with a message along the lines of "Please wait one moment, while we randomise your clone..." could fix that. The downside being that first impressions count, and a few emo-newkids might cry if they got rolled ugly... but having said that, I'm fortunate to have a system that wouldn't struggle with such a thing, so for the sake of others, if it was tested, I wouldn't want to see it whirling through combinations like a 'fruit machine'...

Joshua - Yes, I modelled the butt and the breasts just fine (go go T&A!) but it didn't really come out.. great.
Have a look. (okay looks like I don't have a good butt shot, but I was able to get an acceptable rump anyway. I was just hoping for more pelvic configuration.)
I don't think the breasts look natural. It's actually probably the bra, but the way they sit on the chest looks like they came from two tubes at the top of the chest where the breast tissue begins.
It looks really off.

I guess the flip point to this is that too many will otherwise go "waaaa CCP why are the characters so ugly? Fix it nao!". Too many have already wished for simple sliders which would totally destroy the finer fiddling of the precise look.
But yes, there should be more variation in the baseline to allow more generic differentiation between the same bloodline. The randomizer produces some pretty funny results and I doubt CCP want's to give that as the first impression people encounter when they first open the new creator. They don't want to demoralize people from the start.
The accessories will make a quite a bit of difference, but maybe not enough. Then again we are probably not seeing all content being released in this current version. I sincerely hope that there's lots more to come. |

Ugh, looking at a few pics that involve the shirt and breasts (now you have me fixated on it,) I notice the breasts cling to the shirt all the way up to where they connect to the sternum area.
DANG GUYS, that is NOT how shirts sit on people! There should be air between the following things:
1) Cleavage. Unless you're wearing latex or some other incredibly form-fitting material, there should be empty space between the breasts.
2) Breasts to shirt contact. The breasts shouldn't really EVER touch the shirt, but the shirt SHOULD touch the bra. Example **NSFW** here **NSFW**. Anyway, as you can see there, there is a gap between the breasts. What you can't see is that the shirt should go from the tip of the breast to the shoulder line. Boobs don't magically cling to the fabric, they stick to the chest. With that in mind
PLEASE FIX.

I definitely think this should not be linked together, squinting the eyes can also convey sadness or many other emotions that are not connected to smiling. It also enables you to do asymmetric and more interesting expressions.
All expressions use max squinting and none of them smiling.
Do not dumb it down. |

But then we enter the problem of interconnected body parts working together (natural) vs seperate changes (uncanny valley.) If we allow ourselves to move things around, things look "off." We don't want that, do we?
For every action there is a equal or greater reaction. That applies especially to facial expressions.

Feedback tiem!
The stuff below is done by pretending the SiSi options and tools are the final product so that I can make an honest review without assumptions.
My user story: As a player, I want to be able to recreate my persona with the same overall appearance as the one on the old-style portrait, so that I can help maintain the persona I've fashioned for this character.
The good!
- The face shaper is surprisingly easy and intuitive to use. The controls feel natural.
- The clothing choice I see so far are both tasteful and elegant with a very "real life" feel to them. As in, I could see someone walking around in real life wearing these.
The bad!
- The color palettes are very dark and not representative of what appears on the actual character render. I have difficulty making out which color is which.
- Most of the preview icons are either very zoomed-out or do not show what makes that option particular. Many lighting choices and eyeliner choices look the same on the thumbnails, so I have no way to check what it looks like unless I select it.
- There is a significant FPS decrease when using the face shaper.
- When in Portrait mode, if I click on the Portrait mode button again, my character's pose resets itself!
- The "face zoom" and "body zoom" buttons on the upper-left do not have any translation; I currently see the button's name, which is something like "button_zoom_face".
Wishlist
- Submenus for clothing choices. For instance, choose the pair of pants, then the color of these pants (rather than have one main choice for each color.)
- Skirts for women!
- Wilder hairstyles. Especially, especially the "fireball" do that's on my current persona.
- More varied hair colors, especially unnatural ones. Don't tell me the world of EVE hasn't invented hairdye!
- Similarly, more varied eye colors, especially unnatural ones - implying the character might be wearing colored contact lenses.
- I'd like to have, rather than a choice-slider, the option to pop open a grid-style menu that shows me all the choices en masse simultaneously.
- While I don't expect CCP to allow a player to change his/her character's appearance, I'd like to be able to re-pose myself and snap a new picture if I come to grow unsatisfied with the one currently attached to my profile.
- The return of different lighting colors
- I'd like more zoom levels when in portrait mode. Currently I have "not enough" and "too much".

Loving the new interface. -Noticed some clipping issues with some hairstyles still. -The red hair is orange, when I think red, I think RED like almost burgundy or at least a brick red, maybe a shader option for the individual hair colors to tweak them around a tich. The option that exists doesn't seem to do anything noticeable. -The Brutor female heads seem disproportionately large to the body size maybe shrink it down just a little. -I would also like to see some of the more outlandish eye colors come back from the previous version or a color tweaker for that as well. I was really liking the super bright colors. Why would anyone want to be plain in the future? -More skin tones, aging and scaring still aren't very noticeable. -TATTOOS please. -Pretty much overall would like to see some real color customization not set options. -Pure Gallente females look mannish in my opinion, same with Caldari but less obvious. You can try and try you cant be me. |

+1, looks really great! Also, I agree with you. We should have the OPTION to make it "natural," or manual.
That I agree with. Options always \o/ Fixed not good! On a sidenote, I am almost certain CCP said they were going for realism. So... yeah. Not sure why that hasn't been implemented already.

I noticed that in order to make a smile, I had to open the jaw, while in reality when we smile we keep the jaw closed, but the muscles around our mouth open. I hope they add a bit more control over this, to allow smile, grin, fierce barring our teeth, etc.
Also, the teeth themselves look a bit too rounded. Perhaps we can get different types of teeth to choose from as well? (I'm sure some would prefer a bit more defined canines lol

please CCP make size changers for body/eyes/head/lips (i found that upper lip is moving up and opening the mouth, not getting bigger), make color bars for clothing hair and eyes like in photoshop that would be awesome (i want my hair superwhite), make adjustable length for arms and legs, rotation for eyes and more hairs and more clothes (robes, togas and dresses are missing), and more actually everything. I kn ow it's hard to do all this and you done a great ob by far, but please don't release it unfinished, do like Valve and don't bother about delaying, but please finish it to the last step

It's already been said, but the animation needs to stop while actually trying to model the head, it's infuriating. Perhaps just pause it when the mouse is actually over the face and restart when the mouse moves away - or a toggle.
Possible bug - On successfully completing my 3rd char I notice that seemingly random features of the two already saved character portraits had changed! Most noticeably, hair style on both chars, hair colour on my male char and make up colour on my female char. ________________________________________________________

current avatar appearances should be replicable to a reasonable degree. this is currently impossible - on any level.
need more options/control with eyes. (shape/type)
need more options/control with face shape.
need more clothing, both standard, and racial.
clothing "tops" and "bottoms" should have matching counterparts. (color/design)
I'd also recommend implementing original hairstyles and clothing.

What? I think I did a pretty good job. Also, I agree with you on the "we need more clothes." Here is my opinion on that:
1) This is beta, so probably more clothes are coming, but..
2) Microtransaction CCP!

Step 1. Pick your race. Step 2. Pick your bloodline. Step 3. Pick your age - Maiden, mother, crone...
Having each, also come in Slim, happy, and huge size might be asking too much
Regardless, we'll need better lighting effects and/or accessories to help differentiate us - if people just take the good lookin' default without bothering to 'tweak'.

Really need a way to "reset" the face in portrait mode. tweaking and tweaking and tweakign i loose the ability to "untweak"

What would make me very very happy would be if they allowed us to do exactly this whole process, from 1. as you write, and be able to create ANY race/bloodline we like as if from new, but for our main. I'm sure I'm not the only one who, now they see the differences in races/bloodlines wishes their char was a different race & bloodline. I'm very sure it makes no difference to the client if it lets you start char creation from the beginning (race) through to bloodline, then sculpting etc, rather than just plop you in at the sculpt stage; as all your really doing is changing an avatar/pic, it doesnt give your char stats or something that could break some gameplay does it?

Can confirm this bug, just had the same thing happen to me, though I logged out without finalising the last character. When I logged back in the hair of one of my other characters had changed... possibly other features too though can't be sure on that.
Other Comments
- Generally very happy with what is see so far, keep up the good work and we'll have and amazing end product.
- will back up the many requests for an option to toggle movement, I don't find it as much of a problem as some but does throw me occasionally, though it doesn't actually effect sculpting it feels like it should and that can be off putting.
- Colour palettes need to be bigger with more distinction between colours and, well, more colours as has been mentioned.
- More hairstyles (Male and Female) Bill has a military style cut and I'd like to be able to keep it but there's currently no option other than the shaved styles. For females (maybe males too) is curly hair possible? I can imagine it may be significantly harder to do, but would like my alt to have ringlets
- Well aware that the assets are far from complete and that more clothes/accessories/tattoos are on the way but what we've seen so far covers a very narrow range of styles, would like to see some more variety - rugged/worn clothes, some more overtly feminine styles for the ladies
- Also something that I've not seen mentioned before by anyone... jewelery? piercings? we've never had them before, any chance they could make an appearance? any particular reason why not? Other than the obvious health and safety at work concerns

First, I really love the new character creator, number of options you can do is really big... I have played for it a bit, trying out a few different race/bloodline/gender combinations and only thing I'd like to see improved is to give more options for the eye area, specifically to be able to make eyes bigger/smaller and to make them different shapes...
No crashes, usual error message when trying to switch to different race/bloodline/gender (assuming message should ask if you're really sure you want to change that and lose your progress), and a big laggy when putting options to extreme on my Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.00 GHz, Nvidia GeForce 8800GT and 6 Gb RAM on Win 7 Ultimate...
A few attempts: Caldari Deteis Male --> Full / Closer Amarr Khanid Female --> Full / Closer Gallente Gallente Female (I know it sounds ridiculous...) Full / Closer

I'm running the game in Fixed Window / Window spread out over two screens.
Usability: * Camera Offset / Interface offset is ignored by the character creator - it's centre or bust. * ESC Menu is now affected by Interface Offset, even when switched back to Full Screen (which renders you unable to change it or view half the ESC menu until you switch back to Windowed) * Mousewheeling through appearance options doesn't always work / works randomly.
