Testing on Sisi today (19 December 2010) I discovered that weapon grouping has been changed.
Now you can only group/ungroup all your weapons at once [at least with a ship with the same weapon in each high slot].
I don't like this change. I am in the habit of making 2 groups with my weapons, even if they are identical. At least for missions 6-7 grouped weapons are often an overkill and the added flexibility of having 2 groups is useful.

You can still make different groups of weapons. Just hold shift and drag & drop a weapon on eachother. That button is for people who like to have all their guns grouped in one group.

TY.
You know a way to command my drone to return to drone bay without selecting them one at a time?
In the group window now I have only the commands Engage, Assist, Guard.

No you just drag one module on top of another (no holding shift necessary). If they are of the same type we group them, otherwise we swap them. Also a new feature is that if you drag one group on top of another group it merges them. Yet another feature is that if you hold shift while dragging a weapon group we split one module from that group.
Also you can group modules that are damaged and have ammo in them, however excess ammo will be moved to the cargo hold. If it's a different type of ammo we move all of it. _______________ |

Edit: note that you have all the commands when you select a single drone.
bugger, I need to have a closer look at this menu function _______________ |

While we're on the subject of weapons grouping, was the old bug on weapons groups refusing to reload (because one weapon in the group has zero ammo) fixed?

I don't have a defect on it so it must have been fixed. If you experience it again then please make a bug report _______________ |

Actually now that you mention it I might have fixed it. I noticed a typo in load ammo code that only got triggered sometimes if one of the modules was empty. I did fix that.
That could easily be an issue that would never arrive at my desk because it's not 100% reproducible. _______________ |

I have just been on sisi trying ou the new incursions. Which i am greatly looking forward to. However The fact that you can nolonger issue r-click commands (other than attack, guard and assist) by right clicking the group bar for deployed drones is UNBELIEVABLY annoying. Please do not let the next patch hit TQ with this still in it. Also, Kudos for the genuine reaction to discovering this issue :-) Having posted in in the general forum will i get censored if i put it in as my sig? :-)

It's not easy to reproduce. The typical scenario where this may happen is when you (ctrl+r) reload your half-spent ammo while warping to a gate. When you jump through while it's still reloading, it sometimes fails to reload/unload one of the weapon in the grouping. Rare as though it may be, it'll mean you'll be fumbling with the fitting sceeen to manually unload all ammo and manually reload everything back ..... and if you're in a PVP hot zone .... buh bye ship.
Well, since you said you've fixed it, I won't bother with a bug report |

It's a nice feature if you really want to use it, but it should definately respect the "lock modules" option for those who don't. Accidently grouping all weapons could kill you if you're surrounded by a lot of frigates.
Also ungrouping the weapons should reinstate the groups which existed before hitting this button. Sig removed. Needs more EVE related content. Zymurgist |

Just overlooked this. I'll fix it although intentionally ungrouping is actually really easy now. Of course you can really screw yourself over if you don't have the same ammo in the turrets/launchers.

I respectfully disagree. I think there is value in simplicity and if I press ungroup weapons I want all my weapons to be ungrouped. _______________ |
