well, I've been doing some calculations and it seems that both the Amarr and the Minmatar Control Tower are unable to support one reactor with 5 silos needed to run a complex reaction (4 input materials, 1 output).
Reactor needs 2500 CPU, each silo 750 CPU, that totals to 6250 CPU, both Amarr and Minmatar have less than that... And it seems that Station Co-Proz are not on the market yet...
I hope someone from CCP is reading this cause I think this is not intended... from a role play point of view, how would Amarr and Minmatar create their T2 components?
Anyways, I hope someone can shed some light on this

There's several somplex reactions that require fewer inputs; but yes, for the really good ones you need 6250 CPU to run it. That's Caldari and Gallente only, unfortunately.
It sucks, but there you go.
The only advice I'd be able to offer would be to simply give in, buy a Caldari CT, and haul only the isotopes you need to make it go. The rest of the fuels you should be able to transport via your normal supply chain, and the isotopes simply mean a few more jumps in empire to a different region is all. |

Edited by: Shintai on 18/01/2005 11:50:07 Well the devs know its biased. And you will not see CPU extanders either.
Also a Gallente tower isn¦t really an option either, since it gives you no woorm for couplings, corp haners etc.
You use amarr tower for military and refinery POS and Caldari for production POS. Anything else is close to stupid as it is
Minmatar and Gallente might find some space as trading outpost, simple complex miners etc. But they will always shine of the "not totally right conf"
I have Gallente tower myself....

This might be a usable solution for you.
Solution 1:
2 Input(1&2) SiloĘs 3 Chained Input(3) Couplers (need to be refilled every 30hrs) 3 Chained Input(4) Couplers (need to be refilled every 30hrs) 1 Output Silo 1 Reactor
Total cpu 5500
Solution 2 4 Chained Input Couplers(1) (need to be refilled every 40hrs) 4 Chained Input Couplers(2) (need to be refilled every 40hrs) 4 Chained Input Couplers(3) (need to be refilled every 40hrs) 4 Chained Input Couplers(4) (need to be refilled every 40hrs) 1 Output silo 1 Reactor
Total cpu 5250
Refilling your input couplers every 30hrĘs might be a pain but at least you could run this complex reaction.

I'll give that a try...
so those couplers can be filled by hand just like a silo?

No they can't, and it says so right on their description. I saw that suggestion yesterday and didn't bother to flame it as I just assumed someone else would.
Don't waste your money. True silos can be fill by hand, coupling arrays can neither be filled nor emptied by hand.

figures...
maybe TomB can work on the Station CoProz instead of the HP changes... then at least we could do all the reactions with all the faction towers... just an idea :)

What about using offlined Silos to front-load the couplers?
IE, load a silo with the material, hook it up to the couplers, let them load. Offline silo, hook couplers to reactor, online reactor.

Edited by: Khali Nephtys on 20/01/2005 20:06:36 oh dear what would be the point of flaming someone trying to help.
The Couplers can be filled and emptied just as easily, my corp use them due to the limited cpu.
I can even tell you how in a few easy stages.
stage 1 offline the coupler
stage 2 open the coupler resource container.
stage 3 add the required material
stage 4 online the coupler
Drawback for using couplers:
You also have to chain the couplers if your using more than one, once all your couplers are online drag the output to the input of the 2nd coupler and so on until the last where you drag the output to the input of your reactor. once the couplers have been setup and applied you don't need to reapply even after you have off/onlined the couplers later on. (to refill them)
They can only hold a fraction what a silo can hold.
It takes 3 minutes to online 1 coupler 1 at a time.
Now please don't flame, theres no point and I don't beleive I deserve it.
