You mean the good old days when CCP wasn't a business designed to make money and existing simply for satisfying your wants and desires? Can you give me a time frame on that?

It's pretty hard to believe, but there was a time when they cared about the game more than money.
Just cause something is a business, doesn't mean it can't have ideals.

The only part of that which is true.
Is that 30 day GTC were 150m.
And not 350.

EVE is, in my opinion, better now that it was nearly 6 years ago when I first had a look at it. If you are deluded enough to think that CCP ever put profit AFTER anything else, then you should see a psychiatrist.
Expansions are meaningful and fun, just not to everyone. Ice mining, well, what can you say.... And as for PLEX prices, well they are set by players and not by CCP. So I suggest you take it up with the people selling them :D
That pretty much covers your post, pointless as it was, except maybe to say that THESE are the good old days, you're living them.

Actually, the price didn't rise until they removed the 30 and 90 day cards.
After they removed those, the price spiked from 150-200m for 30 days and 350-400m for 90 days..
To 350m for 30 days.
This is because the 60 day GTC costs as much as the old 90 day, IE, CCP raised the price of GTC. |

And how long ago was that?? Quite some time I think. Also that doesn't account for the steep rise in prices right around the times of the "plex for.." appeals run by CCP, at which point plex prices yet again began to rise as the sellers got greedy and increased their asking price.
Face it, the main reason plex prices get higher is the greed of the sellers As soon as they see increased demand, for whatever reason, BOOM, up go the prices, and then when there is less demand the prices go down again, as they are right now.

Well, back in the good old days, ships were made of wood, used cloth sails, and traversed these large bodies of water called oceans. They didn't have escape pods though so when they got Concorded by Nature all hands were usually lost, including the Captain.
Man wouldn't that be awesome in EVE.. when you get blown up, you really do die. And have to start all over. Man the tears would be epic! -

I remember the days when there less americans ranting and spamming the forums for no reason.
I remember the days when ccp tried to do good things and americans didn't call the recipitants of that help terroists and spouted other ill informed rubbish.
I remember the days that all the americans that played were intellegent will informed people that I had great times with....
Now we are getting the trailer trash and brainwashed religious morons...
Can the decent americans please post more again!
(BTW, the only good old days were went space felt epic and you didn't see anyone in low sec.....but then there was none of the various exciting things we can do now. Oh and DJ Doby on EVE radio!)

*attempts to be one of those decent American posters...
In my opinion, there was a time where Eve was fun to play and not a choir that borderlines on work. There were consequences of being a part of this cold, harsh world starting from your initial choices at player creation. Were you going to be "gimped" into a highly intelligent pilot that had trouble flying ships or a space ace that was too dumb to understand lifting the toilet seat is a good move (no neural remaps). Making enough ISK through meager means to obtain an used destroyer, or if fortunate - a battered cruiser, was a milestone where flying a battleship was the epitome of a career (compared to "You fly a tech one <anything> - lol noob!").
Pilots were not prone to require a ten man squad, much less a hot drop, when a newbie wandered into low sec space in a starter ship. Personally I had good fortunes to watch and get guided through that part of the game by people willing to teach instead of collecting my corpse and kill mail as a trophy.
Agents occasionally required a drug supply instead of today's means of a mission popping out drugs and drug agents spawn the gates ready to catch you instantly. You were able to smuggle drugs here and there - making it seem more a darker underside to the game existed.
There used to be good stories on the splash screen about Band of Brothers (of old) versus the universe in some fashion. Yet today, if there are reports, they seem to revolve around "Blob one lost a titan to blob two. Meanwhile, blob one spit out another half dozen titans to compensate!" *yawn*
While players were competitive then, today's group seem to be obsessed with having to win (or twist a win to their favor) with any means possible. Add how min / maxers _have_ to have this, this, and that before being competitive while CCP seems to be changing to cater to this group; add how running bots to perform nearly any (if not all) tasks in the game; add how people feel immune behind the veil of internet animosity = a shallow game with potentially shallower people playing hardcore.
Just my opinion, of course.

Ahh... the good old days when ENTERING WARP WOULD MAKE YOUR EARS BLEED.
The good old days when the only way to beat a nano boat was another nano boat.
The good old days when stealth bombers used cruise missiles and couldn't warp while cloaked.
The good old days when sovereignty was all about POS spam, and most of the life of SOV warfare was blowing up POSes, setting up POSes, or fuelling POSes.
The good old days when the price of tritanium was capped by the NPC sell orders for shuttles.

In the good old days, we had to walk five mile in the snow, UPHILL both ways, to play Eve.
Seriously, wishing to live in the "good old days" is direct evidence of an inability to adapt to change.
If there are elements of the game that have changed (and that you do not like), there are avenues to propose and effect change back to a way you liked it.
The same cannot be said for a dislike of the game as a whole. You either like it and keep playing, or your don't. Expecting the world to change to your ideal is, on the face of it, self-centered and, probably, pie-in-the sky. I won't meme you with a hearty 'adapt or die', but the sentiment behind that meme may certainly apply.
