Well i have been away from EVE for almost a year and forgot most of it but i still have my account. Now the 10 000 000isk question... My main character is a industry dude with the skills all down that path but the reason i left was that i got tired of mining and wanted to do something more interesting so i tried do make him a fighter but failed. So do i continue with what i started or start a new character?

You should definately continue with that one. The extra skills might come in handy and have no ill effect on the pvp training anyway.

Industry != mining alone..
Anyway, half of the support skills for flying a barge will be usefull for a char with weapons on his ship. You also get back the SP invested into learning, which if you should have had them at 4/4 each net you around 1M SP instant for any weapon skills you want..
Without more details (where are your SP exactly) and what you want to do, no more can be said.. support Public Idea Tracker | 24hr PLEX |

I can't see how starting a new character would be a better idea than just training the combat skills you want on that character. Unless you want to have 2 accounts, of course. I'd just remap and keep training my old char.

Keep your character those core ship skills will be a ***** to train up again. I think what you really need is to find your ships, the ones that you want to fly and the ones that will be effective. Then you should put all your training towards that, focusing your fire is always a good thing, even when it involves training.
I would suggest the Tier 2 Battlecruisers, they are the best beginner PVP ships. They are not to cheap, welcome in any gang above a frig gang, Cruisers, HAC's, Battleship, Nano, they have such a wide variety of uses that people who trained into other ships still use them.
Finally you probably will want to find yourself a good corp, perhaps one that lives in Low Sec. If it is quite Low Sec you can still PVE down there with the Anoms, Rats and Missions while still being active in PVP. Faction Warefare Corps would be a good option for that. You could also join a Null Sec Corp that will have more stable PVP but a lot of the fleets will be bigger and you will have great rewards.
Ether way Battlecruisers are the way to go because they are a good middle ground between other ships with there Tank, Firepower, Short Training, Speed, Fitting, Slot Layout and Cost make them the most effective beginner ship in PVP.

Already have the skills to fly a battle cruiser on my character.
I have 2 081 185SP and want some more fighting, but need a good way of making money to fund my training and ships.

you are going to want to refine your skills, it is a little early to get into anything big, the best thing you can do is join a big active Corp.
I would suggest training a Drake, they can PVE effectively almost anywhere as well as PVP in fleets and gangs. Work on fitting all T2 Mods ang good fitting skills, also push up your core skill, weapons, tank, speed and drones. Hurricane is another option after the Drake especially if you like solo work as well.

First you need to try and define what "more interesting" stuff you want to do, this differs per person. Mining and industry related roles tend to be boring (they can be fun if you like that sort of thing ofcourse), PVE combat (missions and exploration) are just marginally less boring, they do make better cash than mining though and they train you up for PVP.
If you want to try something radically different I guess the choice would have to be PVP, and then it all depends on what sort of pvp you're looking for. Solo roaming piracy, high sec wars, roaming smaller groups into 0.0 and WH's, big fleets in 0.0. There's numerous types and you can still decide if you want to be on the dps side of it or in a support role like logistics, scouting or ECM.
Oversimplifying things; if you want to be in big 0.0 fleets be Amarr, if you want solo or small roaming combat be Minmatar. There's more to it ofcourse but as you're still low SP you can pick a new route just fine. Both those races have combat/dps options and support ships. While caldari CAN do decent I would pick something else, you're just not helping yourself if you want a full-on pvp career. Gallente can do quite well both pve and pvp but have their issues atm, I would expect those issues to be taken care of by the time you have your SP up.

I can't help but wonder how it's possible you're thinking of returning when you're obviously already here. <<<< PaxCorpus This wasn't the road home -- This was a road littered with questions that would inevitably lead to an answer. |

I noticed yesterday when i launched the game for the first time in years (it felt like) that the learning skills has been removed. I think i need to look into how im going to speed up my "training" now.
