Ok,
So I get the faction part of it. But some information is confusing me.
1. Will this enable me to have some fun PvP in highsec? 2. If your part of Gallente, you cant enter high sec of (opposing faction) so where on earth do you fight? Do you still gotta go to lowsec? 3. Someone explain faction warfare in a nutshell, I fail at reading large oversized articles.
Thanks to who replies.

1) Yes. 2) No. You can still enter enemy militia space. You'll get attacked by NPC militia (think level 4 DPS for 0.5 systems. 3) Kill enemies. Do missions. Spin around a button in a plex. Make bank. That is all.

To get any real PvP in FW, you're going to be headed to lowsec. Yes, you can get some cheap and fun ganks in highsec, but it's a very limited kind of PvP if you're on your own.
My advice? Go RvB if you'd like a similar experience in highsec. That, or break out of the mold and move into lowsec, where you'll finally be free from the bonds of care-beardom. ~

Unless ganking random enemy militia members in industrials/missioning ships whilst simultaneously being shot at by the Faction Navy is fun to you... no.
All of the "fun fighting" is, for the most part, over in low-sec.

Pretty much.
The only exception to this is (to my knowledge) CONCORD held systems. Since CONCORD is not technically part of any faction there is no faction navy. HOWEVER... your sec status becomes an issue. Enter one of their 1.0 systems with -2.0 sec status or lower and you automatically go GCC.

What is FW?
1. It's a giant war dec that you don't have to pay for. 2. You cannot enter the opposing faction's and its ally's space without being shot at by their respective navies (since you're joining Gallente you will be shot at by the Caldari and Amarr navy in their space). 3. You standings with the opposing factions will suffer if you make a it habit of shooting their NPC forces (both in missions and plexes). If you just stick to PvP you shouldn't have much of an issue with this.
Things to know about FW...
1. Set up your overview. Make it so that "friendlies" do not show up (helps prevent friendly fire incidents and reduces clutter) and make sure that militia status supersedes outlaw/GCC status (quite a few militia members are "pirates" and attacking them will incur a massive penalty on your standings with the militia). 2. Buy ships and mods in bulk and have PvP ships of all types prefit in an easy to access station (preferably a low-sec one that many other militia members use). 3. You will lose A LOT of ships in militia. Have a steady source of income to replace stuff. 4. Do NOT give away friendly fleet locations and/or friendly ship types in Militia Chat. The enemy has many spaiz!!! 5. Learn the area well. This will help you when you are looking for stuff to kill or escape from hostiles. 6. When looking for a fleet, type "X" into militia chat and eventually you will get picked up. 6i. Alternatively, go out and roam a bit. If you stumble upon a friendly fleet, they might pick you up. If not, keep looking (and try killing some stuff while you're at it). 7. Once you join a fleet, join audio and LISTEN. If you cannot figure out where the fleet is by listening, ask by typing in fleet. 7i. LISTEN SOME MORE. 7ii. ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE LISTENING???? 7iii. The FC (fleet commander) is GOD himself. He and his scouts should be the only ones talking. NEVER talk back. 8. Get to know the "regulars" within your timezone. Good things will follow if you make friends with them. 9. Listen to everyone's advice... not matter how abrasive it is. Chances are, they know what they are doing and you don't. _______________________

You're not listening...
Fluffer's post is pretty accurate. FW isn't like highsec PvP or like 0.0 PvP. Pay attention to what is going on, figure out what works and what doesn't, who's dumb and who's dumber, etc etc... The lack of any real organization means you'll have think a bit (which can be an issue).
Oh, FW is fun, too.

Khanid and Ammatar space are also neutral highsec grounds for faction warefare.
Just putting that out there for what it's worth. Both are generally empty of FW players though. I spent a lot of time in Khanid running missions and only once ran into an FW enemy. He was in an industrial, I in a noobship. Such a horrible shame.

I was podded and quit for 3 months.
Fortunately, the 25 plexes in my velator cargo hold popped too, so he didn't win anything. In the end, it all worked out.
