Edited by: Quinn Sheep on 31/12/2010 13:40:38 Just for now trying to see if there are more people interested in a like tool. If not ill do it the quick and dirty way otherwise ill see if i can make it nice an fancy and provide it to the eve community.
The reason: When manufacturing small items all is fine. You check the items needed, get them and build the fancy items you did not want anyway. Mostly you do this on your own. Now when you came to the stage of building supercaps you will have to work with multiple people. I wanted to keep track of various chars and their status in the project. As far as i know there are no tools that let you do this in the way you (read "I" in this case want)
The project (user story):
- Build a tool that approaches supercap building as a project.
- Say you want to build an Nyx.
- You start a new project.
- The project lists what is needed: e.g. component bpc's minerals etc.
- You want to keep track on buy orders on serveral characters
- You want to calculate estimated cost and estimated profit
- You want to know the rate of progression (you might want to buy minerals now to start production on time) (deadline for a project)
- You want to calculate estimated savings in buy orders against direct buy.
Other nice things would be: Keeping track of multiple projects (eg where do buy orders count) See historical profits and the trends thereof. Keep track of project assets based on location. (do i need much red frog yes?) Compare projects to find inefficiencies in the process.
Etc etc :)
Question is are there more guys out there that would like such a tool? My guess is it would be useful only for larger operations and if you like to keep things manageable :)

I started programming with an similar goal, but dropped it again soon. You have to do so many manual input for each new project, that - for me - it would take more time to program than to just have some Excel/MS Project/micro program combo. Because, once you enter the variables for a new project - nothing changes except for prices and maybe the occasional ME/PE adjustments. As much as I hate Excel - it is so powerful and has the all financial and forecasting tools onboard. for everything else I just write a quick program.

I also started programming a similar project myself, firstly it was a desktop application but then decided that it was far better to do as a web application.
I started work, did some brief designs, but then started work on another more important project, since then I've never got around to actually finishing it.
I would love to be able to help you out on this project, many hands make light work after-all. I'd very much like to make it a site for many to access, instead of sell the script off, for alliances to install on their site.
But if you don't want to some one to co-operate with you on this, I understand. Looking forward to a nice application, that I certainly believe there is a need for. :)

@Bosence It would definately be a web application. I am not sure there is a market for a tool such as this that many can use. Meaning provide the hosting and let others use it. You would need your full api key (for all members/chars involved) and there would be a lot of sensitive data.
@Lutz Major Problem I have with excel to get an accurate overview of the project I need to do a heck of a lot of manual work putting in all the incomming buy orders and movements that are done spread over several accounts and characters.
Ill just see if there is enough need for a tool such as this over the next week. If there is I am willing to put in the work needed to provide a tool such as this.

Edited by: Dr BattleSmith on 02/01/2011 00:27:08 Have you tried BPM?
It creates production orders, shopping lists and such for a team to work on.
Works very well and covers every type of production I can think of.
The programmer has done everything right on this one, well worth a look.
edit: Eve "[Sexy] Offline Wallet" script will give you graphes of your price histories and such.

BPM has this thing where it's single accounts but you invite people to become a part of the conglomerate of single accounts which is the corp. So you merge blueprint libraries while displaying whos data is whos, then creating jobs that all can see and which pool resources/shopping.

Sexy Offline Wallet probably hasn't been updated since 2007 but still works perfectly.
You may need to hack a line of code here or there, I modified the queries a bit in mine to show combined corp wallets and divisional graphs.
