The Gallente are putting up good fights. For the Caldari that don't know, 90% of the Gallente want to be on as many killmails as possible. This results in, the moment a fight is mentioned, a large number of people IMMEDIATELY heading to the system in question.
That is the cause of the infamous "Gallente Blob."
In Caldari News, Draketrain is a bigger enemy to the Caldari Militia than the Gallente could ever hope to be. Annoying role-playing aspects aside, and forgetting for a moment the idiocy that is their "senior leadership", any group that actively seeks to splinter and attack their own faction, with no intent or desire to aid their enemy.... that's not insurgency, that is supreme idiocy.
So, the actual Caldari militia is forced to fight the Gallente and Draketrain.
We have it tough, guys and girls. But, it's a game. Let's have fun with it.
PS: I hope draketrain members don't have an aneurysm from finding out that they are the cause of a majority of the problems in the Caldari militia.
PPS: Just kidding. They are so ignorant, they will never believe it is 70% their fault.

Further proof that draketrain is actively trying to ruin the Caldari militia: taking well-known pilots and accusing them of being spies.
Or is this because the Gallente agree with me? Holy heck! The Gallente agree with a logical and historically accurate statement! The speaker must be Gallente, too! No way they'd ever agree with a Caldari!

You think Hwong Jian... OOOOK... So over 270 "real kills" fighting for your militia for over a year, real losses to gal mil, over 100 losses, 4.2 B8il worth of lost ships. Either that is the most elaborate (and expensive) alt that I have seen in FW, or you are trolling and/or went full ******(never go full ******).
Meanwhile you have about 40 kills and 60 losses in relation to FW, in over 2 years of being in FW.
I'd say the more likely person to be an alt, is you judging from your very low level of activity.
Fail troll is fail.

You guys need to bring that infamous "Gallente Blob" around a bit earlier in the evening. On January 1st (apparently playing EVE is good hangover medicine) we were rolling 75 strong scouring for anyone to fight us... went so far as to contemplate a null-sec assault before procrastination set in.

There is no Gallente blob early evening. It is a late night single celled organism that idles during the daytime. |

I would agree that Gallente are up for as many "ganks" as possible, but I find very few that are actually out looking for a "fight". I guess in all honestly that's pretty accurate for likely 99% of EVE, not just Gallente or Caldari for that matter. Yet lets not take away from people whom actually do look for a fight and call what gallente do "looking for fights".
The "Gallente Blob" forms because they want "safety" in numbers for risk free PVP. Nothing more nothing less, but not because they want a fight. It's the same with Gallente, Caldari, Amarr & Minmatar, The blobs form because people are unwilling to fly their internet space ships with out the safety in numbers.
The same goes on in null sec on a larger scale but at least I guess they are somewhat forced to fight. It's also why high sec war decs, are filled with armies of neutral logistics ships, because almost everyone wants "risk free" ganks rather than actual challenging PVP.
TBH, I find it amazing how few people are out there actually looking for a fight and how many will run away from one, in a PVP game such as this.

draktrain = BYDI = every other corp in FW that is more interested in war deccing it's own militia corps than fighting the other militia.

Personally, I don't even care about that Gallente blob, what annoys me is yesterday for example. I sat in OMS on the Hey gate in a Thrasher. I sat there and watched countless frigs pass by and of course, I don't expect a single frig to want to fight a Thrasher.
Yet many were in pairs or at the very least I figure hey a few of them will team up and come get a "fight". Nope, not any of them, but you know what they did come back in?
Fed Navy Comet, 2 Vagas, Cane, Rifter & Ranis.. Now many of them, were very same guys whom had already passed by the gate and ran, so this is the "GF" they were looking for apparently.
Now, later on I managed to fight a Dram whom got away at almost structure (props to him) and shortly after that the only fight I managed to get with 20+ Gallente WT's in Hey was my Thrasher vs a Stabber.
See, this is what is wrong with your blobs, it's not the blobs them selves (if there was a real fight for them). I could really care less if people want to blob and gank ****. Yet, it's pretty damn sad when the state of the game has come to the point that most people are so dependent on the blob, that they are scared to even "try" to fight with out it.
(again I'm not trying to single out Gal Militia because Cal is same way as well as most of EVE it seems)
I understand everyone can't be Loren Gallen or some of the other very well skilled PVPer's, but with out leaving the blobs, they will never even know if they could be.

Why would you assume they're scared?
If you had 5 friends, would you ask them to sit out so you could 1v1 some guy, like the mooks in some action movie? (We'll approach one at a time to get smashedd!)
If you had 5 friends two jumps away, and a fight you may or may not win, would you not stall for a moment until they could show up?
It's a saying in EVE. "We have a fleet; They have a blob."
In other words: Every time you're outnumbered, you'll say you got blobbed, whether you're a 3 man gang fighting 5 or a 100 man gang fighting 200.
When you have the numbers, it's just flying smart, though.
tl;dr: EVE is not about honorduels, you will not get them, you should not expect to get them. If you want to fight someone, force the engagement. -Never- count on anyone to just engage you, because if you do, they're going to do it in a way that suits them.
'A way that suits them' inevitably means 'A fight you can't win'. |

We're honestly not looking for good fights, we're just looking to get on killmails in any way possible. That's the best way to explain how our blobs magically appear.
A lot of the time we're not even in a fleet, someone just jumps channels a few times on vent saying they found live targets and in about a minute you have 25 of us in drakes with ungrouped launchers ready to fire at every enemy target at least once.

Actually, I've often asked people to stay out of fights and I've often stayed out of fights myself to let someone else have a GF.
It's easy to see when they are unwilling to engage in even a equal fight or even many times when the advantage is still on their side, by the mere fact that they "wont" engage and run away.
Personally, I don't look for ganks, I'm not really interested in ganking some noob in a T1 frig or ganking some BC with 20 others. Yea sure it might happen from time to time but it's not what I'd call fun much less a challenge.
I PVP for the challenge and the risk involved with the fact, that yea I might actually lose my ship. This doesn't mean I just blindly jump into an un-win-able engagement but I will more times than not attack a larger force if I think it's possible to win the engagement.
It's about the challenge and pushing limits, I really find it hard to believe being this is a "game" and all that so many are unwilling to do the same.
Am I really that different in the fact that I actually think it's fun to go up against a very hard fight, vs playing EVE as a arcade game and looking for "high score"?

I prefer target painters on my drake for maximum KM whoring. 6 TPs and 7 Un-grouped launchers...FTW! Also it is possible to assign each drone to a different target ...
The "Blob" is just good tactics in general. It sucks when I get WTF PWNED and PODDED when zooming around in my frig, but hey, thats the game, I need to get a better GTFO ship or make more friends. Ships in EVE are intentionally handicapped to make a fleet superior to any single ship (or any small group). I like and hate that about EVE. If it wasn't that way people would all "level up to 99" to a Titan and roam around popping n00b frigs with impunity in their giant uber internet space ship...like in some other internet games we may know of. A larger force can be defeated in EVE by a smaller more organized properly equipped force...these are all adjectives that may be lacking in our warfare :)...but things are improving.
I'm not adding anything to the discussion here, everyone has good points. 1v1 is fun, blobs make sense in general but suck when you're on the receiving end of wtf pwnage and internet space ships make us all insane :)
-Pangolin
P.S. Oh and as for you Gals in the late USTZ, please don't complain when our 12 man fleet runs from your 16 man fleet....we have been conditioned to expect that there are 25 more puppies following you...whether you told them to or not...and most of the time we're right :)
P.S.S.On a further note...a few nights ago the Caldari WTF BL00B pwned a Gal fleet in Ked on the Tama gate...that was an abnormal situation in which a LOLE corp fleet got into a fight, called it out over Intel channels, and there were people active and all listening...so Tama and Nourv emptied into the Ked gate spontaneously creating the CALDARI WTF PWN BLOOB...the greatest tool in EVE as long as you're at that sweet spot between the Euro and US TZ...I guess that's what it's like to be a Gal eh?

Edited by: Hwong Jian on 03/01/2011 20:54:58 Hidden Snake is leaving the Caldari militia (again)? This year is off to a great start!
Also, "below average stats"? You are absolutely right. 80% efficiency when a majority of your time is spent solo is horrible! I'd fleet more often, but backup is so difficult to find in the Caldari militia. I'd much rather fly solo, knowing I have no help than fleet up only to be outnumbered and then find out I have no help.
Until draketrain ceases their douchebaggery, our militia will be splintered and divided. And, I am forced to call it douchebaggery, since I said this is the non-roleplaying thread. I really don't care if someone showed you ascii characters in the shape of "the bird", or if you think we're committing "treason" and supporting your enemy. If you're going to shoot the Caldari militia, join Gallente or Minmatar.
Quit trying to justify your attempts to screw things up for everyone else because the size of your e-peen was challenged and some kid on the internet made you feel butthurt.
Someone once told me that, "on average, EVE has more intelligent players than any other MMO." I can now confidently state that people like the senior leadership of draketrain are the reason that statement has to start with "on average."
Edit: Also, Hidden Snake, if you want to see how I fly and what I do when I fly, click this.
