Anyone use these much? Interested in pvp setups mostly but I'm open to npc also as I might try some mission running. This is my pvp setup, just put together so untested so far.
4x medium NOS 10mn AB, web, scramble 2x small rep, 2x hardner, 1x pdu
15 medium drones in bay, 13 to launch.

you will want some heavy drones if you meet assault frig

the only problem with heavy drones is even if i use just 1 the number of drones I can launch starts dropping which negates the Arbi's bonus (and kind of negates the heavy drones extra damage over a medium).
If I can get within NOS range i'm pretty sure the drones could chew threw an assault frig, they wouldn't be able to repair very effectively if atall, and maybe not even fire weapons most of the time if they're on 0 cap.
Like I say though it's all untested, just theory. I appreciate ppls point of view.

Edited by: Baytt on 20/01/2005 12:16:11 i used 8 heavys from my mega to kill a crow, all u need is to put a webber on them and ur ok. they do enough dmg to kill it reasonably fast. so u would probally be better of with the heavys over mediums
tho on the arb itself try 3 small T2s, all nos, and 2 20% all round hardeners or if u cant fit those go for the adaptive nano 2s, think there 15% with hardly ne reqs, i use a similar setup on a rax, with the nos running only a hard hitting bs would take u down. assault frigs wouldnt even dent it

arbi has 1500 drone bay, so holds 6 heavies, 15 mediums or a mix. 2x medium roughly = same damage as 1 heavy (depending on type) but the mediums have more speed, better tracking & u can launch 13 mediums to the 6 heavies (up to 15 mediums with better skills). More drones also means more targets to lock and destroy (unless using smartbomb of course). I'm pretty sure mediums on an arbi would be better unless i'm missing something.

Not bad, keep in mind that any frigate pilot worth his salt knows to stay out of webifier range, which also happens to be medium nosferatu range (unless you're using tech 2). As a medium nos can drain ~35 cap per cycle, 2 or 3 of them would be fairly lethal to any frigate that closes <10k to engage. 4 is a bit of overkill. I would consider replacing at least one of them with a heavy missile launcher.
You're not going to have an advantage with speed of ANY kind in an Arbitrator, so drop the afterburner and maybe the hardners and add a 1600mm plate if you can find a way to fit one. The plate will give you MUCH more survivability than the 2 hardners. You might have to sacrifice a nos or 2, but it is worth it when you end up fighting a cruiser or better and have to run.
