The last 4 or 5 storyline missions I've got from running lvl4 missions has been utter crap. Just now I got Fire & Ice; I have to move 8000 m3 miners 14 (fourteen!!!) jumps! And for what? 600k isk. At least I don't have to jump through low sec this time.
What happened to all the +4 implants we used to get? Did CCP hit storyline so hard with their nerfbat that they all shattered and are gone forever?
No, I'm not gonna ragequit, and you can't have my stuff. I need them so I can hug them for comfort ♥

Tell ya what CCP, you win. 6 out of the last 9 Level IV storylines have been the new crap courier missions. Two have been "Extract the Renegade", an anti- Gallente mission I can't do as my Gallente standings are crap due to all the other anti-Gallente missions my agents have offered to me.
The one "Materials for War Preparation" resulted in a +4 implant. So, in effect, out of 144 Level IV missions and 9 storyline missions the net storyline result is about 23m total.
For full disclosure, my missions are R&D missions, but still take a lot of time and travel to get them all done. If they had been mostly combat missions I'd be livid at this certain nerf to mission runners.
So, that's it. I can travel to Jita every day, dust off my trade skills and certainly make more money in less time.
So, you poor saps grinding toward storylines, enjoy your worthless faction standing increases, because that's all you're getting.....

I stopped running storyline missions 8 months ago on the mission runner, haven't even looked backed. Only story lines I run are for the off factions, like SOE or Ammatar which boost 2 of the 4 empire factions by a small amount without killing the other 2 empire factions to much.

Yeah, that "materials for war" is the only mission that's worth it nowadays.
I didn't want that standing increase anyway

Edited by: Borealis Nebulae on 10/01/2011 11:10:37 So that's why +4 implant prices are going up! The new storylines! No more materials for war ten times in a row.

a bunch of lame courier storylines
I dunno I've gotten a pretty good variety though. and having blockade runner alts makes it a lot easier.

Well, I do like that level 4 non-combat missioners have more variety that two hauling missions, but it sounds like the people who shoot red pluses need a hug. CCP plz fix. I think there should be a dr0n3z mission, a pirate multi-faction mission, and a mining mission where you mine red pluses as much as you do ore. How about a multi-part mission where you do a bunch of heavy lifting in a series of combat and other missions? I really like the level 3 missions where you do that sort of thing.

5 out of the last 6 storylines i've had have had me shift 40,000m3 of containers 8 jumps through low sec space. the mission gives a 200k reward with a 5mil time bonus. the mission if un-impeded leaves me with 8 minutes spare on the time bonus. If i come across a pirate camp or such then i am kinda screwed. I used to get implants and even blueprints some times. Seems CCP has fudged these completely.

I've been gone for a while, so when I got the first 12 jump courier for 100k isk, I thought WTF. Good thing I don't need standing boosts.

If the materials for war is less common, shouldn't the price of implants skyrocket?

I initially saw the loss of implants about 6 months ago and thought "oh, a bug with the new missions" ... now less than half my Storylines offer implants !?!
My last Storyline was 8km3 through Ganksec for 200k including bonus? I mean seriously?
The courier missions may be a nice change if they were occasional, but gimme a break please CCP ... I remember when a Storyline guaranteed an Implant or decent isk Bonus ... 200k for an L4 Storyline just adds insult to injury.
Can we start a petition to fix the "fix" ? |

I get shipyard theft a lot, and the reward for that sucks. I can see lowering the reward for some of the couriers, but when a story line encounter doesn't even come close to paying what a regular mish does, that isn't right.
