http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Magnetic_Pole - nothing new there, it's always in motion (not at a constant speed nor in a constant direction), and field strength keeps fluctuating (it's been on the decrease for the past two thousand years). It's not even really a single field, but a lot of overlapping ones, and how they overlap exactly determines the overall effect. _

That usually takes hundreds of years to happen anyway, the very least, if not several millennia The funny thing is that most alarmists seem to think it would happen overnight. _

Yeah, I too was thinking of making a thread about this but don't want to alarm the chaos theorists. *puts on the hat* Bit alarming though..

So they finally discovered how to manipulate the magnetic field with HAARP ...
How to PVP: 1. buy ISK with GTCs, 2. fit cloak, learn aggro mechanics, 3. buy second account for metagaming

Anyway im going to blame pollution (including noise pollution from fireworks).
Billions of fish die all the time due to pollution anyway so I cant see why they got excited over that
I do like how the religious fanatics claimed this was written in the bible

Edited by: Vabjekf on 12/01/2011 08:53:07 If it was fireworks this would be a commonly known thing that happens somewhere all the time, as there is always someone celebrating something with fireworks. Particularly on new years.
A good theory ive heard is that the government did it!.. No seriously.
About 10 years ago the US department of agriculture proposed a plan to poison millions of red winged blackbirds. They are considered a pest and detrimental to some crop or another.
http://www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/rwbb/RedwingPoisoning.html
Of course treehugger groups opposed this and as far as i know it ended there... or did it?
Now there are a lot of dead red winged blackbirds. Unfortunately some of the poisoned flocks timed out over civilized areas, and fell from the sky, alarming the populace. What to tell the masses? Fireworks! Fireworks did it! =P
So, again.
1. Government has plan to kill lots of a species 2. People opose it 3. 10 years later species experiences large scale die offs 4. Government says its fireworks 5. People accept it
I am disappoint.
The fish? Could have just been a coverup to throw people off track, or maybe they have been trying to get rid of those species of fish also, someone else do the digging=P
The 'officials' say they found no poison in the red winged blackbirds. Fair enough. Officials can be bought off, or maybe the 10 years since the plan was shot down was the amount of time it took to develop an untraceable way to kill them.
That the government may try to avoid attention from activists while they do what they were planning on doing anyway is not really news or alarming. What may be alarming however is that if this is true they have figured out a way to target specific species and kill them with out leaving a trace.

Cant really complain that its from daily mail, only linked it just because its one that popped up when I was lookin thru google news. But its been on the news all over the place so kinda a moot point saying they're disreputable.

That's awfully complicated, couldn't they just have crashed into a weather balloon?
