yeah just like a tray icon.
i am now having problems with the tool. the toolw as working fine before DT.
after dt i added a new sell order and then exported my market orders to notify the program of the change. it now says i am running with 1 more order than what i was (which is correct) but now the autoupdater thing isnt working again. the tool itself is working but it just requires me to hit export to file on each item that the IGB browses through to get results. as opposed to the IGB exporting it for me.
any idea why?

Maybe the cache folder has changed (was there an eve client update?).
I'll look into it tonight.
Also, reserving top of page for this week-ends version release

i checked the cache foler and it everything seems to be working again now.
when the IGB is going through my items it seems to get caught up on some items but not on others.
it go through normally hits item A and tells me it is fine, then keeps going through about 5 more whilst still telling me about item A (so i assume all the ones that it has "skipped" are fine?)
and now it has just gone through to item B (which looking at the order i can see it isnt at the top of the sell list and so it needs to be changed) the evetool bar goes red, but the log does not update (even when i manually press export).

Quoting my OP for your pleasure :

Is this safe? Yes it is. I programmed this software using the .Net Framework 3.0, and only with librairies I have written myself. The software will connect to the internet only to contact the eve api website to retrieve character data, not for any other reason.
However you don't have to take my word for it, and I'm paranoid too, so I'll tell you what I do when I need to run a software from an unstrusted source : I setup a virtual machine, and run the software from the VM. If the software needs to access specific folder on my machine (Eve001Tool will need to have access to your market logs), I give the VM read only access to those folders. If the software needs to have access to the internet (Eve001Tool will need it to fetch API info, not for anything else), then I set up a proxy on the host computer, give the VM internet access through that proxy, and check the proxy logs to verify it's not connecting to any fishy IPs.
Use a decent antivirus and stop hijacking my thread. Or use something like this : http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?md5=10e9977fdf330c391b5a3cf1c095ec9c
(I didn't even upload this, I found it my typing "Eve001Tool" in google.)
Also, funny you are complaining, while NONE of my legitimate users ever mentioned something like this.
Go away troll.

Eve001Tool version 1.2.5 is available (13/02/2011)
A new version of Eve001Tool is available HERE. here is the changelog :
Bug fixes / improvements : * Now the options tab will open by default when you open the settings window * The station list will now auto fill as soon as you open the settings window * I added shortcuts to most of the menus. * Corrected a problem which could cause the log to be displayed incorrectly on some 64 bit systems * Sorted the list of items to be exported alphabetically * Improved the settings file structure (This means that current users will have to re enter their settings and registration info, sorry. The settings files are plain text, so you can copy paste most of the settings there.)
New features : * I added an option below the station selection, to import only your orders from that station. * Added support for logging * Added version info * Improved the item selection window (new buttons) * Added a tray icon. Double clicking the tray icon will show the log window. The tray icon will be red when updates on your orders are needed, green otherwise. There is now a notification when IGB has finished browsing your list, and goes back to the beginning.
Planned features : * Saving different lists of IGB items into different files * Alternate reading of cache files.

Hi Bom - great update thanks.
For the next version, could it be possible for the log to be also populated when an item's Buy Order is empty (and not just for those orders that are outbid)? It'd really help to know that a particular order has been filled and needs to be replaced.
Either way, still lovin' this product! Thanks, -FR

*grml* stupid session handling on this forum, ok, retype.
I like the new feature a lot! However due to my white windows taskbar the green icon is a little hard to see. I am no icon artist but i think a green/red area icon is better to see in general, so I gave it a try. If you'd like to use them, feel free to do so.

Yes : if you have the latest version, it should have generated crash dumps in the tool folder. (The crash dumps are the only .txt files).
You can send the content of these files to me in game.

Hi, wonderful product im sure but appareantly something in my setup(firewall maybe?)or my location will not allow my buy/sell orders to show properly.I comes and goes and when it does show up its usually wrong.I have put in to much time already trying to get it to work for me efficiently and and have failed to do so so far.I have everything pointed to the right folders and my station input is correct so its not that kind of issue. If you could kindly take me off the registered list and refund my 100mil isk i would greatly appreciate it.I mailed you yesterday with the same request i guess you havent checked your mail since then?Anyways it is a very handy program from what ive read so far but for me its been a hit an on going battle for me im afraid.I share routers with 3 roommates so theres no telling what the issue is on my end tbh.

Yeah how about a way to determine when a buy or sell order has been filled or sold out? Like a function that checks for differences between one market orders export and another to see what is missing?

Edit: What would be great too is, if a single click on the icon in the tray could pause/resume igb browsing (or pop up a menu to do that) -> bump that, I only noticed the pause igb browsing button in the log window today ^^
I like your design better. I have redrawn my icons, they will be included in the next release. (Also, the icons will be files, instead of being embedded in the exe, so you'll be able to change them if you want.)

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. If you can get through the registration process, it's not a firewall issue. I cannot take you off the registration list, because there is no such list. As I've said before, Eve001Tool will only connect to the internet to check the Eve Online Api, not any of my servers. This means none of your personnal info gets to me, (which is good), but it also means that I cannot "unregister" you, nor give you a refund. I know of several users using the software in Jita without issues, so I'm not sure what the problem is in your case.
Originally by: Devoider Yeah how about a way to determine when a buy or sell order has been filled or sold out? Like a function that checks for differences between one market orders export and another to see what is missing?
This is not planned at the moment, because it's not easily doable under the current architecture.

Well block my registration key then its very doable. You said a day or 2 ago that if there were problems and a refund was needed then you would refund the isk back.Ive already stated that this program doesnt like my setup appareantly and it will not work well enough(will not show my buy/sells)for me to do anything with it.If you want me to copy and paste where you suggested refund then i will gladly do it for you if you dont remember doing so.I would rather this not turn into a knock down drag out.Not really sure why your not honoring your refund statement ive told you about this issue 3 days ago and yet you keep sidestepping me.Please just refund my isk like you said you would.I would have loved to use this program and save myself so much time with the dreaded .01 game but this is not the case.I am by no means calling you a fraud or anything like that but sticking to your guns and honoring what you stated will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck.

I'll save you the trouble of quoting me by doing so myself. Here is the mail where I suggested refound :
Originally by: Bom Barley Eve001Tool From: Bom Barley Sent: 2011.02.13 18:15 To: Lethal Entrepreneur,
I received your isk for Eve001Tool.
I also need your user id to generate a serial.
If you're uncomfortable giving me your user id (I don't need an api key), I'll refound your isk
Fly safe
Bom
As you can see, the refund offer was only in case you were uncomfortable giving me your user id. Since you gave me your user id, and I gave you a serial in return, that offer expired. I also happen to have our discussion logs, especially the one where you stated the tool was working for you, so here is my final answer :
I'm willing to provide tech support to help you with Eve001Tool, as I've done with all my users, but no refunds.

Posting to confirm that Lethal Entrepreneur is a known scammer that admitted that he does not trade anything, and that said "hard earned isk" came from a small time scam. He has 0 credibility and any statement he says should be regarded as a blatant lie. By the way, weren't you selling this char, and posting with your fresh Erectus Ereptor troll alt?
As a user of eve tool 001 I can also confirm that it works perfectly, and the service by Bom is top notch, with constant support and feature inclusion from its users requests.
It is not in my best interest that more people use this, but I can do no less that post the truth about Bom's outstanding service.
TLDR: Lethal is a scammer, Bom is awesome, Eve tool is great.

As Tutskii said, it's not really in our interest to promote this software but I have to say I'm impressed. Bom has provided a solid little app for next to nothing (seriously 100m ISK is peanuts to most fulltime traders). We should be grateful that he has chosen to share his time and effort with us. Personally I think it should cost closer to 500m ISK to narrow down the market somewhat
If it doesnĘt work for you it's either setup wrong or it's an environment problem with your PC. Don't blame him if you can't get your own s*** running properly, it works for everyone else.
Bom is honest and straight up. His software is clean and works. Happy customer, keep up the good work!

Nice try, Lethal's character auction just went up and has no bids or interest.
As I said, everything that Lethal, or Erectus Ereptor (I like em erect in latin) says can be safely disregarded as a mediocre work of falsehood and amateur fantasy.

Hey, so I've been happy so far with the product. My only question is, how are you using the dumper tool via windows? I have set it up where I can pull my cache data from the cmd line but I have no idea how you are actively using it with the tool. I am still having to hit export every time for it to pop up. Is there a way to import the created data from the .csv that is created?
If not, could it be possible to create a copy value in the log file? Pretty much what I am doing now is just setting swap time to 2, and spamming export then editing my buy orders at that time.

Hi, the tool automatically use the dumper program, if you set up the cache folder right.
For me, the cache folder is in "C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_games_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\257\CachedMethodCalls".
If you can find your base eve cache folder, then the market cache folder you are looking for is in : \MachoNet\87.237.38.200\257\CachedMethodCalls
The "257" part changes with each update of the eve client, so you have to modify this parameter in Eve001Tool each time there is a client update.
This page should help you locate your base cache folder.

I just checked, and realised I added the crash dumping part to another part of my program by mistake, so that's why no dumps are generated...
If this is happening to you on a regular basic, I can push a version with crash dumping to you. The next version is coming out this week end though, so I'd rather release it all in one go.
Can you describe steps to reproduce the crash, or is it random ?

it honestly seems completely random.
like just then i was on and waiting for it to cycle through all my orders then it just stopped working and error messages came up (although in the background i could still see the eve working through the market...)
when is next release coming out? anyway for the program to tell me what orders have expired or been filled etc?

Would it be possible for IGB to automatically pause browsing for items that are not on top of the list (marked orange) and wait for user to click 'Resume IGB' before proceeding to the next item on the list? -------------------------------------------------- The wisest mind has something yet to learn. |

Eve001Tool 1.2.6 is out! (20/02/2011)
Here is the download.
Here is the changelog :
Bug fixes / improvements : * Corrected (hopefully) random crashes * Better icons for the taskbar. The icons are now files in the "Ressources" folder, so you can change them if you want.
New features : * Added the possibility to pause IGB browing when an orange order is discovered * Added the possibility to play an alarm sound when an orange order is discovered. (The alarm wav is a file in the "Ressources" folder, so you can change it if you want) * Added "Advanced order filtering".
About Advanced order filtering : It was brought to my attention that some traders are putting up what I'll call "whoopsies order" to confuse the tool. (A task at which they were very successful, until this version.)
Examples of such orders are : * Buy orders put up with the margin trading skill, with an insanely high price, and a high minimum quantity. * Orders of 1 tritanium to bait you into 0.01 isking with your order of 1000+ trit
To correct this problem, I have added a new window, Eve001Filtering
Explanation about the columns : * margin limit : when not empty, the value entered in this cell will override the default margin limit for this item. (The margin limit is the figure below which the lines will turn red in the log, you can modify it's default value in the options.) Here you can see that I entered 0.05, which is 5%. * Exclude order if minimum quantity is higher than : when not empty, the tool will automatically exclude orders for which the minimum quantity is higher than the number entered. * Exclude order if quantity is lower than : when not empty, all orders for which the remaining quantity is less than the number entered will be excluded from the price calculation.
The other columns are self explanatory.
Here are some images to illustrate other changes in this version:
The main window. A few changes here. You can see that when orders are excluded for a particular item, the tools tells you how many, highlighted in red. Also, the margin information has been modified, so that the custom margin limit for the item you are viewing is shown.
The IGB settings. You can see a new button, "Advanced order filtering". Also, two new checkboxes, one to add the option of pausing IGB browsing when an orange order is found, the other is to add play an alarm sound if an orange order is found.
Finally, some items on my todo list : (I'm not forgetting about you if you asked for those) : * Add a way to know which orders have been filled, cancelled, or expired * Add the option to store several IGB lists. (At the moment you can do this by saving the "IGB_Items.ini" file in the Eve001Tool folder.

Thanks for the update Bom Barley, that new IGB feature will save me lots of clicking. Check your wallet for a small 'reward'.
PS. That new alarm sound is a little... harsh. (almost had a heart attack with full volume on)
