Yes. And some people moan about people moaning can you believe it.
Feed back or criticisms weather it is of the constructive or EmoRage variety is still feedback/ criticism, without it CCP would not have been able to keep this game going as long as they have. Every change will result in some player liking it and some players hating it and its through this mechanism CCP are able to strike a balance and for the most part keep everyone content just look at the active user/ subscription base, it has a slight unaware trend.
On topic Good work CCP and I like the hidden patch notes it make patch day speculation more interesting no longer is it spelt out in black and white to the masses where to invest their isk's leave much better opportunities to those that research and think.

"Full patch notes of Incursion 1.1 will be published during this downtime." sounds too much like: "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it." I hope the changes to planetary Interaction is in it. My mouse's right click button it getting worn out.

You haven't been paying attention have you?
Planet stuffs wll take just as many, if not more clicks, if you want to keep optimal extraction. It will also take more time as well. Now, if you don't give a care about your dwindling extraction rates, then it wil be much quicker.
On that note, i heard in one of the dev vids something that sounded like the planetary deposits will slowly deplete? is this correct, and if so, is there any plan to "re-seed" the empty planets later?

I hope this is your opinion and not offical. I would be very angry if I would be forced to create an asian style avatar. Nothing against people from asia but this char is not designed to be a asian like char. I bet there are many other players who will agree to my point of view.

When the patch be there he'll be ther and then you can allways flame/troll and all the usual blah blah, untils then stop spec about what woulg your granma do if she was your granpa.
Let them do their job, and if the patch fails somewhare so what? I'm pretty sure you will not gonna see any sancha wake you up in the night to kick your ass while you are out of your pod scratching your wifes/husbands back
Common people, all i'm waiting is for fix of rails and walleships, all the rest i don't realy care, it will be there when it will be. It will not change the fact that i spent 6months traing hybrids/gall just to figur that i have to spent 6more months training another race to expect to have some fun.
This is what is worring me, the rest, bah let them rool. ________________________________________________

Arnar Hrafn Gylfason, senior producer of EVE Online, said this in late 2010:
The internet is flowing with portraits and video footage of the new characters and the feedback we've been getting is overwhelmingly positive at this point, even though only about 50 percent of the functionality has been made available in this initial test server release (my italics)
This I think bodes really well for the patch next week

This was mentioned on the feature page
Quote: Upgradable Command Centers will allow players to increase and decrease the CPU/Power capabilities of their colony without having to tear it all down (existing undeployed command centers will be migrated to the new system).
What about CC's that are already deployed ? I've been looking around and can't seem to find any mention of whether they'll be migrated to the new system or just wiped from the planet. It would be nice to know ahead of time.

I disagree. If you pull a change at the last minute how can you test the impact of the removal? Software testing is very hard. The standard approach is to freeze code quite a while before release, to allow through testing.
Oh yeah, software testing is a complicated process. I should probably have been a bit clearer. If CCP are doing some final testing on Monday and find a problem with something they can remove or change that one part of the update, rebuild the update and test it again. If that is still going to be a problem it could well be a late night Monday :P
I imagine there has been a lockdown on code but testing will still continue and there is still quite a lot of time to make any last minute fixes. I'm not saying that they're still starting new art assets for the Character creator or anything :P
the opposite view of that would be "better have well-documented bugs than rushed fixes"
say you find a non-critical (but annoying), non-exploitable bug shortly after the "official" code freeze - what do you do? rush to write a fix and get it into the tree by blackmailing/bribing QA? or take the time to investigate the bug thoroughly, look for possible workarounds/mitigations and write a detailed advisory for your clients so they know how to deal with the bug until you had time to write a patch and put it through the usual testing protocols?
In most cases the first approach will probably work ok-ish - but if you are unlucky the stripped down QA process will find some issues that forces you to decide whether to fix the bugfix and delay release (by a few hours) or rip it out again (which might render your last round of tests invalid if you had been testing more than one bugfix in a single step) and if you are extremely unlucky your clients will run into weird corner-cases of the bugfix after release that could only have been caught in a "full" QA process (say because your bugfix interacts in some weird way with a completely different part of the software causing it to fail and nobody was aware of that link between the two modules).
but as CCP doesn't run a public bug tracker with detailed information & workarounds that's a moot point
also: it's just a game and you didn't want that boot.ini anyways

No word is said about adding Neutro to Sleepers. (refer to this topic: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1415820)
Is it going to be implemented or not? I think you must understand, that lack of information regarding the point may cause pilots to lose multibilion ships right after the update, just because they were not informed they will no longer be able to tank what they used to tank.
Thus I think you really need to provide some information regarding this matter.

The real masterplan is the fact that during downtime, the patchnotes page is not available; therefor no patchnotes need to be provided at all and everything can be considered a feature.
Apart from that, I have to agree with a lot of other players here.
Removing parts of a software is not as straight forward as one might like to think. If there are two features A and B, A working and B not working, the removal of only B does not mean that A is still working correctly, since the failed execution of B might have masked a subtle race condition in A that could not be noticed while B was still in place.

Originally by: achoura How soon after patching can we expect to find the patch/client .torrent on eve files? Is ccp at last going to seed proper torrents or are they going to continue trying to quietly install bit torrent dna on peoples computers without telling them.
Lack of torrents has made eve patching a pain for years, despite repeated complaints :(
It's been a pain? EVE patching has been the easiest of any games I've played!

I completely agree! Jeez people! We get 'free' expansions very regularly, and while there are plenty of things that aren't perfect, you people need to be a lot more grateful to the great game we play and the great job CCP does!

We whine and complain too. However, your point is well taken. Software QA is just as much an art as it is a science; you think you have all your test cases lined up and then the real world smashes all your preconceptions...

I can't wait. The new character creator is actually pretty awesome. Probably the best I've ever seen in an MMO, by far.
Question: that gorgeous new "volumetric lighting" that we saw on SiSi (the "god rays" when your ship eclipses the star).... will that be in ALL solar systems, or only in systems where there are active incursions?

Hi Obsidian here with a few questions -
First what is the tennative size of the patch?
Second, after trying onto sisi several times with this, the patch was almost always corrupt of failed and needed a big fat repair tool which also failed a ton of times and could not get on. IS there a way if the patch does not work or is corrupt that the individual files could be downloaded, and then run the repair tool? And with instructions of where to put the individual files and what not?
Honestly I have noticed with the larger patch sizes installers and patches tend to corrupt more and lose more info. Plus honestly downloading it in sections really makes my isp happier.
Final note, im sure im not the only one that has these problems, just offering thoughts on an alternate solution.
