CPUs that don't support the SSE2 instruction set will not be able to run EVE Online after the Incursion 1.1.0 deployment on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. This will cause players still using Intel Pentium 3 or older and AMD Athlon XP or older CPUs to not be able to run the EVE Online client.

Yay they are doing it from 6 in the morning... tbh i dont know why in the past they didn't start earlier, maybe for prep for the patch but either way its a good thing being i can finally re-design my char after like 1 mill years of being annoyed with how it looks, and not willing to pay ú10.

The developers of this game seem to believe that thay can make all the players happy! Reality is that, evoloution will continue down it's own path! It's all about keeping enough players happy enough to continue to pay thier dues! Good luck suckers! Hope all the players who cried about the unbalance of power feel the power of the invaision. If you don't have a trained unit now don't expect to come up with one tomorrow! Your slim chance will be to take out the command ship first!

First what is the tennative size of the patch?
Second, after trying onto sisi several times with this, the patch was almost always corrupt of failed and needed a big fat repair tool which also failed a ton of times and could not get on. IS there a way if the patch does not work or is corrupt that the individual files could be downloaded, and then run the repair tool? And with instructions of where to put the individual files and what not?
Honestly I have noticed with the larger patch sizes installers and patches tend to corrupt more and lose more info. Plus honestly downloading it in sections really makes my isp happier.
Final note, im sure im not the only one that has these problems, just offering thoughts on an alternate solution.
DUDE... get off dial up.
get high speed internet/new ISP, that is ridiculous. this is your problem not CCPs.
DUDE i have a 10 mb line and the area pipe (aka fiber line) goes through my back yard. No let me give you a little lesson in computer technology.
1. it isnt perfect and never will be. 2. I live in central US and downloading a patch from London UK. now there is about a 10,000 mile difference between the two locations. Now see when information travels long distances signals tend to degrade and information tends to get lost, hence bugs!
But anyway back to my point, huge patches tend to have lots of bugs when downloading anyone remember trinity and the boot.ini? yeah. So continuing the question still stands, is there some alt methods to downloading this patch especially if it is 1.2 Gb in size? I dont want to spend 3 days trying to fix a bugged download.
Hang on, Your telling me you get 'Attenuation' over the internet? Distance increases latency, not corruption of data. Distance will not degrade the quality of information on a TCP based internet backbone, only the lines from your house to the exchange will do that. Are you telling me you have a fibre from your house to london???

Any word if the Tornado is making this release? Originally the winner of that deviant art contest was supposed to have their ship added to the next add-on, which is Incursions.

I'm 99% sure that's talking about the out of game editor in spacebook in context of a dev's comments elsewhere. Seems the in-game editor is still fubar. So depressing that the side-project non-game nothing-to-do-with-the-real-EVE editor gets a fix, but the REAL editor remains broken.

DUDE i live in New Zealand we have the worst broadband ever its like ADSL2 and i have never had an issue with any EVE patch ever released, i have downloaded patches for games way bigger then 1.2 gig as-well, your isp must be laughing at you. --------------------------

Not until downtime. Gotta postpone the rage as long as possible.
If CCP is estimating another 2 hours of DT (from 7 to 9 hours), then the real number is probably going to be in the 14 hour range.
12 day skill training starts... NOW.
Good luck with the patch rollout CCP, although imo luck isn't what you really need. |

Originally by: Gretcherl Code development is always an ongoing thing and with something as sophisticated as Eve, it can't be surprising that some of the changes will be last minute. I welcome the changes whole-heartedly and look forward to all the juicy content you have in store for us :)
This isn't true at all...development goes into a status where there is a code-freeze and no one is to touch the code anymore. Any changes that would be made, would not make it into this iteration.

Are we still getting the new neocom? CCP Optimal wrote this in his dev blog about it: "The new NeoCom BETA will be hitting TQ as part of the main Incursions release, January 18th 2011, and SISI before Christmas."
but I can't find any info about it in the patch notes

Edited by: Night Epoch on 18/01/2011 00:31:14 We lost the new neocom beta? :(
Anyway: excited about the patch regardless. Screw what others say, the new character creator is pretty brilliant, and by FAR the best I've ever seen. And incursions look like a lot of fun.
Good luck with the rollout!
And let us play with the new Neocom! even if it's buggy! I liked it on SiSi and was looking forward to having it on TQ!
