My issues so far with the new shortcuts, which I think were a great idea:
The Select Chat Channel Focus shortcut is broken now. I've been using it for a couple months, and it's totally fine. Now that we can REALLY use it, when the only alternative is clicking on the chat window, it stops working.
Oh, it DOES work. EVENTUALLY. But first it spends (I timed it) EIGHT SECONDS screwing around, making stuff flicker, highlighting random chat tabs and messing up what I'm trying to type. THEN it finishes whatever horrifying process it was just trying to enact.
And there's still no shortcut for the Open Cargo button on the Selected Item window. Everything else on the thing is already done, INCLUDING "show info" which I would have thought was less important than one of the most common commands in the game.

I'm also appearing in user lists twice when I begin speaking in Delayed mode chat channels. At least, I'm pretty sure that's what's going on. I'm appearing twice anyway.

It is now impossible to filter out neutrals from the overview!
If someone is neutral to you but don't have them, their corporation, or their alliance added to your address book or your group's standings - which is most of the time - they do not show up with a background color on the overview or in space, just as a blank bracket, even if you have backgrounds set for every possible standing in Overview Settings. You also cannot remove them from any overview using the filter options.
This needs to be fixed! Simply adding an overview category for "non-negative security status" would fix it. Come on guys!

It's not like CCP cares about anything but the new sansha rats being on our "improved" overviews. Who really needs to differentiate between war targets and everything else anyway?
Fix your **** CCP.

Iam's stopwatch was made in Switzerland. That eight seconds is precisely eight seconds.
The neutrals on overview when they're not supposed to be is obviously a pretty big issue.

Just now I ran part of a Sanctum out in nullsec; I got a 6 million bounty payment and a 12 million bounty payment. They're right there in my wallet. Neither one appears in my wallet journal.
None of the concerns I raised while the keyboard shortcuts were in development were addressed. Several existing features were broken.
War target overviews don't work.
Wallets aren't updating.
It's a pain in the ass to type in chat channels now.
CCP: Requesting that something be done about this.

Actually the new overviews, if you were playing the game before the patch, DON'T include the sansha rats by default. You have to go in and check the boxes yourself.

I'm wondering if this was on purpose to counter perhaps bot programs, however I must admit it is indeed a bit annoying.

Which part of this might be intended to counter bot programs? All I see is a bunch of broken stuff, none of it particularly relevant to botting. Could you clarify?

I've never seen it myself but heard rumours of programs that could detect icons in local such as neutral or red. This activates a defense program alerting the pilot (in case he's afk). So the setting of neuts to no standing rather than 0 standing could be a way to avoid that. It was just a thought and honestly I have no idea if that's what CCP did or if its just a bug or if even such a program even exists. If it is why they are unlikely to tell us.

Yeah sure, that's probably a thing people have done. But ask yourself if anyone with an actual brain in their head would try to solve that by making it impossible to see other players, which is the only complete solution to the problem. They weren't trying to solve anything, they just royally screwed it up.
Also, more bugs: Fleet bonuses do not apply if you've just docked and undocked. Even if you jump to another system. You have to leave fleet and rejoin. How bad is that.

Your probably right like that accidental removal of local a few years ago.

Breaking news: Someone I know is suicide ganking haulers in high security space... without getting concorded.
Over and over.
Not even losing security status.
That might seem really nice, but with all the other weird **** that's ****ing me over, I don't really fancy being on the other end of something like this. I'm going to go play another game for a while.

Exploit. If someone petitions (and they will) and they catch him, he'll be banned.
Also, you should submit a bugreport rather then posting on the features/ideas forum. ---

Yes, they did get banned, as expected. But they didn't do anything specific to cause this to work; it's just happening. edit: they petitioned it first and were told that the game was working as intended.
I submitted a bug report and was told to post here, bro.

It was only for a week, and they kinda had it coming anyway.
As for the bug report:
Originally by: Iam Widdershins Other pilots that are not set with standings with their alliance, corporation, or self by the player¦s alliance, corporation, or self do not fall into any overview settings category.
This means that if the player wishes to have neutrals appear with a background color to make them more visible cannot do so. It also means that overviews that are set to not show neutrals do not work, and neutrals always appear.
Adding an entry in overview states and appearance for pilots that have non-negative security status would fix this issue
Note: Adding an entry for non-negative security status actually wouldn't fix the problem entirely, because of the way overview filters work. If someone falls into any of the unchecked categories, they are never shown.
The response I got informed me that CCP actually intended that nobody actually be Neutral until they are explicitly set to that standing. It appears that they are unaware of the ways that players actually use the tools they have provided for their overviews. I myself rely on neutrals having a background color so I can see when someone warps in on me immediately, instead of having to look at all the little icons on the left to see if one of them is a ship.
I replied:
Originally by: Iam Widdershins This is a serious issue that breaks several commonly-used features, and it needs to be addressed. War target overviews can no longer filter out non-wartargets, and it is impossible to make all player ships have a background making them easily visible on the overview. Everyone I have talked to has agreed that this is a problem. Please consider changing it.
In reply, BH Newmind told me that the people who handle the bug reports can't be heard or make the call, and that if we want to be heard by the devs about how awful these features are we need to post on the forums.
If you think that being able to tell whether someone was added to your address book as a neutral is more important than being able to filter out everything but fleet members to rep, or war targets to kill in your overview, then be happy. You now have that dubious pleasure. Otherwise, please make yourself heard here.

Bumping to remind CCP that my war target overview should only have war targets on friday, otherwise I'm going to go to Iceland and remind them with nail-studded 2x4.

Looks like it's time for a trip to the Home Depot Oto, because they didn't fix it.

I'm gunna go ahead and put my 2 cents in on this. I understand that CCP is under alot of pressure to do something to combat the frequency of High Sec war decs, as the outcry against us "griefers" has reached epic levels in the past few months.
Now whether or not this was an intended nerf to High Sec war declaring corporations or not, this is an incredibly detrimental new addition to the game. Prior to the patch it was possible to not display pilots in your overview unless they were set red, blue, or were war targets.
This latest patch changed the definition of what a "neutral" is, and subsequently the overview will display all pilots in your overview who have NO standing to you. To get these pilots removed from your overview, you would need to set them, their corporation, or alliance to NEUTRAL (something which, for 7 years, has been a DEFAULT standing if no other standings were set) and then go into your overview and select to have neutrals removed from your overview.
Having said that, the defence to this argument is going to be "yeh, but CCP just increased the amount of contacts your address book can hold"....does CCP really wish for us to strain their database with 1024 address book entries just so we can ensure that our overviews are clean?
Give us back the old overviews...do NOT let this go untouched like the Cyno effect and Engine Trails. |

This would be especially nice, since the issue with the Set Chat Channel Focus keyboard shortcut is still very much at large. I have not received a response to my revised bug report since I updated the reproduction steps to be more explicit.
