I have finished my first bond. Linkage
I will keep the description for this second bond short as possible.
- The bond will revolve around station trading with more hauling than previous bond.
- This bond will involve an expansion of business strategy compared with first bond.
- A small portion of the bond will be used for experimental purposes. i.e. things I haven't tried in the past.
- Bond will pay out 30 days after payment received.
Due to my recent involvement in Universal Railways, I will not be able to fully collateralize a 3B isk bond, as I need the profits from the previous bond to use as collateral for courier contracts (I know it's not as profitable, but I like the idea of it all), however 3B isk is my goal for this bond and I can collateralize up to 2B of it, though I prefer not to. I would like investors to invest in 500M intervals.
Therefore, I propose the following: - Up to 3 Billion is available to be filled at 10% interest with no collateral.
- 2B of that 3B is to be available to be filled at 5% with 110% collateral to third party (Vaerah will be asked first). The collateral will this time be an assortment of goods, and not just a bunch of robotics. This 2B portion of this bond can also be filled as the other 1B portion at 10% with no collateral.
So here's what you can do now: - Reserve spots. To make a bid, post the amount you wish to fill, the percent interest, and the percentage collateral you would require. (Example: 1B, 5%, collateralized 110%)
- I'll give the spots to bidders in the following order: Collateral needed (lower bids win), percent interest (lower bid wins), Amount filled (higher bid wins, less investors = easier)
Don't send me any ISK until bond is filled and I have verified the top bids.
Winning bids: (This could be you)
No spreadsheet joke this time.
Questions, comments, investors?

I'll fill the collateralised portion please. 2bil @ 5% with 110% collateral. Depending on how I rate the collateral I would also be interested in filling the uncollateralised portion.

Thanks again RAW and Flakey. It looks like this one is off to a smooth start.
I'll fetch up some collateral later in the day, post what that collateral actually is, and find someone to secure it.

Raw has got the full amount and since he also does collateralised loans and has a decent reputation with that you don't 'need' to find anyone to hold it.Just contact raw and set up a contract for 2 billion with the items in it or trade it.
No need to get an extra person in if he is the only one involved in the secured deal.
When raw has confirmed his secured part is covered i will send my 1B part.

Collateral Contract has been set up to RAW. Everything looks good so he should accept the terms and post relatively soon. Bond is likely to begin Jan 21st and pay out on or before February 21st. I'll provide weekly updates of interesting stuff, as in my previous bond. :)

Week 1 update:
Volume is not as high as my previous bond at this point in time, however, they are still quite decent. The difference I believe is that even though this operation has expanded in scale upon the first bond, with classes starting up again and a busy RL schedule, I have not been able to modify orders throughout the day as with the previous bond. I still expect excellent performance however, and the bond is moving along quite well.
Highlights for week 1:
-Bond worth is up about 10%
-Hauling is going well, but quite a bit of effort picking out which products actually need to be hauled to another hub and which are better to just sell right away.
-Trading in mostly ships, the market can be very interesting.
Thoughts for week 2:
-It might be worth it to get off my butt and go check out these incursions and find a way to profit.
-Expand into more products
-Looking for an increase in bond value from this week of 10%-15%
See you in a week with more updates!

Week 2 Update!
I know you've all been waiting for it, so here it is!
The ever awaited Week 2 Update. This week's report includes the usual rundown of fun and profit.
Weekly Summary: This week saw decent station trading, and though I did get out to one incursion, I did not fully take advantage of the opportunity to profit from trading within that incursion. Product expansion was successful as a shift in strategy allowed me to almost double the number of items I am trading in.
-For the week, there was an approximate 13% increase in the value of this bond. This is right within my goal range of 10%-15% for the week, so I'm quite pleased with that.
-Over 60M lost in brokers fees and transaction taxes this week.
Goals for next week include:
-Another increase of 10-15% in the value of this bond.
-Continuation of expansion and reinvestment
One final note for week two:
-The collateral being used for this bond should be making pretty hefty profits itself. I am quite pleased by this.

Glad to see you are doing well.
Thanks for the updates , allthough not spcifically needed they are a welcome extra for an investor to read up on what the person he invested in is doing and especially how well he is doing in making a profit for his own too.

I'm glad you appreciate the updates. While reading through MD and looking at bonds, I do always notice that successful bonds are generally run in such a way that ISK goes into the bond from the investors and then when the time period is over, the ISK comes right back out to the investors with interest. While I think that a standard structure of no interim reporting isn't so bad, I prefer to let investors and others see how the bond is going and what the successes and struggles are. Because my strategy is mostly station trading in hubs, I don't think I have anything to fear about losing any sort of profits from reporting.
Another reason for the weekly reports is that it forces me as a bond maker to create goals which are public and therefore should be met, as well as forces me to evaluate progress. Weekly reports also allow me to include interesting, but nonessential information to improve the "fun factor" of investing, such as an opportunity that was missed or how much my broker fees happened to be. All in all, I just think it's a good idea to let people know what's up...

I thought the main purpose of most non-scam bonds (especially collateralized ones) was to give people an excuse to prattle on about their affairs.

Did someone call for an excuse to prattle on about affairs!??
Well.. I can certainly do that some more!
Week 3 update!
This weekend saw an overall gain of another roughly 12%, or in terms of the original loan size about 25%.
-This week, a new strategy was employed. Regional buy orders (mostly not in The Forge). -These regional buy orders were added to my already station trading and hauling activities, though hauling between 2 stations was cut back. -The regional buy orders were largely successful, with some items pulling in 30% or more profit. -The downside has been getting the darn orders. I ran a 60 jump flight yesterday collecting everything. That's not including docking and warping to gates. So much flying.
-The other trading is still going well too, so that's all good, though my time to play this week was not as high as I would have liked it to be due to real life constraints from work and school.
-My best trading item this week has been the Ishtar (queue Ishtar rush).
Plans for next week, the final week:
- I recently (today) lost my job due to unannounced office policies! This means I will have many extra hours in my evenings to update my trade windows and fly my ship around picking up regional orders. - I will by the end of next Friday, liquidate at least 3.2 Billion ISK to serve as payment to my investors. - I will formulate my next bond strategy, most or all of which will again be collateralized.
How I currently feel about my collateral: Well... it seems to be doing freaking awesome. I invested a large portion of it in Trit. Some other parts in other minerals. The rest in ships. Everything has gone up.

Edited by: Kei Darker on 15/02/2011 22:48:13 Edited by: Kei Darker on 15/02/2011 22:47:00 This bond has now been paid out as follows:
To RAW: 2,100,000,000 ISK To Flakeys: 1,100,000,000 ISK
Final Report on Bond 2:
Final Bond NAV before payout: Roughly 4.5B , or 150% of starting value. Not too bad, I know better than to brag though. :P
Awaiting collateral back from RAW, which will be swapped for different collateral, then Bond 3 will begin Sunday. I expect to have made quite a few million ISK on the appreciation of value of my collateral, as it was mostly minerals and ships which went up a lot in value since this time last month.
Thanks again to investors and those who read my updates.

I will not invest in your next offer , not because of lack of trust but because i have dived into trade again and as such could use it myself.
