During the Character Creation you have a whole body, legs and feet and have to dress it. Will we at some point be seeing the rest of the body in-game?
Should we worry about how the rest of the character looks at this time or will we be able to update the character again at some point and time?

Eventually, whenever Incarna is released as an expansion then the whole body thing will be relevant. CCP have said that more options are on the way, most likely in future expansions/patches so you'll have a chance to update and expand upon your current character, add scars, more hairstyles, clothes and such like. ------------------------------------------------ Quafe is people! |

Sweet, thanks for the update!

I think its pretty cool that we all have access to a new character creation tool. However, it seems odd to me that it is implemented before walking in station. Why not roll it out all at once?
It just seems like a PR nightmare waiting to happen. Once WIS is implemented, many people will want a second crack at using the tool, especially to create a new portrait. Maybe CCP has planned for this, though. Won't know until then, I guess.

We will be introducing the ability to repeatedly recustomize characters in a future release. The current plan is to introduce this at the same time as we release tattoos, scars and piercings so players can take advantage of these new assets. We are still in the early design phase, so we don't have any more details at present. Expect a devblog explaining more in the coming weeks.
My guess is it isn't being released right now because they're trying to incrementally release stuff they are confident is pretty much in working order over time to be able to tweak it as they finish up other stuff so there's not a mass panic of trying to fix a bunch of stuff all at once. I kinda like the new way they're releasing stuff, a lot more minor things to fix as opposed to a huge patch with a buttload of broken stuff, not so minor to fix. - - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring

implementing it at the same time as walking in stations would involve delaying it till the summer, and i think there's no real reason to delay it to release at the same time if it's (mostly) done
they're going to be allowing people to redo their avatars/portraits more with incarna too supposedly, so i wouldn't worry about that _____________________ Look down. Back up. Where are you? You're on a forum, with the alt your alt could post like. |

Ack, I just read that blog post and missed that part. Thanks. Well, that makes sense.

Will there be a Professor X option?

With all the thought that was obviously put into this new character creation system (accessories, implants, cosmetics, helmets...I'm looking at you), it remains to be pointed out that we are all the same height. No, really, think about it. No height slider. At all. When ambulation comes out, we will all be the same height.
-OR-
Our characters' shapes will be distorted in the future if they add a height slider later, turning this expansion into, effectively, a bad alpha test of an unfinished product.
If you factor in the lack of accessories, implants, cosmetics, and helmets mentioned parenthetically above along with the lack of color palette selection for our clothing and no height slider, it becomes readily apparent to those who play (or once played) it that a certain superhero MMO beat this new-fangled CCP character creation system back in 2004.
How is this even possible?

Body proportion slider are a very bad idea. Why? Look at STO (pvp dwarfs)
As long as the different bloodlines have different heights I think you won't notice.

But I thought CCP's stance has always been, "No PVP in stations."
Plus, nobody said they had to allow us to make munchkins. It just seems absurd that so many huge things were overlooked. The original character creator was more robust than what we were served.
The superhero game character creator was more robust than this new one in 2004.
How can I not notice? |
