It would seem that 99% of people haven't figured this out yet.
TO PRODUCE P3 DON'T USE 4 ECUS TO PRODUCE P3 DON'T USE 4 ECUS TO PRODUCE P3 DON'T USE 4 ECUS
Stagger your P0 gathering on a few ECUs alternating the P0 each cycle.
You'll get yields similar or better to what you had pre-patch.
If you can't make it work, go play WoW. This just in, the energizer bunny has been arrested and charged with battery. |

How can I reach all type resources with one ECU? I think u living in dream planet which all resources in one spot. Usually sources kms far from eachothers others, triples the ECU range. Wat we gonna do ? demolish old ECU build new one each time for new type resources? ohh yeah ECU s are free

45Kisk may not be free, but it's close enough to it.

Or you know, you could use a modicum of thought, and use two extractors. If you can't find a planet where you can cover 4 materials with two extractors well..... I guess you have trouble getting dressed in the morning too.
but maybe that's why they'll call me Dr. in a year or so, and you'll be asking if they'd like fries with that.

I suspect they'll be calling you douchebag too, and you probably didn't have to wait a year either.

It's still a nerf if you have to do way more work to do what you could before. You don't just have to move your extractor, you'd also have to change all your routes every time. The reason I didn't do PI before was because it was too many clicks for too little profit (at least in high sec). Seems the new system has given us the option of much fewer clicks at the cost of even lower profit. I like the new concept, but the balancing is definitely off.

Considering the pitiful entry requirements of skills & isk and the abundance of planets, do you actually think that PI is going to be any kind of cash cow in it's current form?
For a one week old player doing Lv2 missions, PI is big money. If you're steamrolling Lv4s with a 60Msp character, not so much.

Depends. If you picked correctly, one L1 mission could give you a couple armor plates and blow a days' worth of low-SP PI out of the water. (Well, ok, maybe if you set the shortest cycle time you might have better results, but I thought the whole point of the update was to reduce the number of clicks and effort to do PI. When I first started PI, I was playing way too much EVE and I had the free time to run 6 planets on 5 hour cycles. It just got old way too fast.)

I don't think the Devs have actually said wether this version PI is what they originally intended or if this is some sort of fix to the Tyranis edition of PI. I'm pretty sure they never said they wanted to make it easier than it was. For that matter, I don't think they could have made it much easier and still have anything left to do since there was ZERO thought involved once your colony was established; just click click click ad. inf.
If it is a fix rather than the original vision realised, I prefer to think of it as having changed from a mindless clickfest to a mindfull mini profession.

As I said, I like the new concept, it's the balancing (PG intensiveness of the extractor thinigies, low output of long cycles) that gets me. You can have way too many planets for that level and frequency of micro-management to be fun, and even if you do pull it off, you make what a couple million per day in high sec?
