OK, So they boosted the other mining ships, some got Tank, some got mining ability. I don't have a problem with it except one thing. I spent a lot of time training up my skills to fly a Hulk for max yield. I'm in a Corp that does Hi Sec missions and mining ops. They are as much a social event as anything else. We all talk on external voice comms, Ventrilo for a while, now Skype. We joined an Alliance for a while and did 0.0 until the corp was tired of getting ranted at about not being in the various combat ops every day. Personally I only get on a couple days a week, I have a family to support. Oters were either not interested in PVP or not online enough to appease the Alliance. We owned a WH for a while, that was fun until too many of the group got tired of it. Having 3 Battleships and a Large POS in a WH that only allows BC sized ships in was interesting too. Fun when someone followed one of our trading runs back in to try ganking us.
Now they did Incarna, which washed out several of my Corp mates. Captains Quarters are ho hum and No New Ships... Now we have Incursions, interesting but were not in our area. And I'm tired of moving masses of items / Ships from Region to Region. And now the latest Issue. We are a mostly Industrial / Trader / Mission bunch. Most of us have at least one account with a Hulk operator on it. I spent a long time with low quality implants training to fly the Hulk and now it's hardly better than a Mac. I also see they dropped the Req's to fly it. Put the Req's back where they were and buff the mining capacity to keep the Hulk at least 20% better at mining than the others. I spent the time and ISK to fly my Hulk, I'm angry that it is now barely better than a Mac. PS, My Corp is nearly empty now as most players said screw CCP and moved to other games due to this sort of changes in EVE. We went from 30+ players to 6. CCP are you listening? You are losing players by Nerfing equipment we worked hard to get and use. |

Sounds like you and your corpmates are stupid, hulk is still the king of yeild. Out of all the miners I know only one has swapped to macks. the only reason he did it was running 10 accounts is easier with macks than hulks due to the ore bay.
hulks you take for yeild. macks for more AFK skiffs for areas were theres lots of gankers
tldr dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. I know more people who are happy about the change than sad about it. you are part of a vocal minority |

Before we had 5 useless mining ships and one good one. Now we have 3 viable end game miners and three "stepping stone" ships. Does that not sound better?
Hulk still brings in the most money, provided you don't mind being at the keyboard. This rebalance rewards active players while giving viable alternatives to AFK miners.
I seriously don't understand this desire to make one ship to rule them... I for own enjoy being able to be a competitive player using the stuff given to you in the tutorial missions. Much better than turning this game into some sort of gear grind where you can't actually :play: the game until your max level. Hows my posting? Call 1-800-747-7633 to leave feedback. |

The only nerfs the hulk took from 1.2 were to the maximum cargo hold (which was irrelevant if you fit for mining yield or tank), the available cargo space for crystals (irrelevant if you don't use crystals), and to shield regeneration (irrelevant if you pop belt rats as soon as they appear and have enough buffer to dissuade any ganker) while pretty much every other aspect of the hulk got buffed.
I'm confused as to why you think that people leaving the game was caused by the hulk getting an overall buff. |

wait, one of your complaints is that they decreased the hulks training time by 16.5 hours? you realize thats like a 1.87% decrease in the amount of time it takes to train for it right?
I dont mean to nit-pick but . . . really?
Also if you consider 16% "barely better" then I think you should take a look at the price of 5% implants some time. Or Estamel's Modified Adaptive Invulnerability Field which is "only" 20% better than a T2 invul.
People pay billions to be "barely better" than their opponents. |

Hulk pretty much got buffed alround, more Tank, still best at yeild, larger default ore holding space. The only real Nerf the HULK received, was to its reputation as the only real viable mining vessel. |

The Hulk didn't get nerfed at all, other mining ships got buffed. Just because the Hulk isn't the only ship you can use for mining anymore doesn't mean it was nerfed. |

I also trained an alt years ago to Exhumers V for maximum Hulk yield.
With this change, now I not only get a max yield Hulk, I get a max hold Mack and a max tank Skiff. With no additional training time needed.
Seems like a win for me. |

Every topic like this boils down to the OP not being smart enough to read patch notes and figure out what has actually changed. |

Not to nit-pick, but you need to read up on the difference between percentage and percentage points.

But man. Reading. Seriously? We need to read the patch notes? What will it be next? They won't let me save my username at the login screen?

If you trained for max yield, then nothing has changed: the Hulk is still king of yield.
If you want to **** around talking to your friends while your ships burn up rocks with minimal supervision, trade the Hulk for a Mackinaw (or, hell, even a Retriever if all you're doing is hisec carebearing).
I'm not sure what you're bitching about.

The Hulk got buffed; it is definitely in a better shape than ever before. Just because the other Barges got bigger buffs in order to make them competitive doesn't translate into the Hulk getting nerfed.
No way, no how. Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you. |

It's not really a desire in as much as it's conditioning. Look at all the linear games out there that use skill and level progression as the sole means of measuring advancement. The "tier-icide" for ships is going to really frustrate people, like the OP, who are so used to having a clear progression path laid out for them. They're so used to being told what the best in slot item is and how to go about getting it that they can't comprehend anything else.
Choice scares the hell out of some people.

Seems to me the only negative impact was a slightly less yield for ice mining specifically purely based on cycle times/blocks per hour (comparing old mac vs hulk here) - everything else non-ice is the same or much better. I get a few less blocks per hour with the hulk than I did with the mac, other mining yield is unchanged, and I get a lot of flexibility now. Cargo doesn't matter because hulk is not to be used solo - never was in my view. |

The hulk is a fleet ship. Work in a fleet of change ship. How damn hard is it to understand? |
