So I've played with the character creator and it has to be the least intuitive interface ever developed for a character creator. What I am looking for is a practical guide to using it. I don't want a "this is how to make a realistic looking character" thing that talks about makeup and other nonsense.
I want something to explain things like "how do I move where my arms are", I've seen crossed arms and couldn't figure out how to do that and how do I open my mouth or smile or frown" stuff. Lighting for example, how do I change the location of the light source?
Practical "click on this" and you change "that". Because all I seem to be able to do is click in places, I see something like "muscles" but they don't seem to move at all.
I can't believe CCP didn't publish something this basic before this patch. For example I just learned there are options on some clothing items by reading the forums. This should be in some sort of guide!

All of this is done after your body/face creation. Click next and you will get a new interface where to change pose, expression lightning.

Thanks, I'll look again but changing poses didn't seem to make any difference. :-(

Sounds like you're stopping at sculpt mode and not continuing to pose mode. I don't know if all races/genders have the crossed arms pose, but for those that do, you need to zoom out and rotate the camera to get a good view of it. Lighting is controlled from the list on the right just like the body poses are, you'll see a thumbnail showing you which direction the light source will come from (also take note of the counter that starts at 1/7 on each light mode, it lets you change the lighting style).
