I mean sure you got rid of the click festą that was a great idea, but could you ease up on the power grid requirements for the new extractors? How about increase the storage capacity of the launch pad? I mean, I have a indy that can haul 4 times more than the launch pad can hold. These changes have driven the price of commodities up many times what they use to cost under the npc system, and now they are being driven eve higher.
I use to be able to build robotics on a single plasma planet, thatĘs no longer possible. So I tried to turn one planet into a manufacturing hub and extract the resources from other planets, haul and distribute. Only to find out there is a 5.5 hour timer each time you expedite transfers to additional storage units, making a single colony manufacturing hub a logistical nightmare.
I am no PI guru. I have several high and low sec colonies I have been using since the first inception of PI. while the massive reduction in clicks is very welcome, the new power requirements have really messed things up. I have been trying to find a compromise but as I do so I have wasted 10's of millions on setups that just wont work well.
Is there any changes you (CCP) might be thinking about to make pi less of a nightmare?
Any suggestions anyone might have would be very welcome.

please read all other whines for this feature (scroll through the 4-5 pages of GD, you're not the first to be wrong on the matter) and reply in the respective threads (issues/comments for incursions 1.1.0 somewhere on the Information Portal forums at the top).
Also, if you have a need to propose ideas or new features use the F&I forums or the AH.

don't used expedited transfers and use the customs office as a extra storage :P

I'm seeing no real difference in my output. It's surprising how much efficiency you can miss when you have PG to spare. I cut down on supply lines, streamlined storage, and still making a profit.
By the way, you're now blinking and breathing manually. <3 |

there's no need to ease up on the grid requirements for extractors, production was too easy (if exceedingly boring) under the old system and there was little encouragement to specialize your planets for lower-tier extraction instead of racing to p3s whereever you could
basically, working as intended imho

Thanks for the tip. I use the customs office farily often but never thought to use it as a storage center. This seems to be the solution.

pi is very broken now
half the output from planets at mo..:(
easy fixes:
1. lower extractor powergrid
2. double basic factory input amount & output amount
3. double advanced factory output from 5m3 per hour to 10m3 per hour
only then will pi be able to keep up with demand.
ignore the faults? expensive t2 ship + lots of offline towers due to lack of pos goo = alot of annoyed players letting their subs expire

From where I sit, PI's been exceeding demand. The PI items I've checked market histories have dropped in price to half the NPC prices from before. By making your suggested changes would penalize the players who've put together creative setups as posted earlier. You would drop PI prices (which would be awesome for me as a consumer.) Your overall income, as a producer, is based on how many other producers there are, not how much each one of them produces. I'm interested to see what the current changes do to prices. I expect low-ends to rise slightly, high ends to rise a lot. Prices would still have to double to be what the NPCs set.
(Disclaimer: I haven't done PI since it was first introduced on sisi and I decided it had less depth than most amateur Flash games I've played. Fixing the clickfest has not added any depth.)

I think they should introduce new skills which boost production outputs, reduce cpu/power needs of facilities, increase link efficiencies, etc .... so someone can specialize in this and be rewarded |
