Hammers kill cruisers and frigates with ease.
That's quite a bold statement you've made there.
I have always speed tanked missions. I fit full gank and I kill scramblers and webbers 1st no matter what. If they don't even get in range, all the better... and light drones get the job done better than anything else.
Maybe you're "doing it wrong".
Scrammers != Webbers.
Killing web frigates, OK. Killin scram, who cares.
Everyone else had a sig and i felt lonly :( |

T2 Lights shred frigates usually in half the time it takes mids.
Mids were nerfed a while back, they used to be serious weapons, now the only reason to use them is to hit larger ships that are a long range and heavies take too long to get there.
If range isn't an issue, Lights for frigs/dessys, heavies for everything else.

You'll care if you over agro a big room solo'ing and your tank starts to melt. Sure, just warp out... oh wait. POP!
Yes, I confess I have lost a domi this way.
/me hangs head in shame.

Funny thing is that nobody asked what kind of ship is the OP going to fly. If the BS is a Domi, then go straight for T2 sentries and have an assortment of lights and med and sentries, since the Domi has 375 m3 of Drones available; more than enough to stick in all sorts of drones. Here's a good start for all-round drone assortment: 5x Warrior II - 25 m3 5x Hammerhead II - 50 m3 5x Bouncer II - 125 m3 5x Garde II - 125 m3 Total: 325 m3 - so you can add extras, you know, just for when you get one drone destroyed.
I personally use an Ishtar for L4 missions and almost never use med or light drones.
I use bouncers to engage the rats when they are above 40-50 km away and if they get closer I switch to Gardes. Using HH2 drones if one rat manages to get closer; alternatively I just ignore it and kill all others before returning to finish it.
Ishtar + sentries means: - No ship movement needed: sentries melt rats before they can get close enough to deal any significant damage; - Almost no tanking needed: most times, rats engage sentries from 60+ km away, dealing crappy damage - and sentries can tank very nicely. - Almost no light drones used. I got a Warrior II shot down about 10 missions ago and never bothered to buy another because I don't use them :)
Currently, my sentries can engage rats at 68 km (unbonused range). Since rats come straight to you, high tracking is useless, frontal damage is sweeeeeet :) ...gis sdrawkcaB |

PVP - you'll be using a combination of Light, Medium and Heavy drones at the same time. Maximum efficiency is actually a combination of all 3 types and not just medium or heavy.
PVE - Light will do wonders for quick frigate kills and long distance attacks. Medium will be your bread and butter and heavy will be situational. If you can fit some, Sentries are also quite usefull. ________________________________________________ Lysianna Hazumason Celestial Janissaries Curatores Veritatis Alliance
