I've been working with the new PI extractors and I'm getting frequent problems with routes being dropped once I re-set the extraction program. When I try to re-route my material (in most cases to a spaceport) I'm getting frequent messages telling me the following:
"The route cannot be created as adding traffic to one of the links over which it travels would create dangerous levels of congestion."
While this is a brilliant error message for role players I would simply like to know
a) What the f... does this mean? and b) How do I see and/or calculate what a "safe" level would be then?
Can anyone help me understand this?
Thanks in advance

it means you're trying to send too much stuff across a link. Links have a maximum amount of goodies they can carry per hour, anythign above that creates dangerous levels of congestion. To get rid of this error, upgrade your links. you do this by clicking the link that is giving you trouble, then hit the button with the green +, and then click upgrade link. if the 'upgrade link' button is not available, you don't have enough power/CPU to upgrade the link.

You need to upgrade your link to carry the additional material from your extractors. You can tell how full the link is by the percent that shows on it. If you click on a link, the info will tell you how much you can push through it, and will give you the costs in CPU and PG to upgrade to the next level.

This is a standard error message. It means you are sending more resources than the link can handle, hover over the route and it will show 208% or whatever in red. Upgrade the link until this is less than 100%.
This hasn't actually changed, it just happens more frequently now as all resources traverse the same link.
I tend to find that the link between ECU and Launchpad should be upgraded to level 3. Its usualy a short link, so doesnt cost much.

In the process of selecting the destination of the route you will see 2 percentages over each link. If one of them is red you are overloading that link and you need to upgrade it as previously answered.
