Sincere condolences to our Russian friends and others who are affected by the airport bombing.
We may have our differences in the game, but in real life we stand beside you with support and with sincere hope that those responsible are captured and suffer the appropriate consequences.

I second this. Such things are terrible. I settle for minmatar terrorists, not real terrorists.

Targeting civilians is the wrong way.
I will not claim to understand or judge motivation but the method is unacceptable.

I also pass my condolences to all who have been affected by yet another act of supreme idiocy.

I'll absolutely judge the motivation. The motivation is Islam. The bombers want an Islamic state in their region.
Strange how that theme comes up time and time and time again with these bombings.

From a twitter feed about this:
"Amid disgust over reports of Moscow taxi-drivers inflating fares to and from the airport, volunteer drivers have been offering their services free of charge, posting their mobile phone numbers on Twitter. Some have been offering a free bed for the night to people affected by the explosion."
Good to see you pulling together! Like the Brits in the wars. Taxi drivers are probably from the Caucasus...
Also, they found the bomber's head. Arab chap funnily enough. I'm sure there will be outpourings of condemnation from Muslims worldwide...

After this incident there will probably be another massive hike in the TSA's security stranglehold on airports and stuff is still going to happen.
That being said, I'm not going to drag this into a Muslims are teh ebil and need to be eradicated crowd that will probably find their way in here.

The Russians have a much harsher policy in dealing with terrorists than the rest of the world, and even as an American, I think more countries should follow suit.
When they catch them, don't expect to hear any whining from them about the "horrendous" treatment of prisoners like making them stand up for a few hours at a time or forcing them to listen to heavy metal songs, like in Guantanamo. Simply put, Russians do not f*ck around with this stuff. These people will be killed and thrown into a ditch somewhere on national television, and any outcry from it will be met by extended middle fingers from the Russian government...and that's why Russian vengeance is so awesome.
You don't p!ss off the Russians.

You don't p!ss off the Russians.
Treating them as soldiers and killing them is fine even in liberal democracies. The problem is your unwillingness to take military casualties and the treatment of people once they are in your absolute control and can no longer be a threat to you.
Your unwillingness to take military casulties means that you use a lot of remote strikes and keep your distance. Such strikes keep your home happy, but aren't that good at killing your actual targets and they kill a lot of innocents. You know those people whose killing makes you view the terrorist as the scum of the earth. It's not exactly the same, since you didn't wish to kill them and apologize after killing them, but that gets smudged by the fact that your bodycount of innocents dwarfs theirs.
The problem with treating people in your absolute control is obvious. You either choose the principles of your nation, applies to liberal democracies not to countries like Russia, or the chance of getting trustworthy and vital immediate information out of them. Many will choose the information and I can understand that, but in their desperation those people abandon what liberal demoracies stand for, so I disagree with them and can't really even respect them.
Torturing people for information isn't useless, but it's much better for getting confessions, works better on non-fanatics like normal criminals and rarely producess anything of real value in the timeframe it takes to break a person. By this I mean the kind of life saving information they use to justify such treatment in the first place. Actual intelligence gathering is what you have to rely on in the end anyway and use to confirm anything a prisoner told you. If anything you sold your country's principles, created a wave of sympathy for your enemies, that make people less willing to aid your efforts, and poured fuel on the fire that your enemies use to recruit new people to fight against you. Not a good price to pay for the few useful crums of information, that you couldn't have gotten by other methods.
I agree on the part of not ****ing off the Russians. If you want them out of your country, just keep destroying their equipment and killing their soldiers and security personel, and turn the locals and international community against them. Once they leave most of their influence goes with them. By targeting civilians you only make things worse for your cause. It creates a barrier against outside help and pressure, and no politician can back away from such a challenge. That would amount to political suicide and they will grind your country to dust before backing down from that challenge.

I would hope most people realise only a tiny, tiny fraction of muslims blow up people (which is a massive sin according to their own religion). The problem is that most attacks seem to be by muslims so its no wonder people think they are all mad mullahs
I might just take up that offer of a one way ticket to mars to get away from all this crap.

A tiny fraction that actually self detonate? Yes. A tiny fraction that supports terrorism? Nope.
Quote: In the Pew Global Attitudes Project poll released on Thursday, 68 percent of Palestinian Muslim respondents said suicide bombings against civilians were justifiable ôto defend Islam from its enemies.ö That view was shared by 43 percent of respondents in Nigeria and 38 percent in Lebanon, where 51 percent of ShiÆites held the view compared to 25 percent of Sunnis. Elsewhere, the proportion of Muslim respondents supporting suicide bombings against civilians was 15 percent in Egypt, 13 percent in Indonesia, 12 percent in Jordan, seven percent in Israel (Muslim Arab citizens), five percent in Pakistan and four percent in Turkey. Of the eight countries polled, support for suicide bombings increased since last year in five of them. On the other hand, this yearÆs results show a decline over the period since 2002. Pakistan recorded the most striking drop: In 2004, 41 percent of respondents justified suicide terrorism, whereas the number recorded this year was five percent. Terrorism has surged in Pakistan since 2007, and this year alone, at least 750 people had been killed and 2,276 injured in 365 bombings inside Pakistan as of the end of August, according to figures compiled by the South Asia Terrorism Portal in New Delhi. The Pew survey also found although majorities in Nigeria (54 percent) and the Palestinian territories (52 percent) expressed ôconfidence in the al Qaeda leader [Osama bin Laden] to do the right thing regarding world affairs.ö In the other countries surveyed, the Saudi terrorist enjoyed the backing of 28 percent of respondents in Jordan, 25 percent in Indonesia, 23 percent in Egypt, 18 percent in Pakistan, 16 percent in Israel, four percent in Lebanon and two percent in Turkey.
