1. Shoot the wrecks. 2. Giggle. 3. Turn in mission. 4. Win Eve.
Optional: Pop a can with a funny remark regarding the salvager's intelligence. Go play blackops while he flys around you waiting for you to shoot at him. Eat a sandwich.

5. Finish mission objective in a minute and leave 2 wrecks behind. If ninja bothers to loot and salvage 2 battleships in Stop the Thief while the rest of the pocket is blasting him, more power to him. 6. Do another mission and laugh at both ninja salvagers and the ones shooting wrecks. Incursions - like WOW raids in space, only Smash HIT |

Agreed especially with #5. Done this a few times. If the turn-in time is several hours away then leave for an hour or so.
I might add the counter ransom:
ninja dork: #### isk and I leave your loot alone. Agreed? you: #### (+ 10%) I don't shoot the wrecks right before you get to them. Agreed?
The key to the whole thing is to not give them what they want... tears. Turn the game back on them and have fun with it. Criminal tears are really tasty!!!

7. Use a salvager alt to get the wrecks before they do. Noctis tractors help. 8. Let them have it and go do next mission.

Wise words right here. Seriously, you'll make more than they will if you're blitzing missions anyway.

Whats so funny is when I hear ninja salvagers talk about how they make omgwtf 1.3 bizhillion isk off of some meta lvl 4 crap. LOL GG now go buy yourself another probe to bother people with you bizhillionare. I'm liking the "leaving 2 wrecks behind" idea though...that sounds like a boat load of funz ^.^ Rawr |

I'm not understanding that one. If the MR blitzes the mission and leaves, then the ninja won't ever come to that mission in the first place. Or are you saying to proceed as normal, and then IF a Ninja shows up blitz and leave while the Ninja is flying around the angry NPCs?

Edited by: Vivian Ramasita on 28/01/2011 19:28:20 That's cool, man. I bet your smug, superior attitude will all but guarantee your success in life as well as in Eve!
One thing to note: if I see you (mission-runner) and only a couple of wrecks, I'll usually ship scan you to see whether you are fit for salvaging. (By the way, when ninjas target you, this is usually what they're doing -- not expecting you to actually lock back and shoot accidentally.)
Regardless of how you're fit, I leave. If you're already salvaging, I don't come back. If you're not salvaging, I just wait until I think you might be done, and THEN come back. I got other stuff to do besides wait for your slow ass to pop Angel battleships!

Edited by: Daesis Wrack on 28/01/2011 19:53:56 Edited by: Daesis Wrack on 28/01/2011 19:53:14 The ninja salvager wants one of three things:
1. The loot 2. Your tears 3. For you to aggress him so he can kill you
The proper response to all three is the same. Convo the looter, and offer to abandon the wrecks in exchange for some isk (about 20% of the salvage value). Even if they do give you the isk, don't abandon all the wrecks. Whatever you do, don't aggress the ninja.

Has anyone ever taken you up on this? A different player made me a similar offer once, but instead I offered half the salvage and loot I picked up, and he agreed. He didn't abandon the wrecks, but he didn't shoot me or otherwise attempt to prevent me from cleaning up.
I always make good on such offers. Why wouldn't you? Do you get off on being a big jerk or something?

I find denying them tears and rage almost as delicious as they must find the tears of others, so I just simply abandon wrecks.
Nothing better than seeing a ninjaer sulk because you denied him fun.

Lol fantastic, leave me be and go pick on some other poor soul. I hope that person ends up salvaging on the go too. Then youll just be scanning, warping around, and wasting your time! Or you can come back and loot/salvage all the fantastic cruiser/frig wrecks I leave for you Rawr |

I like how smart people are in this thread, too bad that there's so few reading this forum.
This is just like the goon recruitment scam, anyone who's been around for more than 2 weeks knows about it, but still people fall for it, my point being; there will always be ******s, and no matter the amount of guides or tips you write on the forums, the ******s will never get to read it.
my point; what is the point of this thread? this is common knowledge :/

Turn the wrecks blue, go do the next mission. Seriously why waste time and energy on the salvage when you can run another mission.

7. You might also try missioning somewhere/anywhere that isn't Dumb-dixie, Rot-su, or Gicodel.

I loot everything as I mission, both on my main and my alt as they are missioning separately in Dominixes. I even salvage the frigates and loot the meta 0 garbage I can't sell on the market for reprocessing. I don't have much else worth sticking in my high slots really, and it helps stem off boredom and keep me focused after doing World's Collide for the 700th time.
I get how people say "just blitz it, the scraps aren't worth your time", but I manage to pull down around 300-500 million ISK in salvage per character per month, and that's enough let me play free while using my actual "earned" income from missions and sites for the cool faction loot I want. The meta 0-2 stuff recycles pretty nicely if I let it stockpile for a week or two, and I can usually build a free battleship or more out of it. I built a Rattlesnake and Megathron off those minerals alone in the last couple of weeks.
Call me stingy, but I don't want any ninja looters taking that away. That's my playstyle though, for other people getting free plexes and unnecessary battleships each month just aren't worth the effort.

WTB a better high sec SOE agent than the one in G.
But seriously given that the ninja wants one of the aforementioned things:
1. Blowing up your wrecks if you were going to loot them plays into the griefer's goal. 2. Abandoning the wrecks plays into the guy whp's in it for the money's hands. 3. Attacking him plays into that other guy's hands. Unless you wtfpwn him. Since he's baiting you this might be hard, though maybe having some sort of cloaked suicide arty ship alt nearby might help. That or attacking him, then switching to your own uber PvP ship when he warps off to get his.

No, they just understand the concept of "opportunity cost".
