If you came here looking for another whine about afk-cloaking, etc. then sorry, that's not what this is about.
I have a simple request concerning cloaks, especially covert ops cloaks:
They're too big. It happens quite a lot that I kill stealth bombers and covert ops frigs, and they often drop covops cloaks, which I like to sell to help fund my next ship. The problem is, a covops Cloak is 100.0 m^3, and usually will not fit into the cargo hold of my combat frigate.
Sizing them down a bit so that I can carry one or even two in my frigate's cargohold would be wonderful!

I agree. I have one fitted to my Hound, but the Hound is less than 200m long! How can it fit a 100m^3 cube?

like the title...then the subeject matter lol....
SIgned....would fix sb's. Funny little ship, if eve actually showed all items on the ship it fits, a sb would be so small compared to its cloak and 3 siege launchers if fits lol.

I always did wonder where a star ship about the size of a 747 put that cloak with the warp drive, engines, pod systems, weapons, cargo bays, and all the other systems a frig has. ---- --- ---

I half agree with this thread, half disagree. They could be smaller on one hand, on the other, if you are flying a ship with a small cargohold, you really should be able to expect to fit much in it.

Doesn't 4x5x5 equal 100 cubic meters?

This is a decent argument, however, there are a few arguments:
1) as a module that is commonly fit to a frigate, not being able to fit the module into a frigate cargohold seems a little odd
2) An XL Shield booster is 50.0 m^3, a T3 subsystem is 40.0 m^3....I can fit one of each into most frigate cargoholds, but can't fit a Covops cloak? That, too, seems a little odd

Its not really that odd unless you believe that the cloak is a single magical box. The stealth system of a f22 raptor is the size of a F22 raptor since it coats the entire fuselage of the plane.
Whats to say that when fitting a cloak to a ship that that cloak isn't unpackaged and then fitted to the ship in a configuration that takes up quite a lot more space (like in the raptors example).

I think you are right on this. How about this then... A command that will allow you to Repackage something no matter where it is? Even if it is floating in space.

I agree, the size of cloaking devices m3 should be looked at, changing it too about 60m3 would be a suitable comprimise
as said before, many other parts dont stack up as large as cloaking device's and there's no need to make them so large in m3
a 425mm railgun is only 20m3 a 1400mm Howitzer is only 20m3

I'm not sold on this.
If you want a cov ops cloak, fly something with a bigger hold so you actually can lewt it or go buy one.

Entered expecting to find a afk cloaker whine, left pleased.
The covops cloak is way oversized, cut it in half so that its reasonable size, large enoguh that its noticable but small enough that it can be looted.

I don't think you understood what I meant. I don't want to have one, I want to be able to loot one from a wreck, then carry it in my cargo hold to a station where I can sell it.

You guys are picturing the cloak as a piece of equipment that you plug into your ships computer and engine etc.
The truth is: The cloak is actually a huge 'space' colored tarpaulin that you fit around your ship and strap into place underneath. When its rolled up it is still fairly big and thus a cloak for a frig wont actually fit in the frig's hold.
Going AFK now!
