Since their skilling differences where removed long ago?
Could Eve survive without them and just have races? Simplification making Eve more ACCESSIBLE to new players?

They create more diversity in appearences, hence why I think they should stay =).

You can widen the appearance options at the race level without subdividing them into bloodlines.

So what's wrong with your avatar this time? Is it too North Korean? Or is the nose too Western Chinese? You're really obsessing a lot about the looks, shouldn't you be busy scamming people in Rens instead?

While I still think a bloodline would have been in order I remade my Vherokior (last try) and she's acceptable for me now. It was very hard though, admitted, but I refused to take aviators or silly haircuts/poses/body shapes.
Be realistic. CCP may grant a bloodline change or do it for plex or not at all. In the end you either make the best of it or quit playing. Sign the petition and hope someone from CSM will pick it up.

Vherokior forever, I'd hate to see bloodlines lost, maybe they will matter again in the future of the game.

I read there are some items that check it but I never heard of it until someone wrote it so could be total BS. Otherwise I'd say they serve to provide a limited 'look' one can attain, at least for now future cash shops might offer some modifications, and to annoy people who aren't satisfied with the new 'look' they've been given based on a choice they made when it represented something else.
As far as new players I don't think they'd care one way or the other only 'race' makes a difference now in your starting location/npc and ship/weapon skills so they'll pick based on ship/weapons, location, and looks.

They determine your NPC corp.
They also serve to annoy you. This is a good thing. For that reason alone, there should be more added that you can't change to. They should all look Japanese.

Quote: What purpose do Bloodlines have in EVE now?
Bloodlines have no real purpose in EVE as the consequences are (almost) non-existent, even between races.
They're cosmetic though. I bet less people will make Achura and Khanid females now the very nice exclusive long hairstyle has been removed from them, I think it was one of their main attractions. Same for the Vherokior which had a very lively look with nice exclusive hairstyles. ________________* - If you're in favour of a bloodline change please vote in the Assembly Hall in this thread - |

No, you're still going to see plenty of Khanid and Achura; because they're asian.
Although I agree bloodlines would not tie into an EVE civilization, but then we'd need to also do away with races. Even now, you ask many people in a highly modernized/urbanized city what their race is and you'd better be good with fractions.

they give you something to complain about and something for gms to tell you no about.
I suppose its an odd thing, but maybe making people angry is a way to get people to care? Indifference is a worse fate, and if you could have what you wanted you'd lose interest in the game sooner?
the mind is a complicated thing

There are, approximately, 7.3 million role players in Eve for whom without the bloodlines Eve would be a cold and friendless place.

to be honest, Im quite fond of the bloodlines and their varied look/back story description. When i created Arrakis I put alot of thought into the way she'd look and the bloodline she would come from.
When it came time to re-do her portrait, i tried to stay as faithful to her original portrait as possible while making a few minor upgrades to ensure a "Civire" look about her.
all and all i think they should stay. sure their not AS difinitive as they used too be, but Arrakis is and will always be Civire

They show which gym-addict in lycra is faster than another gym-addict in lycra. In addition, you get a shiny medal if you come first, second, or third. Provided, of course, your urine sample is okay, and your gender is as stated on the entry form... |
