Hello, i am working on my standing with Amarr Navy to 8.0 to be able to get my 1st Jump Clone, but i noticed i get less and less standing increase per a mission as my standing going up and i am worried if it even stops before i ever reach 8.0 as i am only doing L3 missions? The question is, do i need to do L4 to reach 8.0 standing with a corporation?

IIRC, standing increases are directly proportional to the difference of 10.0 standings and your current standings. So the closer you are to 10.0, the less each real standing increase is. Meaning, the closer you get to 8.0, the longer it will take to close the remaining gap.
This is the same for both level 3 and level 4 missions. ----------

^^ This. You can get to 10.0 doing L1 missions. It will just takeà ehmà a whileà ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

The increase (and decrease) in standings is calculated based on the difference from your current standings to the maximum (minimum) value.
So if you run a mission that gives a 1% increase in standings ... if your standing is 0 this will give a 0.1 increase. (10-0)* 1% = 0.1 ... if your standing is 7 this same mission will give a (10 -7) * 1% = 0.03 increase.
The fastest way to increase faction standings is typically to blitz L3s to do the storylines. Regular missions only give corporate and agent standings while storylines give faction standing. In addition, storylines typically give very large increases in standing with the corporation for which you run the mission.
The quickest way to increase corporate standings is to find an agent of the corporation you wish to increase standings with where the nearest storyline agent is with the same corporation. Every storyline mission will thus also be with the target corporation and your standings will increase much faster.
Finally, if your goal is to obtain jump clones then a good alternative is to join a jump clone corporation like Estel Arador Corp Services (if that one is still around) to create your jump clones. I've used that corp with several alts and the process is extremely easy. Train up infomorph psychology to however many jump clones you want ... do this before joining the corp since you will be allowed to join for a maximum of about 4 days (though you will only need about an hour or less to create the jump clones.) Apply to join the corp and after you are accepted you can then use most medical facilities in the game to create a jump clone. What the principles of the corp have done is to run missions with most of the corporations in EVE until the corporation has an 8+ standing with a large number of corp/factions. (You can check this before joining the corp by looking at the corp standings). When you join the corp ... you acquire the corporate standings which are sufficient to acquire jump clones at thousands of stations in EVE. Go to the medical facilities in several stations since the limit is one JC/station and create your jump clones. Leave the corp when done. Your personal standings take a few days before they would affect corporate standings which is why you will get kicked out after a couple of days ... so create the JCs and move on to another corp :).

There's a good and a bad news.
The bad one is that you can but it will take you months of grinding with the best possible agent.
The good one is that you can run them so fast that you'll get plenty of faction ones (storylines).
Result: with Amarr faction over 7 you can acces to every lvl 4 agent at every corporation of the Amarrian Empire without doing the smaller ones. (but not the other faction corps installed in there)

Switch to a level4 agent ASAP since - as the guys above me already stated - you get less and less standing increase. A level4 agent will give you much more standing. It will still be a kind of slow but much faster than the other way.

I got my standings with the brutor tribe up over 8 just by doing level 2 missions in a thrasher. That was over 2 years ago and I've not done a mission in those two years and never will again. move out to 0.0 create a clone at a blue station. never look back.

It's very doable, but it's much easier if you're running missions with a corp that also gives you storyline missions. The storyline missions you get for every 16 regular missions will not only increase your Amarr standing, but they will give a lot 2-5x as much as a regular mission with the corp. My main ran missions with Gallente first and I wasn't really making my standings go too far. Then I started running L3s with Sisters of Eve and I hit 8 pretty fast because the storylines were comming from the same corp I was running regular missions with. To give you an idea of how significant this is: I was running Federation Customs Missions, and getting about 2/3rds of my storyline missions from the Garoun Investment Bank. I never did any other Garoun missions. My standings with Garoun are higher than Federation Customs.

Lookup the maths behind the standings and note that the progression is exponential. It doesn't stop, but the higher you go, the harder it gets. To put it in a simple perspective, it may take 10 L3 missions to progress from 0 to 1.0 .... but it'll take hundreds of L3 missions to progress from 9.99 to 10.0 (which is actually 9.99999999999999.... but the client truncates it to 10.0).
In general, L3 offers the best bang for increasing corp standings as you can blitz through roughly 10-12 L3 missions per hour (with a Tengu). It's not as skill & experience intensive as L4 blitzing.
In ballpark terms, L4 gives about 20-25% more standings over an equivalent L3 mission so you're looking at a rate of 8-10 L4 missions to maintain the gain. If you can do this, then L4 blitzing is the better path as its storylines confer a bigger boost to your faction standings.
For L3, it takes ~100-125 kill missions to get to 7.0 unmodified. Getting it to 8.0 modified (aka around 7.8ish unmodified), I'd guesstimate another extra 20-30 more L3 missions.

How to get a jump clone without the grinding...
* Temp join a corp that already has the 8.0 standings to get the clone and then leave that corp * Use a clone vat bay on a cap ship inside a POS shield * Get a one from a outpost in null sec that has a medical facility and the owner has granted you access to do so

yea I should have mentioned that a lot of that standings was from storylines. Cn agents in suroken give cn/propel dynamics storylines in haatomo. And when I was grinding cpf standings in Inaro I got spacelane storylines.
As for lv3 vs lv4 missions I'd do whatever is more blitzable. Suroken has 3 lv3 agents in one station you can blitz a lot of lv3s very quickly that way. Blitzing lv4s is great too. If you can I'd do it that way

for amarr navy you might just want to stick to level 2s in youl. Got a storyline agent in station can grind good standings there. I never really ran level 3s for amarr navy I jumped from lv 2s to 4s because of that youl storyline agent

So what is the relationship between the level of agent you run, and the standings boost from the subsequent storyline agent? I've always assumed that 16 level 4 missions will give you a better faction boost from the storyline agent than running L3's - is this true?

I would describe the relationship asà weak and fuzzy.
Yes, higher-level missions give higher base rewards, but at the same time, all rewards are constantly being recalculated based on the mission completion statistics. Missions that on average take a long time to complete get their rewards increased; missions that everyone blitz through get lower rewards.
It's not hard to find situations where L3s will get your standings up faster than L4s due to these mechanics (not to mention that L3s can be done en masse and thus rack up the increases really quickly, even if each increase is rather small).
So the rule of thumb is a rather imprecise "depends"à ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

faction grinds slow no matter what you do. Only way to power grind that is FW and move up the ranks. Puts your enemy faction standings in the toilet though.
Faction a pita...you will have your corp standing at 10 even loooooong before you have faction standing for running arcs or able to put up pos if you don't do fw.
easiest way to see then numbers is run 14 lv 3's then run 14 lv 4s and the storylines. Right click faction and see the numbers boosts. IIRC its not omfg great difference. faction and corp standings both hit a brick wall at some point. Bene trying for a corp 10 with soe.....after you hit 9.5 ish...it dribbles in slow. SOE faction standing goes even slower and thats not even at 6 iirc.

The storylines have the same 1-4 levels as regular missions. Doing 16 lvl 4 gets you a lvl 4 storyline, 16 lvl 2 a lvl 2 one etc. What depends is the division of your storyline agent and if you get a big boost kill mission or a smaller boost courier mission, but a lvl 4 courier is still a higher boost than a lvl 3 courier.
When I want to grind faction standings its clusters of lvl 3 couriers FTW, a storyline an hour if you're lucky. For raising a particular corp nothing is more important than working their storyline agent. Your storyline mission spawns at the nearest factions agent, next nearest if you've got one outstanding. Using an agent locator (like eve-survial) makes it easy to plan which agents to grind.

One word: COSMOS - faction standing is not slow.
