The drake is terrible for especially level 4 missions, simply because of it's low dps. A typical level 4 mission setup applied to a drake should do roughly 600 dps plus drones. Sadly if you're interested in flying a good missionship, you don't fly a drake, meaning these setups are really just theorycrafting.
A typical drake setup does 250-300 dps, with max skills. Parrots, commence!

I'd shoot for 270-300 DPS with non scourge + drones to just be able to run them, but its far being ideal.

If u are going to do lvl 4s with a Drake, u are most likely better off grinding lvl3s fast unless corrected..

A good DPS setup to solo L4s with a Drake is to fly a Raven instead.

That's why you don't fly a typical fit, but go for a good one instead. It's trivial to get 500+ DPS out of a Drake. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Drake CAN do acceptable DPS in lvl 4's, it's just that most people who use them do so because of low skills and/or lack of knowledge on the game resulting in crap fits and lol dps. Would you use a maxed out Drake with some pimp it's not that bad actually. Still, get a raven hull.

I only ever had problems with one level 4 mission in my Drake, and that was easily solved with some faction missiles for the last boss, Draben Kuvakei, of Vengeance.
Fit the right hardeners for the mission, and you can pretty much fall asleep without worries (been there, done that).
Now my fit wasn't optimal, but here it is as an example of "good enough".
I highly recommend a Raven, Navy Raven, Golem, or Tengu for level 4. All of them are faster.

Speed tank and lower sig can reduce incoming damage significantly. Rigor to help kill frigs faster, switch to Rage when fighting battleships if completion time is an issue.

Do share a fit. Bonus points if it has rigors to support the fury missile habit and double bonus points if you could do it without using Kinetic damage.

Doing L4s in a Drake is like doing L3s in an Assualt Frigate - yes you can do it but why would you want to as it's slow as hell?

No point in doing a l4 in a drake...
Take a raven if you fly caldari and own the mission 3 times faster. After you grind enough isk, take a golem and own the mission 2 times faster than in a raven.
When you get a golem, don't go for a full-x-type fit or you'll get ganked 1000000 times faster than a freighter full of goo.

Running L3s in an assault frigate is only similar to running L4s in a Drake due to the fact that you have to shoot things. Trust me, flying assault ships is nothing like flying Drakes, even insanely fitted speed tanking Drakes.

Drake is half decent in L4s so long as you have good missile skills and 2-3 BCS fitted... otherwise no point. Nighthawk is quite nice tho.
...or just buy a Raven

Sadly most people are idiots when it comes to drake fitting. The Drake is a fine ship for level 4 missions when fit correctly, and only a shade behind the Raven.

As mentioned in my first post up there, what you did is how any missionrunner aiming to actually complete the missions would fit a drake, sadly, it's a pointless fit as no one who actually want to make isk and complete the missions would fly one.
It's slower than a raven, ergo fly a raven. Parrots, commence!

Oh, dear, the EFT crowd enter a discussion again. Having 500 DPS with Kinetic isn't much use if the mission you are flying against targets that have very high Kinetic resists, then you have to use ammo THAT YOU HAVE NO BONUS FOR.

- It doesn't DO 720 dps, unless you overheat or add implants (so the number is silly) - you use fury without rigors so your expl radius is huge - it's *kinda* expensive to waste on a BC while you could use the cash for a decent CNR instead
So your numbers are a lie and it's a waste of cash: Unrealistic.

That depends a bit on the situation though. Overall, yes the raven is going to be a bit faster, but for those who are going the Tengu route and don't wish to waste time training cruise missiles its a valid alternative.
Also the raven sucks.

Clearly you don't mission much eh? Its 460dps cap stable tank for Guristas which is like 70% of the missions you do, plus its over 400 dps tank for Mercs, Angels, Serp, EoM, and Drones.

Granted the BC 5 is prolly a waste, but if you aren't using drones once in a while on a Tengu you are doing it wrong. Figure it out
